Fuck Russia and all their supporters. Glad Wukong won, even more glad that the failguard got nothing at all. Nothing in this universe will be enough for me to check outlaws. They should make a sequel to republic commando, that would be amazing.
I'm playing this on pc and have no idea what the game breaking bugs are that people are talking about. I'm 20 hours in, and the worst I've experienced is major framerate drops in settlements after playing for hours at a time. By restarting the game, the problem goes away, and it's an easy bug for the devs to fix. What's more important is that this game is amazing. It's what all game devs should aspire towards. The amount of thought and love put into this game is something else, and something the modern AAA market has forgotten how to do.
I'm also on PC and and I've noticed a couple bugs The biggest one that I noticed is performance Other than that I also noticed textures glitching Trying to talk to people and nothing happening and I have about 25 hours in the game and in those 25 hours it has crashed 4 different times don't know why it is not a bad game it's very fun and terrifying but performance is my biggest complaint and my computer's not shut by any stretch Ryzen 7 7800x3d Rtx 3080 32 gigs ddr5 10tbs of Storage
It seems to me that people are most concerned about softlocks and memory saving issues, (which are rare) and a-life problems, which are not rare. All in all tho, definitely worth the 70 dollars I payed for it.
"Ubisoft should be commended for trying to fix their screw ups." Uh...no they shouldn't. What, are they doing us a favor or something? They are obligated to fix their screw ups.
@@muramasa870Yeah people comparing it to Cyberpunk are literally delusional. It’s got jank and the performance could certainly be better, but overall, it’s not poor enough to detract from my overall experience so far.
Let's add the context to Russia's incarceration part: the Russian MPs started to make a big fuss about the game after the head of GSC Games World, in the interview, confirmed that the revenue obtained from the sale would be donated to Ukrainian Military, which is a criminal offence in Russia given the current situation.
If it goes to only drone production that theoretically means buying stalker 2 ,results in some Russian front line soldiers dying. Or worse it could be sent to the Most capable battalions like Azov, that whilst competent, probably hold grudges about Russians in general But is it going to match Europe's 1 million shells, where each costs 3,500$ ?
The janky feel of the the original is what gave it its charm. Everything was dilapidated and falling apart, kind of like the game itself. This 'feel' is what contributed to the cult status of the first one.
tbh I found nothing to complain about, so far the only bug I encounter was minor physics bug with a barrel getting launched when I stabbed it and an injured guy floating above a bed during the first monolithian mission

I’m Ukrainian and a huge fan of the STALKER franchise. But God, I really hate this narrative, often spread by Western media: "Let’s understand the devs; they were working in harsh conditions." As a fan, I want more people to try the game because of its great setting and cool gameplay-not out of pity. If you like it, great. If you don’t or think it’s unplayable, that’s fine too. But please, let’s not create the image of Ukrainian devs as if they’re "begging" for good reviews. UPD: Tried Stalker 2 yesterday. And this was not a perfect experience: I had some trouble launching the game, but the game itself was running smoothly. Which surprised me after tons of various reviews. From my experience, this game, while having critical bugs, is in a better state than a lot of modern releases. And that's the second reason why I dislike this condescending tone from some journalists. It creates the false impression that the game is a "buggy mess" or "unplayable."

