The game is simply too stressful. Progression is stressful, raiding is stressful. And you cannot "optimize" this stress, you can just bypass -it- **some of it** (edit) if you swipe. Optimization in LA means playing more characters, more time, which in term means interacting with more of the same stressful systems which are all plagued by RNG. For me , the 6 weekly roster is too much. Either implement rested bonuses for Raids, or a system to play fewer characters weekly (set up 1 gold earning = 300%, 2 chars = 200% x 2, 3 = 150% x 3 ... )
you can't bypass it with swiping because others may decide not to swipe and even then there are plenty of patterns that punish you for failing them regardless of the quality of your character the only way to bypass it is if you get good and form relationships with other likeminded players with similar skill and progression capability which in itself is very stressful because not everyone wants to plan their gameplay around others nor want to be good a lot of ppl just want to press buttons and a lot of current raids don't allow to just press buttons
@@MostWantedWannaBE Ho leee .... these white knight players, with 5k+ hours, with the "just git gud" mentality . What is fun in honing ? what is fun in elixirs ? what is fun in lobby syms/jails? all these are stress inducing. How many "likeminded players with similar skill and progression capability" are there left? how many will there still be in 6 months. "git gud" is not the problem of the game ! And what do you mean you can't bypass with swiping ? throw 100k at a lobby and they will buss you in anything.
@@MostWantedWannaBE what is there to read ? your only solution is getting a static , which is an alternative that you agree is also stressful. you have no solution to alleviate the stress from any of the systems. And don't flame people. "a lot of ppl just want to press buttons" . You would never accept low ilvl/roster/gem players, how can said players develop their skills if nobody gives them any chances. You have no idea how horrendous the experience for new/returning players is when they need to leave solo raiding cause there are not enough players to run with. The game need all the players it can get and retain , good or bad , casual or not. And the game need to teach them better or lower the difficulty . For me, some of the solutions would be more forgiving RNG , and roster reduction , but for others definitely is lower difficulty, both of raid and community integration.
I have some nich idea but I don't how I can make a good report that WILL be review. Especially for class I main or system that doesn't benefit game long term or even short term. What would you do ? (I already tried on the lost ark official game feedback but it seems my feedback is has too much explanation..)
Unfortunately, we can't really know what feedback will be read and what will be glanced over or even worse just automated into the void. I think the best ways to go about it is to make it more public which allows more people to give their thoughts and opinions on it. Feedback on the discord/on reddit. If something pops off and trends there, mods and such are more likely to read it or if it gets popular enough a streamer might use your post for content.
AGS was slow to push SG to make changes. Matt on board seems to be helping. SG needs to be more willing to push back on the toxic whales and sweat lords. Yes these are the players most of the money comes from but they get burned out and quit easily too. They need to look better than the casual/average player. So without the casual/averages they can’t flex so they quit anyways. Old power systems need to be retired or fast tracked as new systems come out and move that window when new stuff comes out. At this point SG encourages gate keeping. Design the game around pugs and average player skill. Keep hell mode for those that want a challenge.
Targeting 1 type of player is discrimination. Without those sweat lords and whales the game wouldn't be the same. I agree old power systems should just be included in character progression now. Normal mode is designed around pugs. I have been puggin HM since the beginning. What you want is to balance the game around bad players and that makes for a boring game.
Totally agree that Lost Ark can become a great game again, I stopped playing this game after 6 months when it first came out. I was hyped about the release of this game and kept up with it for years, got all my friends on board and they loved it as well but after half a year of playing we all got burnt out. We returned last month and what I can say is the potential is definitely there, you put it perfectly, for now these changes are just bandages and I look forward to seeing the future of the game. But I think people that argue 'the game is what it is' might forget, they might enjoy the game but at the end of the day this is a business for AGS and if it isn't doing too well, the game will eventually shutdown or just slowly die which is what was happening after the first year of release anyway. So I think the next logical step is 'how do we make this business rack in money' i.e how do we retain players and bring in more players. Anyway, love the vid man, been enjoying your content a lot recently. P.S. I hope you drop some content on 2XKO, game is fire!
