IIRC Fat Mike's way of playing is to make the least amount of effort possible so he can play and sing without any problems as he is "very sloppy" according to him, which is why he plays a Danelectro (very light), plays really soft (easier for playing fast in longer sets), uses a very thin pick (easier to play), plays with his strap kind of low (so his arm is pretty much flat and it easier to play with pick as you get less tired) and so on, it is kind of strange to play like this but it is true that it is way more comfortable that it looks

    “Nothing really complicated.”?!?!?
Mike has some very strange time signatures and progressions. He also has some crazy intricate lines woven and buried on some of their tunes. As well as “difficult to pin down” rhythms every once in a while. Outside of maybe Matt Freeman, Joe Raposso, Mike Watt and a handful of others, Mikes one of the GOAT bass players in that scene.
Not even a fan of his politics or the childish attention seeking, how he only attacks one religion the majority of the time dislike his hypocrisy and degeneracy, but i can still be objective enough to give him his credit, musically.
You made him sound just above average, when he has legendary lines,
