I do honestly think the main issue is SG and whole kr region with their mentality, they dont complain enough and just eat the shit theyre getting served so obviously SG isnt doing anything, looking at systems like elixir and transcendence that took so long to nerf and only once Our version started to complain a lot. I do believe that ags would do a lot more benefit to the game if they would have the ability to so like cn version, but they rely on SG which is just a greedy ass company who knows how to milk the kr playerbase. The game could stay just as hardcore for the people who love it while having many options for casuals to have just as much fun, making good progress on an easier level, less annoying and frustrating systems taking hours for no reason etc. Theres infinite ways to make the game better and most of us know how insane the Potential of lost ark is but its just not being used due to monetization, which is sadly the case for most games nowadays.
Yeah, KR doesn't complain as much for a couple reasons imo. The first being that they have a lot more time between content releases to actually get some gold, materials and settle down. While we are in an accelerated void. And as a result of that, we lose our more causal playerbase. This results with us being a super concentrated community of omega sweats on a low population server comparatively to the one the game is designed around. These two together really make our version a bit more painful, and while the events we get in the West have been good, they haven't been substantial enough.
I think what should happen, from AGS as well as players: 1. slow down the pace for the West. We don't need to catch up to KR in 2 months. There's really no reason to. 2. stop spreading this mentality that you need 6 chars to sustain your roster. You really need like 3 to comfortably get your main up to speed. Only make alts when you like how it plays. 3. Give everybody all cardsets. It is so stupid that they don't do that already. 4. Stop designing raids with multiple mechanics that result in wipes with a single mistake. Seems like Aegir is doing that so it's good. Hopefully they don't revert back to it when Brel comes out. Having 1 or 2 is fine, but when everything is like that, it's trash. 5. Stop locking progression materials behind hard mode raids. Let ppl be able to progress in end game with normal mode. Just have them give more of the same rewards in hard mode, not different rewards.
1. I don't think the concept of being and staying a couple months behind KR is really a bad thing. What makes it rough is really our rate of progression. 2. Yeah, I think the 6 character mentality is just something that stuck with us from launch when it made a lot more sense in the early days. Honing was less awful, we launched with brel being KR top and everything before that even near item level that was pretty easily clearable. But I also think the game itself should limit the roster. 3. Yeah, fuck cards om. 4. Yeah, like and to have them later in the raid is round. Like to waste like 10 minutes+ into a pull just to wipe to one mistake, oof. 5. This is one of my biggest disappointments. When they put Brel gear into all ancient, I thought they were finally going to standardize that design to have normal and hard be the same rewards, hard goes faster. And then Elixirs hit and I was like oh... tl;dr yes tru brother
@@Jukwolfrom what ags has been saying recently our version might not have hard mode locked progression in future raids (copium). Honestly if ags works on easing the grind, the release pace slightly and just fucking remove cards I might actually recommend this game to my friend. but man it sucks playing a game so much and enjoying it (sometimes xdd) and genuinely not being able to recommend it out of good faith.
5. Totally agree. They should remove the mats dif between nm and hm. I mean i dont mind covert mats from nm to hm like ratio 3:1 or sth like that, or even get less mats than hm. I'd like to play nm for the rest of my life because it easier to catchup, less stressful, less spent time, money and the most impotant i can enjoy the game.
Spitting straight facts. My thought exactly what I've been preaching. After one of my breaks between right before voldis release and right before thaemine release, I was taking 1-2 month break as well after echidna release, due to health issues, and burnout. Now, I'm just playing out of hope for the future, and just playing hell clown with friends a lot. If not for the chaos changes as well I don't think I'd even be doing them to be honest. Goal is to find something fun to do in the game, and stick to it till you enjoy it. Most fun I have in the game is going bozo with friends, and enjoying the class playstyles. I haven't yet cleared echidna, can't really be bothered getting jailed 12 hours a day to find a group where nobody many mistakes and does decent damage, and raids just keep getting released.
I think part of the problem truly is this feeling that you need 6 characters. I think you can get away with less as long as you actually make alts into actual alts and park them.
@@Jukwol the part of the problem is, that this game offers 25 different classes and you want to play test at least 6 of them in the endgame. Black Desert offers a copy gear system, so you can play all the classes if you want and you only have to gear up your main.
I am never playing a KR MMO ever again. I feel like when i play this game i have 0 respect for myself. I should have quit when the first gold nerfs hit the game.
Not gonna lie, I've played a lot of KR mmos and I think LOA is deadass the worst for respecting your time. No other game really felt this aggressive in a monopoly for your time.
