nowincolor - Bloody Mary (Never Records Version)

On June 3rd, 2024 nowincolor was invited to record with Ted Riederer as part of a Never Records project. Never Records is a traveling "record shop" that records bands, musicians, and all kinds of auditory art from around the world. Ted Riederer records, produces, and cuts a record of the performance all within the span of just a few hours. At the end of the session, the artist gets to walk away with a physical copy of whatever they just performed. A second copy remains with Never Records and becomes a part of the traveling art exhibit.
We recorded with Ted at the Sarasota Art Museum in Sarasota, FL. We decided to play our song "Bloody Mary." The band recorded live and vocals were done separately, which gives this song a "live" feel even though it technically isn't.
We've entitled this "Bloody Mary (Never Records Version)" because this song will be re-recorded for our upcoming debut EP. We just liked the energy of this recording and the experience at Never Records so much that we decided to release a special version of the song early, which you are hearing now.
The whole process was filmed by our friend Sam Eldridge and the footage was used to make this music video.