Firstly, all the articles about the "ban" of stalker in Russia are literally disinformation, which came from one lawyer, who suggested that this was possible in theory. Secondly, it is impossible to buy it because of the sanctions and the unwillingness of the DEVELOPERS to sell it in the Russian Federation. At the moment, there are no bans on buying or playing stalker on the territory of the Russian Federation.
No one gets jailed for playing Stalker 2 in Russia. This entire ban story originates from a Russian government worker who is famous for such statements, tho they never go beyond flashy news headlines. Russians can't buy it because steam doesn't allow it, GSC doesn't want it to be sold in Russia also, so availability of this game in Russia and jail sentence for playing it are 2 separate things, not related.
There is no jail sentence for playing it. That's nonsensical. It's only illegal to buy it because money from the sales are going to fund Ukrainian army.
@@1stRanger well yeah, I didn't mean for just playing it, for buying it. But my point was that it wasn't Russia to ban this game, it's just noone is selling it to them.
If a company doesn’t want to sell in a specific country what’s wrong with that especially when individuals do that too it’s called boycott. Companies do similar things, sometimes they won’t sell in a certain region. It’s 100% their call
You’re not telling the whole story about Stalker 2 in Russia. First of all, the game is not sold oficially to Russian Steam users - there’s restriction on that made deliberately by the company that developed it - they don’t want Russian players playing it and even removed Russian language from the game for that matter (although everyone knows 100% that developers themselves speak mostly Russian and know Ukranian quite badly). Second of all, GSC was actively supporting Ukranian armed forces and in current situation this could make it “extremist organization” in Russia - yeah, that’s the law here. BUT it wasn’t named extremist organization yet and there were no any official comments or any government imposed ban on the game - only speculations by some lawyers. Maybe officials don’t want people to buy the game (and that’s the reason why there are such publiactions in Russian media), but there’s no any restrictions for that at the moment.
why is the fact that the developers were born under the Soviets, where Russification took place, considered a fact of their hypocrisy? Russian Russian was spoken by them and they even addressed the Russians before the attacks on the CHP in winter and the massacre in Buchi, as well as many Ukrainians.
The game was available on torrents within hours of release, so everyone who wanted to play it in Russia have already done it lmao. This is how it works here in Russia: first you finish the game, and if you really liked it, you can buy it. Buying games on steam from Russia is possible, but requires a lot of additional steps that nobody wants to take. Much easier to download it for free.
There are several reliable key/gift online stores/marketplaces too and the keys are then directly activated in your steam without any additional steps.
Russian players are also pissed because at the start of the SMO the GSC told them to fuck off no matter what. Mind you that in Russia and former PACT countries, STALKER have a big following.
The only dudes boycotting stalker two in Russia among creators are just an ixbt journalists on their streams. Things that people actually don’t like in Russia is that it runs as shit and didn’t get russian dub, not it being ukrainian. Also the jailing thing is a fake created before it’s release that got turned into propaganda in west. If anything, developers banned it in steam for Russians in steam, not government, if anything all those takes should be said to developers
@@brightboar4421 I replayed stalker 1 before playing stalker 2 and didn't even notice the bugs in 2 until reading and hearing other people talk about the game... somehow i felt right at home^^
You are wrong about the premise of the game. It was not the meldown or the radiation itself that caused the zone with all the mutants and anomalies; it was earth's noonsphere/Schumann resonance experimantation that resulted in all of this.
The stalker 2 coverage is completely moronic honestly. 1. The reason for terrorist game comes from the part that GSC has been openly supporting ukrainian army, which is, surprise, considered to be an act of terrorism if you are giving money to entity openly supporting the country you are at war with 2. Stalker 2 can't be bought in russia not because russian government blocked it, but instead because GSC and western companies have been sanctioning lots of software. GSC specifically because since 2022 it has been a standard for ukrainian individuals to boycott or request sanctions against russians online and offline. Another thing which GSC has done is complete replacement of russian language from the game after the war has started. 3. The whole 'russia's government will be labeling you terrorist for playing stalker 2' is pretty much baseless and extremely unlikely statement.
I watched the documentary about the making of stalker. I was under the impression that GSC were the ones that pulled support for the Russian audience due to the ongoing conflict.
worse. they made the game in Russian, at the time of 2021 when they wanted to release it the game was barely ready and was made entirely in Russian - voice acting and text
It is not due to ungoing conflictt. Kiev regime literally banned an entire language eand religion, there are no elctions/selecions, but cia shill trolls want to say they ar supporting democracy as usual by funding a a kiev totalitarian regime.
7:36 One reason for the proposed game ban in Russia is due to the developers allegedly collecting donations for Ukrainian Armed Forces through their official website. If a developer in the West collected donations for, Idk, ISIS let’s say, and did this openly, something very similar would occur here as well. I’m not defending the authoritarianism of banning a game, I am providing additional context missing from this video.
I'm sorry, are you comparing a ukranian developer, collecting donations for their internationally recognized armed forces who are currently being invaded by neighboring country to supporting a terrorist organization?

The purchase of Stalker in Russia is impossible not because of the government, but because of the ban on the sale of the game by the publisher. As for the prison term, this topic was raised by 1 official and 1 lawyer, and not by the Government of the Russian Federation. Please check your sources. Sorry for the machine translation.
Stalker 2 Devs have been donating to Ukrainian army therefore it's not really surprising why Russia doesn't want russians giving them any money Edit: ironically the vans that Stalker 2 Devs sponsored are now being used by mobilisation units to STALK Ukrainian men in order to force them into the army.
You know, it occurs to me that this is a lot like china's PRC government, except the companies that give money to the Ukranian army are doing it because they want to. That and they can be transparent about it.
Was I already planning on playing Stalker 2 because of the first game? Yes Am I DEFINITELY GOING TO BUY IT AND RECOMMEND IT TO FRIENDS now that I know the Russian government considers it terrorism? Also yes. This may come as a shock to Russia, but the vast majority of the free world absolutely despises them for trying to start WWIII by pitifully invading Ukraine like a bunch of barbarians with no self-awareness.
Game is much easier and more approachable for modern audiences. This ruined the game for me because it’s essentially a 2007 hitscan shooter with a 2024 open world. That is not why I enjoyed stalker. I enjoy what the community has made with the stalker games as a backdrop, it serves as a great platform for hardcore survival mechanics with mods. Unfortunately the previous games had about 70% Russian dialect (representing how most Ukrainian spoke this as the national language during the Soviet era and the game is based on Soviet fallout). Now all dialects are Ukrainian, so naturally the country at war with them is not gonna tolerate its sale when the Russian part was either reduced or diminished. That’s just how it is, I speak Russian, and I can pick up on about 60% of what is said in the game but I imagine what the game could have been if they kept more of the original style tone and even engine. Stalker anomaly gamma is a more complete experience with much more to offer despite lacking the cinematic. I liken what they did to this series like how they did the triple a ification of the Metro series. Metro had its most successful game in the series but I would say the story was the weakest. Many devs seem to follow this trend, but GSC had 15 years. Too bad their country got overthrown by the cia in 2014 starting us on this timeline
Basically they made metro a lot easier and more predictable in favor of cinematics instead of letting the gameplay do more for the player. This is why I don’t like the triple a mentality of “press a to do animation of the muffin thing” I need a bit more skill and strategy beyond taking a three second stim animation to get back to full health after a mutant pushes me to the floor. This shit is basically a kids game compared to what the old metro/ stalker was like, the game did not show you mercy and kept the adrenaline going whereas now stalker 2 is fallout 4 when shadow of Chernobyl and call of Pripyat are like the new Vegas of the series. It’s buggy and broken but mods can polish the shit out of that turd enough for you to see the ray tracing on that thing. RTX on!
Lmfao I've played the entire metro series on max difficulty and stalker 2 I incredibly harder. The fucking bloodsucker in the tutorial kept one shooting me before I could see it. Maby if you play on tookie it's easy but veteran has been hell feeling super fragile