Game’s gotten better, but we need solo raids for everything and asap, we’re not getting any new players, while consistantly losing players as well. Imagine trying to Prog Thaemine when T4 is out. Also, remove wipe mechs from NM, or just remove NM in general if it’s so similar to HM anyways. I’m not playing atm for all obvious reasons above, my main is screwed for T4 (Slayer main btw) and i’m strictly just sick of her burst meter upkeep, can’t main swap either since i’ve put too much time and money into her, and I refuse to jump into the toxic cesspool that is partyfinder. Give us solo Thaemine, rework my main, and i’ll gladly jump back in. Until then, i’m just fine playing other games. Lots of good stuff like Stellar Blade, DD2, Elden Ring SOTE, Black Myth Wukong, SF6, D4 and it’s upcoming expansion, POE2, and the list goes on. Hell, even WOW is worth jumping back into.
i really think poe 2 is gonna scratch that lost ark combat itch. it looks so good. plus MTX is cosmetic and stash tabs, you cannot buy any power. (unless you RMT)
@@Jukwol I’m sure a lot of us here can agree on that, i’ve been doing hw on 13 chars myself, definitely burnt out a bit. Gonna delete some of them when I hop back in. Enjoy yourself and have fun in WoW, i’ve heard good things about the latest update.
Same here! I gave up on Lost Ark after 7,8k hours in the game... And it is insane when u discover later how many other games have better design and options. When u take a break in other games, u never lose as hard as in lost ark unfortunately...
stopped playing LA last year (on GS 1500, ~700ish hours played) for 2 reasons: 1. gatekeeping was just too hard 2. playing 3 chars became such a chore that game stopped being fun to play looking at all the recent news game seems to be getting better, mb ill give it a second chance
For the East too, and another thing, they need to encourage new players to go to all solo raids at least 5 times. After the gold bound, I've seen a lot of new players going straight to group mode. For me, they should give a special reward on the first 5 reclears of each raid.
@@ylightloa its 2024 bro, MMO as you think is dead. Solo is what carrying the MMO in the past 10years, give them the choice to play with other people and play Solo. Its not hard, its not rocket science. some people just want to see people around them and that gives them comfort.
solo raids are 0 fucking fun, literally bored out of my mind doing em. Im playing an MMO to play with people, if I wanna run endgame solo and farm shit on my own all day id play PoE or Diablo, not Lost Ark. and so should you maybe.
There more you do these kind of real talks non glazing stuff the more I love your content, you are speaking out of my heart how I have been feeling about this game for a year now. I hope it will change but I lost hope in our current director. I want gold river back, he did mistakes but I think his vision for the game was a lot more healthy.
I glaze when I feel it's needed. But while T4 and such is good, but it won't save the game on its own. So I just want to hope for actual NA specific changes, but like, we've already lost so many that I don't think will come back. So oof. Goldriver made the changes to save the game from shutting down with transitioning to t3. I was hoping T4 would that big of a overhaul, but I guess they felt like in KR at least they could still redeem all of this.
I had high hopes for the solo raids, but was so slow to progress that I decide to quit, large group content is not for me anymore (4 man dungeon is not that bad ). I keep following the news cause you never know, maybe someday I can comeback.
I think that last line is key. Some people need to learn how to give feedback constructively. But I also am hopeful because of the better communication.
Yeah, and also there are people who think anything is just doomposting and tries to disregard/downplay. But you ironically doom the game when you try to say there is nothing wrong with the game but yet somehow you've lost like 90% of the playerbase.
I do love your videos, every time i watch them i hear objective and "chill" analysis about game's issues. No animosity and no toxic positivity either. Yes SG does 100% listen to the playerbase, only problem is they listen to super hardcore KR players. They have millions of gold accumulated from months of farming raids, so SG had to implement gold sinks, lock progression behind HM because they complained there was no reason to run them, implement tedious minigames because omg honing 1 button spam... So yes having AGS pressure devs more about our unique issues cold be a win as it is yoinking CN's changes that could also benefit us. I will never understand how SG let "the west" bleed players when the revenue was so good: LOA consistently topped steam's best selling charts. Month after month all despite the RMT... SG's inaction showed they do not care about NA/EU money, how is this possible? Personally I think the best to happen would be a competitor for LOA, a game with an engaging game-play, good encounter design and a style I will like. LOA needs something that will pressure devs to cater more to their players and stop milking as much as possible as you say. I do understand how SG is a for profit company and they exist for the purpose of making money, but my god as soon as I started digging a little in game design (loved watching Josh Strife's videos about p2w and mmos sins) I started noticing more and more ways SG is pitting players against each-others and creating punishing encounters to promote p2w. Sorry for the long post, love your videos, hope more people will watch them to promote awareness about LOA's issues.
