I'm also in the process of creating my own simple and easy to follow beginner friendly vegan cookbook. This cookbook will include simple recipes, replicating some of your favorite foods you are used to eating but veganized (yes, I said veganzied lol). Once again I want to thank EVERYONE who has supported me so far!!!!
Ingredients:
1 can of artichoke hearts (left this out in the video..sorry)
1 can of hearts of palm
1 - 2 TBPS of vegan mayo
1/2 tsp of smoked paprika (season to taste)
1/2 tsp of garlic powder (season to taste)
1/2 tsp of black pepper (season to taste)
1/2 tsp of sea salt (season to taste)
1 tsp of old bay (season to taste)
Mustard...(season to taste)
Seaweed of choice
Saltine crackers...no more than 8-10
Grape seed oil for frying
What to do:
Pulse artichoke and hearts of palm in food processor until you get crab meat consistency....Transfer to bowl...add the remaining ingredients into a bowl.
Chill for 30 mins to an hr
Mold into cakes..lightly coat with flour
Pan fry in grapeseed oil until golden brown and then flip
Enjoy

I don't understand how this video doesn't have more views than this. It should have at least a couple of million.
I used dried seaweed paper snacks and just crumbled them by hand into the palm fruit mix.
I made deviled "crab" style instead of the cakes and baked them and topped with paprika afterwards.

TFS... I grew up in PG county MD...my mama always used cracker meal and in a pinch she used saltines, put them in plastic bag and crushed them with rolling pin....and like you said Old Bay is essential 👌🏽

I was looking for a vegan crab cake recipe and the minute you said you were from Maryland, I knew this was the recipe I wanted to try! I live in Maryland so we don’t play about our crab cakes.
Yes well I’m not from MD but I’ve live here long enough lol...and yes...yak don’t play when it comes to crab cakes...hopefully you like my vegan version and feel free to adjust the recipe to your liking🖤
I grew up in PG County but my dad and grandparents were from Charles County. Often, we'd go to Captain Billy's for crabs.

Very nice! Glad your daughter is helping. I just found this after trying to make vegan crab cakes using canned jackfruit and shredded king trumpet mushrooms. Also shredded daikon radish. I just came up with it because I didn’t have hearts of palm. I used less seasoning. They were good with Russian dressing I made with vegan mayo and ketchup with a little hot sauce. Next time I’ll use palm hearts, and make some tartar sauce. Keep up the good work!

That's great having your daughter helping. Some of my favorite childhood memories was learning to cook with my family. Those crabless cakes look great. I'm adding hearts of palm to my shopping list next week so i can try this out.

I noticed your smoked paprika is from Trader Joe’s. They have cans of hearts of palm for $2.49 now. About half the cost of elsewhere. (I love eating them out of the can, so my pantry is stocked with about four cans right now.)

Where do you shop for vegan market besides for Whole Foods or Mom's i want to try some vegan dishes but having issue with the ingrediants like oyster, lionmaines or trumpet mushrooms. Would it help preserve the texture of the hearts of palm to hold them in the food processor till your mayo thru crackers are combined, then fold in the hearts of palm?
Also, I’m not a fan of seaweed salad. Can I leave out the dulse?

You say 1 teaspoon in the video but listed 1/2 teaspoon in written directions. Which is it?
Did you use artichoke in your mix or you just left it out in general by choice. I picked up everything you said then I read the print and seen you mentioned about the artichoke 😔
