Head is the only guitarist I've met and had coffee with after a show. My friend made his acquaintance some way and was able to bring us all to his shows whenever he'd come to Greenville SC. After the show he came and hung out with us and we all talked and he bought us coffee. It was surreal how much of a nice and down to earth guy he was. Honestly one of the coolest moments of my life.

He is one of the few celebrities I truly would like to meet. I admire the guy and he got me into 7 strings. I would like to chill out with him and Munky also. I was trying to watch Munky play when I saw them and Disturbed in Columbia I believe it was but a girl kept knocking me around and almost started a fight so I just backed off and enjoyed the show. . BTW there is a 100 $ bill floating around with Dave Diamonds signature on it and I had to spend it in an emergency at Richmond Hill Ga. I wonder if a fan wound up with it .. hope so !
It is actually strange to hear a 7 string be so in tune, keeping accurate intonation, playing the chugging chords. And also the tone is just amazing.

@@metalheadblues Just other 7 strings I have played with the 25.5 scale length. The old MIJ Ibanez K7 and ESP......I forget which model. That's why Head said he loved the Evertune system.

EMG-81 is still the king of tightness. Fishman's trade a very small amount of tightness (still very tight) for more versatility

Those Evertunes looked like a gimmick to me at first but now I've seen what they do, I want one SOOOOO bad I can taste it . they taste like Freedom and metal ...................mostly metal.

I need to get an evertune for my MHK 7 i completely agree with you on the tuning stability, on long playthroughs it cant stay in tune well :( other than that it's an amazing axe
Just wondering if you couldn't lightly coat the bridge springs with something like plasti dip to keep them from ringing or have them powder coated or PTFE coated?
I gotta be honest. If you review a guitar I'm already interested in, I skip to the end of the video to hear the tones. Then I go back to the beginning and watch the rest. I'm constantly amazed at the range of the Fluence pickups. those cleans were right up my alley.

The company that makes Evertune bridges plans to release a new bridge with tremelo function. It's been years though, no idea if they'll pull it off.

I've had this guitar for a year now although mine looks more purple than blue. I don't know if mine is defective but it's happened two times now, I pick it up and it's totally out of tune after about one week without playing it. So I have to get the special key and tune all the strings again, after that it stays in tune during the entire session. Any insight? (By the way, when I say out of tune I don't mean a little out of tune, I mean extremely out of tune)
Right now this is my 1st and only right handed guitar and I absolutely love it :)! It was between this or Matt's signature 7, but I went with this one just to try to break out of my eclipse phase and try something different. I'm really enjoying it though I'm by no means a skilled right handed player yet. One day ;)

That's a beautiful guitar. I bought the Ibanez UV777 back in 2000 and it was ok until I got a Schecter Hellraiser and that guitar is awesome. I like the neck through and the neck is rounded instead of flat like the Universe. They do have distinct tones so it's fun to record with both . Im stuck in a hick town and can't find anyone to jam with. Thank God for some cool you tube channels ! Rock out y'all!

So you can't bend the strings with Evertune but when you start to tune lower with the tuners on the headstock you're giving free space for the string and within that free space you're able to bend. Can the string loose it's tuning within that free space that you've just given?

I have same guitar it's basically everything you said, only small issue is there is some sustain loss above 12th fret, not enough to worry me though, and only some frets/strings
thehoppo have that guitar looked at by a luthier...might just need a good setup

I’m told no more difficult than a Floyd, but you’re definitely going to want a pro to do it. It’s not a novice installation by any means, there’s a lot of routing involved
There are videos on line, from Evertune on how to install one featuring Fluff if memory serves me right. They'll give you an idea of if it's something you think your capable of. What I would say is if your guitar doesn't already have the routing for a trem you'd want to think long and hard about doing it yourself. Making a mistake could be catastrophic!
I've been telling myself I'm going to buy one of these since it came out and finally actually played one in person a week ago. It was a dinged up used SH7 and it still felt fucking killer.