I believe toxic positivity is just as bad for games as just being overly negative. EOD I enjoy the core of LOA and I want the game to be better so that it can not fall into the 100 players online abyss. And yeah, its pretty nuts how hard the game went in steam sales while being absolutely flooded with RMT om. And yeah, I'm a JSH enjoyer myself. His video on mmo content creator and just pushing the idea to just put out content for MMOs and not to spend too much time on each one since content gets dated is what really made me decide that I should throw myself into content creation. But yeah, LOA players are always flagged for PVP. Also thanks.
I dropped the game twice already because it took me over 30 minutes per raid to find a group. Guess what, after 2 years nothing changed and things only got worse. My main account finally caught up to the latest content and I have a few people I play together with so party finder isn't that bad. But then I tried playing on my 1k hours 170 roster lvl alt that only has los 18 and dd 30 and it's literally impossible to play - it takes like 2 hours to get accepted or build a lobby. If I was a new player with no friends in the game, I would uninstall as soon as I experienced the party finder. Even if I had friends in the game as a new player, it feels bad to get bussed everywhere because your character is just so much weaker than everyone else. At the same time, playing with newbies is just a waste of time anyway because they either contribute 0 damage or jail the raid.
Souls like difficulty doesn’t work in a party setting especially with multiple characters. If they want to keep difficulty lower characters or switch gears to more solo play. To me it’s a triangle and you can only pick 2. Hard game, more characters, or group play. LA has always had a bit of an identity crisis and tries to be multiple things.
I still think Valtan is kind of like the peak of design. While there are ways for people to die in a hit, most of the times (besides a mistimed orbs in g1) one person messing up a mechanic won't kill everyone. Meanwhile a lot of things that could lead to death have other solutions besides just do it right. Timestop/Sidereal.
Why do we focus so much on a MMO aspect of this game, when devs clearly dont (until recently for sure). Goldriver even said something along the lines "this game wont be for everyone and if you dont like it dont play it". And I dont really mind it, that the game require high skill. More of a problem is that it required so much time to keep up with progression and require high skill to survive in endgame content harsh environemnt. Summ of those two is what kills playerbase, cause not many people meet both criteria of being into long griding and being skilled.
Yeah, it's kind of weird that it's a mmo that doesn't really feel like a mmo. But yet you really need the community of a MMO to actually play the game. So yeah, LOA is a strange beast. I think if the progression and overall weekly chores were less, people would be more tolerable of wipes and resets in raiding.
For me, the main problem with this game, without a doubt, is the lack of "progressive nerfs" in the game. In this case, the difficulty for new games has increased A LOT since the launch. The difficulty that a new player feels in doing the current content is much greater than the difficulty that a player felt 2 years ago, in the Western launch. The nerfs that they made in old content and current content for new players (kayangel, akkan and ivory) are simply still too much for a new player. Look at the difference between these raids that a new player has to face and the T1 and T2 raids that players had to face years ago, it's simply ridiculous. Before, when a player started the game, he had to face much more "friendly" guardians, nowadays, they start by facing Hanumatan, who is one of the most difficult guardians (although very fun in my opinion). Another even more bizarre example is Kakul, which is a very old content, man, imagine a player who barely knows action combat mechanics, going to a raid like that, on this difficulty, is simply a bizarre thing. So there is NO POINT in them giving express events, while they don't make the content actually friendly to new players, content from Ivory Tower onwards, should be half or less as difficult as it is today. And despite having solo mode, which was the best thing they've done so far, many people don't enter an MMO to play alone, it's that simple.
Yeah, that's kind of a problem with the design of really continuing to build on top of your foundation with just a bunch of soft resets. Players got a lot of time on old content to get used to the game and learn a lot of core mechanics that will be reused and altered in raids to come. But now players do these raids like once and move on, or completely skipped with a power pass. This is ultimately why I wanted T4 to be a hard reset that disregards t3, so that new and current players can experience new content at basically the same starting point. Which also would come with a reset in difficulty to some degree. Since they kept trying to one up the difficulty of the last t3 raid, results in the content new players will actually experience normally is rough like you mentioned.
