    I switched from this to tying a mono bobber stop on my leader. I leave a tag on the top part to catch my bead. Works great, keeps bead up better, I get to recycle old mono cut ends and leaders. Both ways makes for an easy bead change which is important!

    spent hours looking for this, thanks subscribed. Is there a size at a craft store or just find the smallest bead? Also is it worth trapping the soft bead between that small hard bead and a bobber stop above it to stop all movement? thanks again

    can you guise do a full set up with bobber to bead ?

    Just watched your clip on the bead knot. Thank you for the tech! My problem seems to be that the knot keeps ending up OUTSIDE the seed bead instead of inside. Can you advise me as to what I am doing wrong?

    • @ElevatedFishing
      @ElevatedFishing  3 роки тому

      Make sure you center the glass bead before you slowly start tightening down thr knot. Maybe make a few more or few less wraps depending on your leader size. 👍

      @@ElevatedFishing my knot kept breaking sometimes, i use 6lb leader and i do 10 wraps but it still breaks at the micro bead, so ive tried a figure 8 knot in the leader as a stopper and uv resin on the figure 8 knot, this works and my leader breaks at my hook now

  • @jasonmarlowe0

    Do you change bead by running hook through the bead and forcing over the stop, or do you cut your leader top and slide a new bead down the line to the stop?

    • @ElevatedFishing
      @ElevatedFishing  2 роки тому +1

      We slide the bead over the hook and up over the glass bead. Steelhead Stalkers soft beads are much more durable than other brands so this works well. 👍

      Buy some leader rolls. I've got a selection of 20 different beads tied up and ready to throw. Leave the bead on the leader and stick it back on the roll

    Nice. I was wondering how to rig these when I got my beads from you guys 😆 but I'm gonna have to disagree with one minor detail.... Use gamakatsu finesse wide gaps vs traditional octopus hooks. You can thank me later when you're hook to land ratio improves 😉

    I gave this a practice try. After pulling rubber band thru bead, the line towards hook was 90 degrees to the line from the float. " L" shape with bead at corner of "L". Let's see a video of you tying one bead this way please.

    You say "For opaque colors run the soft bead up over the glass beed" and "for transparent colors you run the soft bead up over the glass bead"? So you do the same thing for both colors?

    • @ElevatedFishing
      @ElevatedFishing  4 роки тому

      For opaque colors we run the beads on top of the glass bead for transparent we have the soft bead cover the glass bead. 👍

    Seems like alot more work than picking a hard plastic. Honestly I have not noticed any difference in my hook ups with a soft bead compared with a old fashion hard plastic. I'm not knockin the product. I tried it and have sore lipped some Steel. I wouldn't say it's less effective than traditional hard plastic but I would not say it's better either. The only difference is the time it takes to setup. Good thing I got plenty of time hahaha. I'll keep testing.

    • @ElevatedFishing
      @ElevatedFishing  5 років тому +4

      Thanks for watching. One difference we noticed is that salmon eat soft beads like bait. They will chew on them for long periods of time before we even need to set the hook. That simply doesn't happen with hard beads. 👍

    • @boblove6865
      @boblove6865 5 років тому +1

      @@ElevatedFishing I never usually target Salmon with beads but it makes alot of sense that they would chew it longer than a hard plastic. Great tip! Tight lines!

    fishing 4lbs leaders , what is your preferred method. It seems small dia leaders see weakened by this method , therefore I just loop leader through glass bead 7x.
    thx

      We used to do 10 to 12 wraps through to create more cushion for the lighter leader.

      Did the wrapping method work well ? You were not getting break offs at the rigging beads? I have a hard time getting the bead exactly where I want tying the bead knot.
