    2 hours is a GREAT amount of time devote to language if possible! More isn’t necessary for most people if you’re consistent, too much in a day can be really mentally exhausting. I study 2 hours a day as a standard, 40 minutes at LEAST, and 2 hours and 20 minutes at MOST.

      wow, I I admire you so much that you can continuously study for that substantial amount of time every day! I agree, I'm glad I settled on 2 hours, it would have killed my brain if I did more than that😅

      I even study just one hour a day every other day and I am still making progress. Consistency is the key.

    I've been studying Spanish for a year. I started with Pimsleur, which gave me a super quick 'start-dash'. But when the 150 lessons of Pimsleur ended, I couldn't keep up myself to study EVERYDAY, even for 30 mins. I take 3 online lessons per week now, and tareas are killing me. In this July I will take DELE B1. You inspired me A LOT! I will definitely try this 1 week challenge. Also, Assimil looked really good, so I might take them into my journey. Thank you so much for sharing your energy!!

    I'm proud of you for sticking to your plan/goal! It's hilarious that your first impulse was to make it 4 hours a day hahahaha.
    It's nice that the anxiety clip was included because that's honestly so relatable (although for me that's uni work, and spanish is what I do to procrastinate). It really is motivating seeing people share the same struggle.
    Also I'm doing LT too! About halfway through it now, I'm really loving the format/method, because I'm learning a lot of basic grammar and I'm kind of just scared of doing that from a textbook.

      If you prefer to sit on the couch and watch more UA-cam, then watch youTube in your target language. I have exams coming up on the 7th of September and I failed it once already. I don't feel like studying it. I just wanna sit on the couch and watch tv. So you know what I did, I shared my computer screen to the tv and watched the lectures my teacher gave. It really doesn't feel like studying, but I am learning stuff.

    Particularly these 2 albums: El que busca encuentra (2001) &
    Lo que Andábamos Buscando (2002), when Reyli Barba was the band's vocalist. Keep up the studying Emi!📚🎧

    I enjoy your videos. Btw, it is NOT "loser status" in America to live at home with your parents after 18. How many 18-year-olds do you know who can actually afford to fend for themselves by the age of 18? Things are way too expensive. At least it is in NYC. So, you say that you live in Japan. How did you get your American pronunciation of English?

    • @emigrace
      @emigrace  3 роки тому +1

      Hahaha, def shouldn’t have generalized… my impression of the States was that you leave for college and you live on your own after you graduate😅
      My mom’s American so I grew up speaking English at home!:)

    Three iTalki lessons in one week??? Is that a typical amount for you? I've been averaging one per week, but am considering trying more. I'm sure it would help me to improve my speaking, but I don't want to drain my "iTalki Lesson Budget" too quickly! 😂

    • @emigrace
      @emigrace  3 роки тому +1

      Hahaha nooooo I usually average once a week! (btw same, for budget reasons hahaha)
      Lately I’ve been doing a language exchange with a super nice Colombian guy on italki every week, which is helping a lot with my budget!😂

    • @boxingcompass

      @@emigrace Ah, ok! A language exchange is a great idea. I have a few Spanish speakers that I text with regularly, but haven't managed to get a consistent face-to-face speaking exchange going yet. I should make more of an effort to do that... my budget will thank me!