@Jukwol - You show Vindictus as a case study of what not to do but actually Vindictus is leaps and bounds better than Lost ark when it comes to new player expirience , gatekeeping (which dosent exist in Vindictus) and player progression. It's true that Season 2 of Vindictus have killed the game's popularity but in the last few years pretty much ALL the changes/patches in Vindictus have been pro-player and about how to help the player and reduce grind, its just they started caring about the player expirience only after most of them left, which is what happening with lost ark - changes only come after KR raises a stink about it, it happend with elixir and their recent failure with retaining new/returning players have brought about the trans changes and new express.
So while Vindictus has done a lot of things to actually fix the game and the progression is a lot better (All the mission skips and overall leveling up path like event things. I recently went back. But ngl I miss the Season 1 days where using items and grabs meant something. I'm the wow vanilla boomer of Vind) . Vindictus took too long to actually make all the meaningful changes. Like for gear to not have a chance of exploding during enhancement that was like what, mid season 3? Which like season 3 was 8-9 years after NA Launch. Like the meaningful changes happened while the game was on life support and in a state where they could only stop the bleeding.
@@Jukwol I still have my account with a Fiona that have the "early bird" title if you know what I mean, so I know how it was in season 1, Vindictus didnt only fix the gearing but also AP is a non-factor now and monetization is way waaaay better, than lost ark - money is mostly used to buy cosmetics, I also like the way they modernized combat to be faster and more reactive, also the design of some old classes was very lacking like Fiona small shield becoming useless after chapter 4 because all bosses used only smashes etc...
@@999karai I don't miss using coins to board boats though lol. But yeah, it is true that like. Man, Vindictus has gone a long way. It's just I wish they would had done so much of it sooner and then I might've never quit. Also I didn't mind season 2 design until they got rid of me jump. RIP jump, never forget.
I quit a few weeks ago with ~3500 hours. Played since launch pretty much but took a few long breaks. Even as an "intermediate" level player with LOS30 the game is just very discouraging. There are virtually no learning raids ever on NAW, only hw parties and busses. My 1540 alts became worthless with the gold nerfs so it's like the game punishes you for not keeping up with the latest content. Sure you can use an express to raise a char but that only helps 1 char every ~3 months. Ultimately why I quit is they can't do the obvious things to help bring in new players or reduce the hardcore gatekeeping aspects of the game after 2+ years. They could easily add all the LOS cards to merchants, but they won't because of monetization. They could make it so if you get jailed you can re-do the first gates for little-no rewards, but no we can't do that and we need 14 puzzle wipe mechs per raid because of bussing, which happens all the time anyway. The game has so many outdated RNG systems with no pity like tripods, quality, ability stones, or gem re-rolling that are just pepeW to interact with. They even showed quality pity at loa on and then didn't do it, which I think is indicative of SG's whole attitude: do bare minimum QOL changes to act like they care but not enough to reduce the pain points of the game unless you swipe or play it like a job. Sorry for "why i quit cringeposting", I do hope the game improves and don't want it to die but I slowly realized it's just too hardcore for me as a f2p naw pug andy.
I encourage people talking about it. This is more so what I mean about like actual feedback and talking about the problems. Talking about it like this is much more valuable than some guy responding to a twiter post about a new update just bitching about the game. I can only hope that people from AGS actually look through comment sections like these. But obviously the best place to really give feedback would be discord and the surveys. And the quality changes I think were reverted because the KR players didn't like it iirc but I could be wrong. But yeah like overall, I think this game declined for more casual play post Valtan and we started to get one guy kills raid situations. Valtan had an item or Sidereal answer to problems. Like Vykas g1 was a pug killer lol. But most of Vykas originally was. I think Clown went really well, even though it had wipe mechanics, since it was a 4 man people could coordinate and premade party for it more.
@@Jukwol From a programming perspective I get the quality thing, they reverted raising quality cap to 120 but also didn't add the pity because it's much easier and safer to just do nothing. My main got extremely lucky with a 100 quality weapon but SG not adding the pity just made me mad based on the principle of showing us a good change and then not doing it either out of laziness or greed. But yeah the main thing is the raids are just too hard imo and I wish they were more chill. Wow raids have mechs but sometimes you can finish with a few people alive and it's hype, there aren't a ton of wipe mechs at least from my experience in classic sod. I will try to leave some feedback on the discord.
@@hdmi1799 Yeah, I think this is just another situation of like. The uberwhales didn't like that change in KR and SG was just like "Yes King." The worst thing about wow raiding is the 10 minute walk back and the other 10 minutes for the afks to come back and then the final 10 minutes to rebuff.
