A stone cold Philly classic, so timeless too, this 1976 smash won a Grammy for the singer, songwriter, producer Lou Rawls who was known for his smooth vocal tone
As a young coming of age white kid who grew up in the upper midwest I loved Mr. Rawls music. I would sing my head off in the car when this song came on the radio. This man sang like a man. Like all the others comments here I miss the era ,the talent, the class he represented.
On a Saturday morning in 1976, I heard this. And when you're 7 and appreciate this gentleman's beautiful voice... There's no explanation but appreciation.
Me in 1979 I was driving green and white top Cadillac 1969 convertible on Kennedy Expressway in Chicago and I was listening to this song and I blast.the volume Those were the good old days.❤️❤️❤️
I want to be back in the 1970´s and 80´s! People who were privileged to experience those years are so lucky! I just LOVE those afro hairs! And those clothes!
Jane, I am now 62 years old, but it definitely was a great time for me. The music was great and easy listening, close and people were more respectable. Lots of good times, and things weren’t so fast-paced like they are now. I am thankful that we have this music now to enjoy

Soul Train was more than just a TV show😃. It was a cultural movement that celebrated Black excellence, creativity, and unity. It brought incredible music, fashion, and dance into homes across America, giving artists a platform and viewers a sense of pride in their heritage. It showcased the beauty and richness of Black culture while also opening doors in mainstream media. Truly iconic and timeless! November 2024
Before I depart I was 10yrs old when this classic 70s Soul classic by the legendary Lou Rawls Youll never find a love like mine was no 1 in the charts my late father always played this song on 7in vinyl single and sang it at many parties I realised back then he brought 6 of us on his own Sadly he died nearly 30,yrs ago My our brilliant mum died 6 years later I grew up in multi cultural society in the late 70s early 80s Going back to this classic 70s soul track like many today we can revisit the past.on youtube Old skool forever timeless peace

You're just a kid! I remember playing this song over and over in the juke box (remember them?) in my favorite night spot. This song is so magical. I miss Lou Rawls but I still have his albums.
Absolutely. Brings back good, bad and sad memories….kids today don’t have a clue! My husband passed away a little over a year ago and we grew up listening ,singing and dancing to this wonderful music. I miss him so much. Listening, dreaming and crying.
As a 1984 baby, I wouldn't have been blessed with this level of music, if not for my parents who raised me on 1970s music. I'm truly lucky to be here. Not to sound old, but the music for kids these days. Makes my late 90's music sound like heaven compared to today. Thankfully my daughter digs the 70s too.
Plush velvet. You hear Lou with your heart. It's a unique and amazing talent. He and Marvin Gaye are my favorites. I feel like these guys invented time travel. I hear their music and it really takes me back. Kids today don't know what they are missing. All of the music is electronically modified, and most of the big acts lip sync their concerts. It's a rip off.
The Voice era of the 70s and 80s Funk,Soul,Disco,Boogie and Breakdance all merge a pretty big genre with everything else that's why it's too good didn't realize i had so many of all that this is on the ultimate epic Black Silk Comp CD i have from 82, people know from how awesome those songs including Lou other song Lady Love

So this song saw the light in 1976. This is 2021. 45 years later. And here I am tonight... The words of this song kept repeating itself through my mind. I put on the laptop and searched it. I'm 56 years of age and for some reason unbeknown to me the late 70's music touches my soul. This is one of the songs which take me places I can't describe. I can't help but wonder if there's more such souls out there. It's so special and so awesome that I want to be back in those times even though I was only 11 at the time and have no memories of this song. It sounds crazy I know but it pulls me and with everything inside of me I just want to go there. I feel a sadness come over me that this was and won't be again. This to me is pure magic.
Same feeling here, I was born in 1970, can remember this on high rotation on my dads Grundig turntable I get nostalgic and emotional when I hear it. :)
This was my Grandmother's absolute favorite song of all time! She used to tell us that when it came out, she would be painting, and have to get down from the ladder to play it again on the turn table. It was a 45 record.... no loop in 1976. Boy, do I miss my Grandma!!!

