Hearts of palm makes for a great seafood vegan substitution, in terms of its texture, when it's chopped in a food processor. I've used it before to substitute bacalao (dried salted cod fish) in a caribbean dish I used to make before going vegan, and it was delicious. I just seasoned it the same way I used to season my bacalao dish. So, when I saw your recipe for your "no crab" cakes I knew this would be a winner. I especially LOVE the fact that you put chickpeas in it which adds protein and extra nutrients. You are a vegan culinary genius! 😊
Having my New Orleans family roots, I too added Cayenne Pepper to my seasoning mix. I also added some ground bay leaves that I prepared in my coffee grinder to give the bay seasoning a little hint of the Old Bay Seasoning which I can't consume because it gives me a headache. These No-Crab Cakes are so good. Thank you for this recipe, and thanks for all of your quick, easy and to the point recipes. You're the new man in my life now. 😊😅❤😊

Another restaurant quality spectacular entree with perfect sauces. I can also imagine shaping the patties more rectangular for placement in a whole plant french bread to make a healthy alternative to fried oyster "Po Boys". Home run !! Serious "Wow" factor !

Hey Javant! It's been a while, I've been in my med school application grind, plus the WFPB coaching/mentoring! Even though I've never had crab cakes before (even before becoming WFPB Vegan, I wasn't really a fan of crustacean seafood), I definitely want to try these! I do have to say, your creativity is amazing! When it comes to getting the recipes just right, is it a lot of trial and error? It's really amazing how pretty much any animal food dish or sauce can be made into WFPB Vegan, or as you say- Healthy Vegan (HV) style :) P.S I can only imagine how popular a restaurant would be with you as the main chef with all these epic dishes!

My intention is to show people that deprivation doesn't have to be a part of transitioning to Healthy Vegan. Maybe someday I will be approached by someone who wants to use my recipes to start a restaurant, or chain. I would be open to this, but I prefer to use my energy and efforts to empower rather than cater to people's HV needs. Money is not part of the equation for me (which is usually the motive for a restaurant) , I am driven by passion and purpose.