It wasn't one of those "this isn't an airport" kind of posts: you gave your reasons and explained them without being overdramatic and attention-seeking. 👍
I have left the game as i said before close to the same as many others for the second job reason. I would like some big solution like if you dont like a raid like i could not pug echidna g1 was fine g2 worst experience of all lost ark pugged raids. I thought of something like a choice of giving up all gold for raids and for that you get 4x the life energy and regen rate +. Event islands would give you boss mats. So you had some choice. I am not a game dev so don't know how wrll that would work but would make the game better for me and i believe others to.
Doesn't matter to much about catching up just need more freedom in the game then just raid and dailys. I always think about jumping back on but the best way to describe it. I don't want to be a rat in a cage that gets offered a bigger cage every now and again that gets smaller over time again.
Yeah, I quit LoA after around 2.5k hours. Every once in a while I think maybe to install it... and then I remember - endless grind, absolute garbage PUG experience, gate 0 (lobby) hell.... nah I am good - tens of single player games to play in my TODO list and don't have to think if I will spend 5 min or 1h in a lobby just for chance to find a support, because group isn't over-juiced
Yeah, sups looking for the jacked parties. I think trying out solo raids is a good idea, its just that it doesn't go to the actual endgame so you'll always be behind.
As somebody that has about 3k hours in the game since launch, I feel like for the most part the game is puggable up to Thaemine G3. I have a full roster of 1600+ DPS characters (1636 main btw) and I still can't find a Thaemine G4 prog group. I don't want the game to die, but don't see things getting better from any of the planned changes.
I dont know if it’s because NAW is dead or something, but I just completely pugged my entire G4 prog and TFM clear in the past 2 weeks on NAE… surely there’s lobbies over there. Everyone over here is doing G4 cuz there’s nothing else to do rn
this game is a bait and switch, nothing chaned for the better. T4 seems like the same old exhausting grind. The bait is now solo mode and the switch comes with T4. Game was Peak at Valtan and downhill ever since
I think overall the game and changes with t4 are better. But I think the implementations of things are not well enough. Biggest example being that Ark Passive is a new separate system you have to slowly get into, instead of being a system the deletes and reduces our system bloat and just at a base is comparable to like a 5x3+1. Ultimately it just seems they're afraid of making major change or that they just don't think it's actually that bad.
Ill try to look into it and attempt to understand how to fix that lol. I'm a scrub when it comes to this stuff. But feedback sends me in the right direction.
They give you multiple stuff to waste time and recieve stuff there are not required , you can have 6+ chars but nobody force you to do them, you don't need to play all :D like onesly you can play 2 chars and have fun without any problem so stop complain having more stuff, just do what makes you happy. i play this game from 2 years and always i avoid stuf what i don't want like and i still apreciate this game
Just saying the 9000 hours point is a bit disingenuous. A lot of ppl just stay perma logged in even if they are not playing, so hard to judge hours played.
I personally think that is downplaying and justifying the habits this game design creates. I do the same by mentioning that hey, I played this game in my downtime on the WFH job so I let the game run and played during my downtime. But it doesn't change the fact that I made the choice to do that because to do the "fun" stuff later after work with the boys, I needed to get all my daily content done. I think people want to be hardcore in games, but they don't want to really identify as someone who no lifes a MMO. Just like people who swipe/RMT like to try to say they're F2P btw, just got lucky frfr. And while there are some people who actually do just AFK, like I see Honed in his spot in Avesta. The moment a Vtuber or Stoopzz starts a raid, he's likely to be in the applications frame 1. He might be playing the game all the time, but he's programmed to be conscious of it at all times if he has some availability from the looks of it. And this is not a jab against him or anything, just an observation. Edit: To clarify, I think you're not wrong for some people to say that. But I think that is the minority and LOA just attracts those who are willing to hardcore.
I was really hope ss3 they did hard reset like ss2. It was so successful that bring the game back from death. But turned out they didnt and give the game in awkward situation. The old tired to keep up, have to do so many daily/weekly/raid. The new cant enjoy the game coz gatekeep 😂
Yeah, without a hard reset its really hard to get new players into the game. MMO players just generally like to be more cutting edge and don't like to feel left behind, especially in a game where the lower level content is not populated enough for them to have a good experience more akin to like how content is when it launches.