@dekko33 Thanks, and yeah. Looking forward to more characters in 2XKO. The only definite for me so far is Ahri main. She was really enjoyable in the beta, with Yasuo and Ekko a little behind. Ekko is pretty fun and I still think that character will probably always be the best with how nutty his mix can be. @puma21puma21 You're right in the fact that the patches bring people in then the count goes lower. Players get baited in by surface level changes and then they realize that ultimately nothing has really changed. Making one time experience systems more tolerable are great, but I don't think people are quitting over those systems over just core systems. Also I think this is the best way to respond to two in the same chain idk
I played Lost Ark religiously for 2 years. Had 6400 hours at Thaemine release when I quit. The biggest mistake I made was playing the game and hoping it would change for the better. The game is still trash and Smilegate is allergic to making decisions that are healthy for the players. Korean players have Stockholm syndrome and the west as a majority has left the game. Playing Lost Ark and hoping it will change is like trying to change an abusive ex.
That's pretty much how I felt for a very long time, but I do think lately they have given a little hope. Taking in Tencent changes, admitting LOA has failed in the West and them talking about changing it along with some other stuff. I think it is the best choice if you feel like the game is putting you in a bad place to leave it though.
@Jukwol wait, did Smilegate admit LOA failed in the west? I stopped playing lost ark but I've stayed subscribed and watched your videos. I may be a bit out of loop in terms of developer updates
I know there is alot wrong with the game but not actually saying what they need to change makes anyone reading your comment feel like you are just salty. Not hate just saying maybe actually point out what you would like changed. For me it was running chaos and guardians and unas and horizontal. I just got my last skill points after over 2 years of playing the game and i bot chaos dungeons and unas now because fuck that mindless daily content. Now the game is manageable but if i didn't start botting chaos and unas i would have quit by now.
5:00 Embers giving gold? Couldn't be me. Swear it's been 3 months since I've gotten more than 3k from an ember. Also those doomers, the ones who aren't giving constructive feedback who say things like the game is never gonna change, blahblahblah... are also outright wrong. The game HAS changed a lot since we first got it in the west. It continues to change, and will constantly keep changing. I get that some changes aren't as big as we'd like, and yes, we'll always need more changes as time goes forward. But the game isn't the same it was even 1-2 months ago. And it's not just because they added a new system with another gold sink--which they did. I'm not fully happy with the game, mostly because I have no one to play with anymore again. There's still plenty of things I wish they'd do to make it even more welcoming to new players. But at least their efforts and especially their communication have been a big moral booster lately. I just hope the player base or even the former player base stop trying to push new players away. Not everyone has to play the game the same way you did--they can stop if they don't like it.
Double embers be popping off lately with doing rested runs only. And yeah, while those people are wrong. As long as they kind of say what they hate/why they quit etc. I think it's better than saying nothing. When there's smoke, there's fire. Ultimately until the community can stop feeling like you have to have no job, no life or a lot of money to keep up with the game, they won't stop telling people to run when they ask if they should play Lost Ark. I think a lot of people wish they could recommend LOA to new people, but they stop after realizing how degenerate they are at the game. I don't think the community is 100% at fault for this as this is a result of how the game makes them feel while the other 98% who tried the game just left. If the game actually did respect your time, a lot of this would be solved.
What do they not understand. We had less time to collect materials AND STACK GOLD. You can't just give us more materials and expect us to use it to hone without the gold. KR 6 months, NA 3 months then we should get double the gold and double the materials. I don't get what is so hard to understand here. Instead of slamming us with some mats towards the end of the tier to force people into buying gold because they don't have any. Literally just give us what we missed in time via a ratio not random amount of free mats.
Prior to Henry it doesn't seem like anyone internally is actually like a super hardcore into the game. I think they genuinely did think that things like the event vendors were enough. And to do something and be wrong with it isn't an unforgivable sin, the lack of action to correct course I think is what really made people leave without looking back.
@@Jukwol I mean its not a mistake if you did it intentionally. You can't tell me they did not know giving us half the time between content releases would leave us crippled for all materials and gold.
