Naerel James first mod : intercooler! Just make sure youre pumping 93 octane , if by doing so you feel its not fast enough, get tune from a reputable tuner. And deff another must is tire mod! Get You a cobb tuner and what ever bolt ons you want especially a intercooler, race intercooler trust me( the big one) and go with PD tuning. You will not be disappointed. These guys have tuned my car and its way better than the cobb preloaded tunes. The cobb preloaded tunes my gas milage went down. With PD tuning my gas milage went back up to 32mpgs and its much faster.
My first mods in my 2018 10speed was a downpipe and a cobb turboback exhaust, it was very easy to install, im planning on getting a wastegate actuator, oil catch can, and real tires next, and a intercooler then tune
I do most of my own maintenance a lot of people. Great video I use synthetic oil cheaper to do at home. Use approved SN plus oil for turbos. Higher flash point than conventional.
I liked the video, and would like to add something, paint protection. I'm thinking about a new Ecoboost in Grabber Lime Green with the blackout package. The first thing I would do is stripe it and or wrap it the way I like, then ceramic coat it.
Thinking about getting one within a year (2017 to be exact) I do not plan on racing it or pushing it to its limits at all really. Daily driver, gonna maintain it properly, coolant and oil, tires, all checked each time never going past mileage. Eventually I want to do all servicing by myself Hopefully it’s not my first car I wouldn’t want that but if I see a grabber blue one that’s well maintained, fair price, clean title and such, imma buy it because they’re pretty rare. I’ll just take short distance drives even though I’ll be responsible if it is my first car. I’ll be a newer driver then. Around 20 years old super late 😅Anything longer drive I’ll just take my moms Honda. Is there ANYTHING I should know at all, any upgrades that would be necessary for reliability and longevity? Would it be dumb to put Plus/mid grade into it or should I just go for premium? Or it doesn’t really matter? Sorry if my comment is all over the place. Most of my mods will be exterior, I’d want to paint it a certain way and a gt350 style track pack spoiler.
Enjoy your point of views, very logical. Just bought a 16 Ecoboost stock and am trusting your input more than most as Im trying to decide where to go with it 👍
Just bought a 2019 ecoboost. Was starting to get worried with all these videos of people blowing their engines and other problems. Planning on keeping it stock and not modifying it.
Get the Ford performance power pack ( tune and cold air intake) It really wakes the car up. Honestly the car should have came stock from factory with the power pack pre installed. For under 1k parts and labor it is more then worth it to get more power and not lose much reliability. I have had the power pack installed on my 2017 ecoboost since I bought it new back in late 2016, Its going on 5 years now and I have had no issues with the engine being tuned (with ford parts and by ford dealer). do not leave those power gains on the table. DO IT! you will not regret it.
I already added this mods ariad intake down pipe resonator delet y pipe next gen axcel backs and will that misimoto innercooler give it more horse power
I have an eco boost & I live in Merced Ca here it gets really cold during the winter ( 13 degrees) during the summer it gets reallllly hot (100+ degrees) but my question is, does your oil temperature needle tilt a lot of hot, when it’s hot but when you turn on The AC it goes back to normal regardless of the temperature outside??
Yes. Running the AC runs the fans and cools the engine. It will take some power tho. If the car isn’t turning on the fan and the gauges are rising do not worry unless they reach the yellow portion of the meter. The car will kick the fan on and cool the car down quickly. You can have it tuned to do so earlier but that’s up to you
I have a 2016 ecoboost mustang and have modded it a little bit and it’s starting to give me some problems. Added a catless charged down pipe with a turbo smart blow off value with upgraded intercooler and intake with a Cobb tuner. When I go to floor it it’s like it’s low on gas the engine keeps cutting out but after awhile of doing it it stop sputtering any help? I use premium gas as well for the tuner
@@ElvisCarReviews was after the mods did the tune last and was a flash. Pluged it in and downloaded the stage 2 made sure I had what I needed to get it. I was seeing others saying it could be the low fuel pressure sensor?

Good luck.
While the 2.0 Ford EcoBoost engine and its later 2.3 variant share a cylinder block with the L3-VDT and are derived from the Mazda L architecture, little else is shared between the EcoBoost and L3-VDT and they should not be confused with one another.