The problem is: their systems are SO SHIT that their adjustments to make the systems better are so small that the systems STAY SHIT. A little bit less shit, but still shit.
ye but to be fair gachas have been doing this for years or even decade longer also u say lost ark is worse maple story begs to differ not only they made u pay alot more but the odds where litereal scam nexon got the corner stone on games like this or worse xD
i mean what are we talking about here man, this game is literally designed to play 6 characters - everything resolves about a roster of 6 and it will always be like that, that is also not an issue, its literally their conscious choice and should also be something youre aware of if you decide to play this game. if youre rocking one char in endgame lost ark you will not survive even with the most juiced events. if thats something you cannot come to terms with youre probably also still oblivious to the fact that this game is indeed a KR cashgrab MMO that entices spending money.. like you would voluntarily queue a game of league expecting to not run into an absolutely toxic manchild that is going to lose his shit the second a minor inconvenience occurs or like queueing a game of CSGO and expecting to not get screamed at by russians. Yall gotta be better at judging what you want from a game youre playing, cause changing the core fundamentals of a game is most likely not going to happen, so this game might just not be for you.
The problem really is that this kind of design doesn't end well for the West. Localization is beyond just language barriers. The game is dying in the West and t4 on it's own will not reignite a vast interest into the game. And even in Korea their original game design for Lost Ark was killing the game to the point the had to shut down or redesign the game, so they had to remake a lot about the game in Season 2. The game is also less popular in Korea these days, as it sinks down in the rankings in pc bangs. It's okay to say you enjoy the game as it is, and say that's how it's designed. But 80% of the design itself is stopping people from wanting to play the 20% of the game people enjoy. The proof is in the playercount. I know you're in my comments here and there, and I'm pretty sure I saw you the comment on the video from the patch today talking about big. I know you have good intentions for the game and genuinely want it to stay around. But I think saying it's fine and nothing is wrong with it does worse for the game in the long run and will lead a game to ruin quicker than constructive criticism. Absolutely everyone can improve with proper feedback, and this includes developers and publishers. And for that reason I talk about topics about that, not because I hate the game, but because I want Lost Ark to be enjoyable for more people.
@@Jukwol this game is and will always be a niche game, you cant just make a KR mmo into a western MMO, its inheritly different from the get go. Eastern MMOs catch you with FOMO and the feeling that you have to grind hard for your goals, western MMOs actually emphasize a lot more on the social aspect, guilds, pvp, these are core systems that simply are dead in Lost Ark, just an empty shell so they can say they added it to the game
@@Nonamed70 We had 1.3 million at one point because people actually were interested and had some fun with the game for awhile. At this time being after this big poggers patch everyone is glazing we're sitting at 1.6% of what we once were. It's a game the West wanted to enjoy but 98-99% couldn't. Granted no game retains their playerbase that well, you can expect to lose a lot over time, but Lost Ark has plummeted. AGS is trying to make Western specific changes because even they are recognizing the game is struggling in the West. End of day just saying well maybe the game isn't for you is just like saying maybe the game isn't for the West given our player retention and instead of making meaningful changes, just shut it down boys. I'll never be able to back this toxic positivity that the game is fine and attacking people for giving actual feedback about a game they actually enjoy(Don't get it twisted, I'm not accusing you of it, but there is a lot of it going around). At the end of the day, I think you're just happy to be playing the game for what it is, and that's good for you. The sad truth is that you're part of a very small minority. Ultimately I want a lot more people to feel the same way as you. And also WoW has lost most of its social points long ago after the implementation of dungeon/raid finder while also making most of the overworld extremely easy. It's pretty akin to wow that everyone else is just like a dynamic NPC in wow until you have to flame them for messing up. I don't see this as a viable excuse to make major parts of the game unenjoyable for your playerbase. incidentally, Force Gaming did a video about stuff like this just today. We really only have WoW, FF14, and Runescape for MMOs that don't get memed to death for being dead games. The real truth is that the entire MMO space is in a really rough place right now and it's really sad to see because I love MMOS. But yeah man, that's my perspective on this stuff. Games will only be mediocre if you accept mediocre.
Elixirs are still trash. You can get a 5/3 after 5-10 elixirs. The system is rigged so you land the last points on the node you dont need. Elixirs are not fixed😡
Smilegate has made hard mode is milking teritory. They perfectly fabricated progression. Everyone doesn't understand how much AGS has carried this game despite smilegate's toxic design.
Yeah, I'll never front line hard mode. It's too much commitment for me, but at this point it doesn't really bother me that I'm not day 1 hardmode. I'll get there eventually and I'm chilling. But I feel like the fabricated progression applies to most. And yeah, we have had a lot of good changes in the West. Events and such do help, but overall I don't think what we get matches up with how much time we lost, which results in a lot of people still feeling bad. But yeah, if we went straight 1:1 with KR but released faster, game would be gone. Wouldn't be able to find the body.
