At a certain tense point that night Lou yelled to his band, "Don't play until they shut up," I r e m e m b e r, because hell, he made me feel like I was in a class room.He really didn't like ppl messing up cuz he - as you see, was trying to give a good show. I was in class that day. FRESHMAN. Greece Arcadia to be of '77. We all got twisted at Johnnys house before, then the four of us got there. Walking out we were like, stunned. Tased by Lou. On the ride home, Johnny was driving. Black dude, and old enough to drive at night, he looks over at me and says, "Lou Reed told you to shut up."
Great upload. Never seen this footage before. I think a lot of younger people are surprised when they see Lou Reed in the 1970s: make-up, black leather, shooting up on stage, dancing around, probably out of his head on speed, Punk before Punk Rock... very different from the Lou Reed people know from the 1980s onwards... There must be lots of great footage from the 1970s which has never been seen. It'd be great if you could post some more.. terrific job, anyway, thanks a lot for posting this