A stone cold Philly classic, so timeless too, this 1976 smash won a Grammy for the singer, songwriter, producer Lou Rawls who was known for his smooth vocal tone
Lou Rawls is from Chicago

As a young coming of age white kid who grew up in the upper midwest I loved Mr. Rawls music. I would sing my head off in the car when this song came on the radio. This man sang like a man. Like all the others comments here I miss the era ,the talent, the class he represented.
Omg. He sounds like Lou Rawls. I could hear him talk all night. 😊
The good days of music and life.
Generation X kid here, born June 18, 1967. I loved the 1970's! Hello from Tyler Texas U.S.A.
where are the songs today, nothing comes even close to this music, this is heaven to listen to.
Imagine being at a small club and Lou Rawls is on stage, knocking this tune out.
Yes, you would talk at being "blown away" !
You'll never find, no matter where you search
Someone who cares about you the way I do
I want to be back in the 1970´s and 80´s! People who were privileged to experience those years are so lucky! I just LOVE those afro hairs! And those clothes!
Our brothers were so handsome back then, took care of themselves and had good manners, also loved the afros- my era if course!!
Jane, I am now 62 years old, but it definitely was a great time for me. The music was great and easy listening, close and people were more respectable. Lots of good times, and things weren’t so fast-paced like they are now. I am thankful that we have this music now to enjoy
@@richspinaci8293 How lovely is that! I, too, had my childhood and teens in the 1970´s and 1980´s. The best of times no money can buy. Only a few years younger than you, Rich.
@@nanikishikwane3121 You said it, such handsome people which are a pleasure to look at on a video. Look what everyone is wearing now! Why on earth are people getting their hair flattened and straightened, such gorgeous hair?
While it wasn't perfect by any stretch, it was still a pretty damned fun time!
Was in basic training 78, and lost like a lamb at 17 yrs old, then heard this song in the dayroom, and everything seemed to be a lot better, Thank you Lou Rawls
Hope your life found what he wanted---
Soul Train was more than just a TV show😃.

Before I depart I was 10yrs old when this classic 70s Soul classic by the legendary Lou Rawls Youll never find a love like mine was no 1 in the charts my late father always played this song on 7in vinyl single and sang it at many parties
I realised back then he brought 6 of us on his own
Sadly he died nearly 30,yrs ago
My our brilliant mum died 6 years later
I grew up in multi cultural society in the late 70s early 80s
Going back to this classic 70s soul track like many today we can revisit the past.on youtube
Old skool forever timeless peace
I am 59 years old almost 60 years old and I remember when lou rawls came out with this song I am still listing to this song today in 2024 keep rip lou rawls
You're just a kid! I remember playing this song over and over in the juke box (remember them?) in my favorite night spot. This song is so magical. I miss Lou Rawls but I still have his albums.
I'm 57, this song is a childhood favorite of mine.
Fantastic Lou. He could even bring us in for the US Lowenbrau as the beer to pour that must say something more somehow. That's a compliment!
I love 4 ever!
2:02 His Voice o
Is unique.. beautiful
Absolutely. Brings back good, bad and sad memories….kids today don’t have a clue! My husband passed away a little over a year ago and we grew up listening ,singing and dancing to this wonderful music. I miss him so much. Listening, dreaming and crying.
One of the all time classics what a voice❤❤❤
i´m 37 and I love listening to the 70´s!!! Music like this aren´t made anymore! Thank God my dad gave me the good taste of music 🤩
Que canción tan hermosa, me encanta !!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤
Lou Rawls' booming voice... what texture... what depth
Yes, a legend definitely i of the greats
Plush velvet. You hear Lou with your heart. It's a unique and amazing talent. He and Marvin Gaye are my favorites. I feel like these guys invented time travel. I hear their music and it really takes me back. Kids today don't know what they are missing. All of the music is electronically modified, and most of the big acts lip sync their concerts. It's a rip off.
I’m currently 21 and ever since I was a kid I’ve always enjoyed music like this so shoutout to my parents who exposed me to this type of music
This song is truly a "timeless classic."
Absolutely no contest?
The Voice era of the 70s and 80s Funk,Soul,Disco,Boogie and Breakdance all merge a pretty big genre with everything else that's why it's too good didn't realize i had so many of all that this is on the ultimate epic Black Silk Comp CD i have from 82, people know from how awesome those songs including Lou other song Lady Love
@@paultreadaway102 2022-Genuine singing talent has now been replaced by electronic instruments. The best way to hear if someone has true RAW singing talent--sing acapella-0 instruments.

Thanks for groovin' with us!
Hello dear ❤❤❤❤
I'm older than Israel, and still groovin' in a timeless zone of cosmic bliss.
This was my Grandmother's absolute favorite song of all time! She used to tell us that when it came out, she would be painting, and have to get down from the ladder to play it again on the turn table. It was a 45 record.... no loop in 1976. Boy, do I miss my Grandma!!!
Those beautiful songs send me right back to my youth so sweet Love songs 😘❣️😘😘, 🌹 🍀🌹🍀