It's funny how everyone ignored the fact that Developers themselves banned the game to be sold in Russia. You literally can't buy the game in Russia because of it.
Atm S2 is not prohibited in Russia, there are no laws about it etc. You can't buy it on Steam in Russia because GSC does not sell it in that region. That's the extent of it for now. This can change IF officials find something in the game that they consider to be worthy of banning, will that happen is anyone's guess, but for now it's much fuss about nothing honestly. There were no official statements regarding that game.
Technically in STALKER there was the 1986 CNPP disaster but that didn’t create the zone, I’m pretty sure a second disaster happened in game that caused the zone to be created thanks to scientific research going on in the exclusion zone.
There is entire plot where game devs of Stalker 2 cut off voice actors for russian in-game audio. Basically voice actors did most of the localization work, just to be dropped. The game was released with, surprisingly, russian text, but no audio. As for Russia demand not to buy game: ukrainian devs spent funds on buying cars for mobilization patrol in Ukraine, maybe also drones. So technically buying this game also supports Ukraine military in some sense. Game was in development since 2009, war started in 2022. So I would not blame war as main issue why game is a mess, also taking into consideration older Stalker games were never polished upon release, or after.
It's not in "some sense". GSC stated that money coming from Russians would be spent on Ukraine's military. They also kind of wanted to imprison as many Russians as they could with that strategy. Devs said about it in the discord.
Hilarious to me that people want to excuse the bugs when Stalker was the game that popularised the term "slavjank" to refer to eastern-european developed games buggy nature. I've not played it yet. Like with everything... I'll pirate it once it seems stable. Once it's had a few patches.

The Euro jank isn't new to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series and you can give them slack because of Ukraine and Russia along with the relocation of staff. Either way it is a pretty popular series in Europe and in recent years got some popularity in America.

Back in the days, when a game wasn't finished on time, they released a ''demo''. It was free, and it was a very good ad for the future game release. Many games became really well sold because of that. Also you could quickly know if the game was for you, or not. I discovered many of those great games with those demos. Shame that the industry became so predatory.
War has nothing to do with the state of the game, the originals are still buggy and broken (even after the re-release) and that's when the original devs were still there, not forming 4A Games and making Metro because the management was hording all the money, buying Ferraris and underpaying but overworking them in deplorable work conditions. ALL STALKER FANS know this. Its not new news, its just history repeating itself. Ukraine is known for half-assing the work and coruption... Why do you think they rushed it out unfinished? It's also possible the devs had to rush release because time was running out... like their passport needed renewal or visa needed to be extended, etc. They'd need papers from Ukr embassy which won't be issued unless they present valid documents showing they are reigstered for military draft... and being registered nowadays effectively means an immeidate deployment to the frontline after 3 days of training. Or they might have already received summon for mobilization so needed to push launch before reporting to the training center.

Haven’t really had any bugs with S.t.a.l.k.e.r. 2 I mean I wish game devs in safe and good conditions could make something half this good, while the people who made this game had to move from a country actively at war, while some of your senior devs are fighting for their country and the rest are working under very Poor conditions.
Yeah I’m 30 hours in and the bugs have been few and far between, it’s crashed once when I was walking back to the “starter” base
I'm also on PC and and I've noticed a couple bugs The biggest one that I noticed is performance Other than that I also noticed textures glitching Trying to talk to people and nothing happening and I have about 25 hours in the game and in those 25 hours it has crashed 4 different times don't know why it is not a bad game it's very fun and terrifying but performance is my biggest complaint and my computer's not shut by any stretch

The fans are pissed right now the A-life feature is not working in the game. The NPCs are spawning right on the top of the players's head.
Sounds like the same issues with the first game. GSC procrastinated a lot during the development of the first game until THQ intervened. So, this is not surprising and has also nothing to do with current events.
It's an issue with the studio itself.

As for Russia demand not to buy game: ukrainian devs spent funds on buying cars for mobilization patrol in Ukraine, maybe also drones. So technically buying this game also supports Ukraine military in some sense.
