Dick Wagner on acoustic. I worked with him a year before he hooked up with Lou. Dick was in Ursa Major at that time in 72. They played for a month at The Flying Machine in ft Lauderdale. Ursa Major were awesome and Dick was a nice guy. I like his work with Alice Cooper

    • @kurtfinguerra1712

LOVE Lou paired with Dick Wagner.
Wish he stuck with him, because no one accompanies a vocal performer like Wagner
But then again we might not have had Alice Cooper's classics as well.
That i listen to basically to feel Wagner's playing.
Working with Alice Cooper, Dick Wagner constructed nis very signature riffs to always accompany but never out shine the Lead.
Alice Cooper is a very vocal centered band, with his sinewy pipes for sure the center of the band's music.
Wagner actually started working with AC on Love it to Death.
I'm coming off of a deep dive of Alice Cooper and am infatuated with Dick Wagner, and Steve Hunter, though i think that Wagner is the main arranger
So naturally I'm onto Berlin, and the live albums after.
      Amazing stuff.
The exlamitive and bashing piano chords on lady day were for sure written on a guitar
I would love hear that one with all those intense chords done on Guitar..
Anyway, i found a Wagner Nugget, an Italian band that he basically joined and wrote an amazing album for, is The Mugshots, the album i Know he is on is called Love Lust and Revenge
Just thought id pass on These tidbits and this deep cut.
      From 2011 btw.
But Wagner still sounds like Wagner

The legendary 'Rock n Roll Animal' band. I love Lou Reed's "dark" style in this brief 72-73 period. I looked for the full concert, but never found any favorable results. It's a shame, but at least we have this cool fragment. Thanks for sharing!

This is the first show in Paris as a solo singer in september 1973. Journalists used to say Lou looked like a big panda because of the black eyed make up. Rock and roll animal show was later in december with Lou with a short hait cut before the next spring he came back with the peroxided haircut and the thin speedfreak body.

Christian is there any video that exists of the GREAT Rock n roll Animal band that you cited and the names susan Michelson gave above here? That is perhaps the greatest Live album in the Rock n Roll era-just as good as Get Yer Ya ya's Out. I saw the Sally Can't Dance show and it was nowhere as good as that band and show.

By far, this is not Lou's first solo show. His first solo show was in Buffalo, New York in April, 1972 with The Tots as his supporting band.