Yeah lol. They were full rested and I was like, wtf else do I do for the end. Ah screw it, Lopang baby. I can never have enough silver because I help a friend roll gems for cosmetics because I'm a broke boy.
the sentiment behind these posts always bugs me "get to enjoy the end game" is valtan vykas clown brel akkan voldis now trash content for new players just because it's no longer the new shiny for us old players?
My perspective of it is this. • While those are great content, they are not designed for our version of the game anymore. • The balance of the game is completely different, going into it on item level now compared to their launch is extremely different as characters themselves are considering stronger via balance patches. • Party finder for these content last I looked were not very lively. Most lobbies I see are like juiced card runs last I looked. • While Solo raids solves some of this, the difficulty of Solo raids is far below and will not provide the majority of people the same experience someone you or I had going through Valtan 2 years ago. • Most casual players will get a that more dull experience of solo raids instead of sitting in PF. Nor will they jump through the extra hoops most likely to go into a discord, try to set up or join a learning group etc. Ultimately, if this game could actually just get and maintain a steady stream of new players, a larger portion of this could be solved. While someone like Revyll did enjoy himself going through things. He does not represent most players going into the game, as he is someone the community had their eye on, interested to his Lost Ark journey due to streamers watching his videos and also people joining and helping him on his stream.
@@Jukwol Ok, Counter argument would a new player have a good time being dropped day one in thaemine? Also i don't see a solution outside of delete all old content and roll back players progress/reset so that everyone can start anew which considering this game was advertised as your progress matters would nuke the existing playerbase
gimme back 4500 for valtan clear (even bound) and ability to go in with fewer than 8 players and I'll be back to running it. they killed it coz you need gold to progress
@@MostWantedWannaBE Yeah, that's kind of a problem as well. That's part of the reason solo raids need to be all raids so players can learn on their own pace imo. This is also a symptom of not doing hard resets and requiring people to go through years of content. I think hard resets bring a lot to the game for new players and it brings in a reset for progression completely so the new and old can experience content and learn together. But when the core community has put in their life savings into the game, it's scary for developers so say "annnd it's gone."
I'm officially done with this game. I gave 5000hours and so many chances. The game *could be good* if they stopped intentionally nerfing the gameplay by terrible systems and choices. Time and time again this game proved that its specifically made to be as bad as possible, while being *just barely* good enough and addicting to keep you playing. The bad isn't the gameplay, the bad is the everything around the gameplay, you all know it. I hope the game dies and they have to redo everything to make the game actually respect your time, otherwise i don't even care anymore.
i just want to tell u they doesn't give a fck they want to milk players as soon as possible bc the game is going to die anyway and to confirm that they are focus on their new game LL i mean (Smile gate)
September 2023 : 50-55k ccu after merge and banwave September 2024 : 20-22k ccu after merge and banwave September 2025 : lets see how it will turn in the west this year Not to mention users are spread across 3 regions/AH … Overal a monthly-yearly declining trend, users got burn out and leave slowly but surely each month. Funny that roxx mentioned “saving lost ark in west” in her last video. Too late, too little, the stigma and public perception for this game is too deep. “A game made for degen weebs/lonely single mans” Fortunately PoE 2 is coming
The only plus of Roxx saying that is that they're publicly accepting that the game needs help. But yeah, we bot crazy. Also looking forward to my first POE experience and trying out POE2.
I think what should happen, from AGS as well as players:
1. slow down the pace for the West.
Yeah, having friends to play with really carry Lost Ark lol
Sound's great btw
Thanks amigo. It was a lot less work after getting it setup.
MAYBE if they give me the craziest event ever where you can push 6chars to 1620/ tier 4. Than mayybee i will come back :) maybe
I'm actually tinking around with wow atm too since I can't bring myself to care about LOA homework rn.
When u take a break in other games, u never lose as hard as in lost ark unfortunately...
stopped playing LA last year (on GS 1500, ~700ish hours played) for 2 reasons:
1. gatekeeping was just too hard
2. playing 3 chars became such a chore that game stopped being fun to play
looking at all the recent news game seems to be getting better, mb ill give it a second chance
Solo raids for all raids is a must. For the west this is a must.
So true, there would be so many new players coming to the game it's insane.
Even if only to avoid toxicity and gatekeeping.
For the East too, and another thing, they need to encourage new players to go to all solo raids at least 5 times. After the gold bound, I've seen a lot of new players going straight to group mode. For me, they should give a special reward on the first 5 reclears of each raid.
People don’t come to an MMO to play alone bro
Yeah, you're one of the few looking for a reason to come back. 16 man content I think is gonna be pretty rough in our region for pugging.
