- This video focuses on the advantages of Malta as a retirement destination for UK citizens. It highlights factors such as the pleasant weather, low crime rates, and excellent healthcare system. It emphasizes the ease of integration into Maltese communities, thanks to the widespread use of English. Eric and Tracey also note the affordability of living in Malta compared to the UK, as well as the robust property market and convenient travel options.
They look at the tax benefits or retiring under the Malta Retirement Program.
Do like I do. Spend your summers in cooler climates and spend winter in Malta when it's green. :)
I was thinking that. I couldn't do Jun-Aug in Malta
winter in malta can be extremely cold, especiall at night, a damp cold that goes through your bones. Cold wind off the african desert coming across the water
@@equatorialcat4569 Highly exaggerated comment. I'm assuming you live in the tropics.
@@burt3907 correct assumption burt. are you saying in your round about way that what i said is not true? i speak from experience in malta
@@equatorialcat4569 I reside in Australia, but I was born and brought up in Malta. I know that winter is NOT EXTREMELY COLD as you put it. Yes we used to wear a woolly jumper indoors, because there was no central heating, but not cold in the extreme like you would find in northern Europe, after all, this is the Mediteranean not the black sea. There are many north Europeans who go to Malta for the winter, because it is much milder . As for you, coming from the tropics, I can understand why you felt very cold, and that is because you are not acclimatised. Likewise, I have been to the tropics many times, and I always found it hard to cope with the high humidity and heat, but I know that if I'd live there long enough, I would be able to cope and acclimatise . Hope that explains it all.
My dad lives in malta been about 20 times love the place no council tax bins emptied eveeyday cheap gas and electric don't blame anyone leaving England no where as bad
in winter it is super green. I have maltese ancestry though would not live there for a number a reasons. one of them being the value for money you do not get with property. being english speaking, Malta has attracted many brits and english speakers over the years, pushing the prices up. Can go to italy, which has much more varied landscapes with property at a fraction of the cost
Thanks for the insight 👍
Property prices in Malta are sky high and still rising because, foreign nationals are happy to pay. Sadly, this has priced the young locals out of the market, unable to marry and have a family and owning their own home.
£250k for a small apartment - well, that's on a par with east Berkshire, where In live. Well, Malta is a small and very overcrowded island, so that must be the main reason for high real estate prices.
Yes the island is very overcrowded
Depends where you live in Malta. My town Attard is not overcrowded ! But I wouldn't live in Sliema or St. Julian's or even Valletta.
What about Cyprus? Have you considered Cyprus as an alternative to Malta?
No, I haven't looked. Do they have a retirement programme?
@@Time2RetireUK Not sure what you mean by 'retirement programme'.
Very popular with the zionists from what I've seen.
