Good hook and knot But easier way to put egg on line. Take 30lbs flourcarbon line 7 inches long tie knot with it around leader use 2 pliers to pull knot tight clip leave a small tag end Put egg through hook pass flourcarbon knot and you are ready to fish. You can change soft beads so fast and they HOLD on leader. You can also use this knot for hard beads. I catch steelhead and Lakers all the time on this on the Niagara

Nice video where did you buy the small bumper beads you showed in thr video and what are they called?

Walmart and it's a bulk pack. Look for the smallest beads you can get. They're sometimes called "seed beads". I believe they are 2mm or smaller.

@@LightHavenFarm how do you set the hooks on soft beads?
I went to that spot and was getting bites but failed to set the hook.
my soft bead was 2 inches above the hook.
Do I set it hard or just pull it like an octopus hook?

Snelling a straight eye is not optimal.

It is in this situation following my instructions, the leverage is angled towards the hook set improving the effectiveness and holding.

This is my first year getting into beads for Salmon/Trout... I had a wildly succesful day which got me stoked on using them, and then I went home and tied up some rigs using a new to me fluorocarbon... somewhere in my mind I read that palomar knots are better for breaking strength with fluoro and tied that instead of the usual egg loop knot (kind of snell) that I had been using. I didn't put two and two together for a bit to realize that the palomar knot was sliding around on the eye of the hook and was messing with the angles for hooksets. Seeing the bobber go down so many times without a hook up was confusing. Using gamakatsu octopus hooks in size 2, ultra sharp and thin gauge wire with still a lot of turning strength.