@@Jukwol Just like many things, the extremes are the issue.
Also thanks.
great vid, and yes it is really sad that AGS is going to let the game die by not localizing it properly
Surely they'll save the West like they said on their video.
@@Jukwol s u r e l y
If you can even find other newer players to play, as that wait time you mentioned is already going to filter a lot of players sadly.
I think if the progression and overall weekly chores were less, people would be more tolerable of wipes and resets in raiding.
no matter what they do, theyll never remove: alt system/braindead daily chores/ p2w / gatekeeping, so the game is uplayable for 95% of the people.
Yeah, removal will never happen because there is no content otherwise. But a reduction could go a long way.
The uberwhales didn't like that change in KR and SG was just like "Yes King."
The worst thing about wow raiding is the 10 minute walk back and the other 10 minutes for the afks to come back and then the final 10 minutes to rebuff.
Yeah, when they nerf things its usually by the time its much older content. Which doesn't help those in your position when you've already quit.
Do you spend a lot of time in PF as someone who pugs alot?
@@Jukwol not terribly long. The longest lobbies to fill are thaemine/echidna hm. NAW player.
I dont know if it’s because NAW is dead or something, but I just completely pugged my entire G4 prog and TFM clear in the past 2 weeks on NAE… surely there’s lobbies over there. Everyone over here is doing G4 cuz there’s nothing else to do rn
game must stay alive until monster hunter wilds releases…
Sadly I'm historically not a big Monster Hunter fan. The pace and speed of MH has never been my jam.
this game is a bait and switch, nothing chaned for the better.
Ultimately it just seems they're afraid of making major change or that they just don't think it's actually that bad.
a lil too much low end on the voice that creates like a low humming overtone as u talk. maybe a slight low cut around 1k hertz
Yeah, I'm taking a more casual approach moving forward. Like EOD game is BIS combat, classes and encounters, everything else is just a bit of CBT.
Band-aid for a bullet wound.
ye but to be fair gachas have been doing this for years or even decade longer also u say lost ark is worse maple story begs to differ not only they made u pay alot more but the odds where litereal scam nexon got the corner stone on games like this or worse xD
i mean what are we talking about here man, this game is literally designed to play 6 characters - everything resolves about a roster of 6 and it will always be like that, that is also not an issue, its literally their conscious choice and should also be something youre aware of if you decide to play this game. if youre rocking one char in endgame lost ark you will not survive even with the most juiced events. if thats something you cannot come to terms with youre probably also still oblivious to the fact that this game is indeed a KR cashgrab MMO that entices spending money.. like you would voluntarily queue a game of league expecting to not run into an absolutely toxic manchild that is going to lose his shit the second a minor inconvenience occurs or like queueing a game of CSGO and expecting to not get screamed at by russians.
358 million silver still doing lopang alts. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Yeah lol. They were full rested and I was like, wtf else do I do for the end. Ah screw it, Lopang baby.
I can never have enough silver because I help a friend roll gems for cosmetics because I'm a broke boy.
the sentiment behind these posts always bugs me
"get to enjoy the end game"
is valtan vykas clown brel akkan voldis now trash content for new players just because it's no longer the new shiny for us old players?
@@Jukwol Ok, Counter argument
would a new player have a good time being dropped day one in thaemine?
Also i don't see a solution outside of delete all old content and roll back players progress/reset so that everyone can start anew
which considering this game was advertised as your progress matters would nuke the existing playerbase
gimme back 4500 for valtan clear (even bound) and ability to go in with fewer than 8 players and I'll be back to running it. they killed it coz you need gold to progress
@@gentlycz blame the chinese farmers for that one
2XKO full release waiting room amigo.
i just want to tell u they doesn't give a fck they want to milk players as soon as possible bc the game is going to die anyway and to confirm that they are focus on their new game LL i mean (Smile gate)
At this point idk what even happened to mobile om
September 2023 : 50-55k ccu after merge and banwave
September 2024 : 20-22k ccu after merge and banwave
September 2025 : lets see how it will turn in the west this year
Not to mention users are spread across 3 regions/AH …
Overal a monthly-yearly declining trend, users got burn out and leave slowly but surely each month.
Funny that roxx mentioned “saving lost ark in west” in her last video.
Too late, too little, the stigma and public perception for this game is too deep. “A game made for degen weebs/lonely single mans”
Fortunately PoE 2 is coming
The only plus of Roxx saying that is that they're publicly accepting that the game needs help. But yeah, we bot crazy. Also looking forward to my first POE experience and trying out POE2.