Looked at a few of the ltd evertune 7 strings and the way they masked off the neck actually turned me off from the guitars ended up getting a Keith marrow mk2 mk7 which I have to tune pretty much every time I pick it up... should have gone for an evertune from solo guitars.
So forgive my ignorance, but do you really need to use a battery for these pickups? I tend to shy away from active pickups because I don't feel like replacing batteries. I like the guitar though.
You do need a battery for the pickups - even if you turn the preamp off with the tone control pulled out - no battery = no sound. It's a superb guitar btw!

I hear that the evertune helps tame some of the vibration from 7th and 8th srtring guitars. Would you agree?
Yea there is even and insane setting on it where you can keep it in tune and even bend the strings on the guitar and it won't change the pitch and it'll stay exactly in the tune that it's in. But whatever Tunes pricing on their guitars I would probably just get and Ola Englund 7-string instead it might be a little bit more cheaper.
A Solar 7 string with an evertune would be sick. Definitely my first choice.
I have a serious question for anyone that uses the evertone . I am seriously considering buying this guitar and wondered about people who play a whole step down if this might compensate for my sloppy playing.. I mean really it's easy to bend out a quarter by playing aggressively on slack strings and This should compensate but then it may affect bends ?????

Should i get a 7 string? Currently i play 6 string guitar only because its so fun with really big hands i can do legato so easily on the thin neck, could i still wrap my thumb around the neck on a 7 string? thats the only thing keeping me from buying one.
Was never a fan of Korn but I would get this guitar. Love the features, especially the oiled neck, and it was awesome to play when I tried it out. Everything I would want in a 7-string.
Korn inspired me to start playing guitar back around 1998.

How can it be a neck thru after its been routed to fit the large mechanism and the pickups?
The guitar is assembled first and then routed
@@kristijankocjancic3236 yes I know. I am saying after it is routed and the center neck wood is no longer thru to the end of the guitar, how can it still be neck thru. Its like a one piece maple cap but the maple cap has been bookmatched.

Maybe one day you can decide to try out one of the LTD Black Metal guitars that they have (there's a super strat, a single cut, and v body), and then give your opinion on what you like/dislike about it.
And, of course, if you can't play the black metal genre then that's fine. Andrew Baena did one of his just only in metalcore/deathcore.

8:03 Evertune does not ring, probably the springs in pickup rings do. Check them out and tape them off :) It was the case on my guitar with evertune

Hands-down the best LTD you can buy right now. I had one for about a year and loved it; only let it go because I’m still just an Ibanez guy at heart and I find it difficult to stray from FujiGen guitars.
I do think they should have gone without the pickup rings on the SH-7 though.

It sounds amazing. When you were picking the high notes on that distorted channel they game through so clean. With a 7 string I expect the chug to drown out those notes, but that didn't happen and I was impressed.

I know I'm so late on this BUT @agufish was their any issue with recording a 120 watt peavey into the torpedo live ? Anyone else know?
Nope. None whatsoever. Just don’t crank the thing to 10 so you’re not pushing the full 120W and you’ll be fine! As backup, I also now have the line thru from the Torpedo go into a Rivera RockCrusher. It has a 120W capacity rating, and it seems to bring back some of the low end and fullness in direct recordings!

I've heard nothing but great things about Evertune, until when you mentioned that you can't bend the strings without the special tuners. Did I hear that correct? It's great that it stays in tune but it seems like it would suck to not be able to bend and do vibrato.
I'm pretty sure you will be able to bend the strings without special tuners. I believe Ola Englund has a video on it.

It may be just me, but Head and Ibanez we're for me like the perfect circle. Now, LTD is awesome too, bit it's like Ibanez was the thing for him, and he was stuck with it for so long. I guess it was time to part, which strangely makes me a bit sad.... The kind of fealing like when he left Korn... It will never be the same...
