Again, I feel like someone finally understands me. Every youtuber always goes "consistency is important", but no one ever talks about how hard it is to actually get up, sit at your table and start learning. And yes, I am serious about learning Spanish and Korean, yes I have goals, yes I know that if I start now, then I will be proud of myself I'm the future. Yet still, I often just can't get myself to start. So thank you for this video. I really appreciate you and your videos, more than you will ever know
I would love a video with the resources you use! That could be super interesting! I really enjoyed this video, very good tips indeed (even the controversial one! Lol).
I love what you said about finiding shows you find interesting. I am a beginner so if a show is really good I'll watch it with subtitles first then rewatch it without the subtitles or sometimes vice vera!
2:50 i can totally feel you😂😂. Like when i started learning English languages and now spanish both time i tried learning through the dedicated teaching channels but it somewhat felt off and i kept zoning out because the fact that it made me too mucb realise that i am in the study zone and i gotta be serious whereas now that I've turned to series and random youtube channel related to the language is more fun and easier to catch the language
As a native spanish speaker i can say that You're very good, spanish It's a hard language because it have so many little things to learn but the fact that you learn everything you know by yourself inspires me a lot Because i'm... well, like you, literally, procrastintor af lol. Im a new fan
This is such an excellent video! I'm currently learning chinese and can definitely attest that so much of my learning has happened because I've been in social situations where I've had no option but to learn something. Keep up the great content!
I’m currently battling the forever ebb and flow of feeling inspired and taking on the world in Spanish and then just losing all motivation to do anything lol feelsbad So thank you for this video! It’s appreciated ❣️
I am JUST starting my Spanish journey (while still studying French 😅) and I’m so glad I found your channel and subscribed! Thanks for keeping it real. I really related to your learning style and the key points you mentioned in your video. These are great reminders to keep us language learners to just… keep going bit by bit!!! 💙
The thing about procrastination is, it's predictable. We always know what's gonna happen next and we know what the results will be and we also know that the results would turn out much better if we eliminate distractions and prepare way ahead of time so that while everybody else is panicking as the due date creeps up on them, you'll be part of the 1% of people binge watching your favourite TV show stress free but we all know that out of the 100s of excuses we have, the only one that's valid (barely) is "Self-discipline is really hard."
6months in and im doing ok with learning Spanish because growing up i never learn and im trying to focus on the Puerto Rican dialect because im PR so its a little different but I’ll hopefully get there btw im teaching myself as well!!
Well, I'm still watching the video but I've already liked your vibe, I really like how you can speak and smile at the same time lol, and also your video's quality and organization are very agreeable. Good job my friend! :D
Good video for people who want to study español by oneself. Informations that you told are so concise and helpful. Espero que llegues a tu meta pronto. Animo y gracias por tus buenos videos👍👍👍
3:10 ...Unless you make sure that the entire video is in your target language. you're just starting out, you can't jump onto tv series right away. (don't worry, unless it's Chinese or Korean, it won't take very long.) I learned Italian literally this way for 4 months (more than enough since it's in the same language family as mine) and now I can understand everything, at about a C1 level (and once you can understand perfectly, you're done, you can speak at any time). ...and I'm doing the exact same prossess with Spanish and Mandarin Chinese: no Textbooks, no Flashcards, no revews, and thus, no procrastination and no risk of burnout since i'm not using any of the methods (efficient) whitch use to be the cause of those fellings. ...Learning a language is difficult, but it doesn't have to be painful.
Id like to learn Spanish, first because it's everywhere, especially in the south USA. But also because I was raised in New Mexico, but no one offered spanish classes to me when I was a kid, and I felt cheated.
without Duolingo i wouldn't be able to learn French. With Duolingo, I don't need to motivate me, force me or put my motivation inside. this application gives me motivation. For all other learning methods I needed to force me.
Great video!! I really appreciate it I currently just started learning Spanish I definitely am going to put more content on UA-cam about my Spanish Journey and I have you to thank for that!!
Me encanta la forma tan realista en la que platicas este tema 🌌 Procrastinacion 🌌 Thank you for those tips! I think make a youtube channel is the best and I really want to make one, thank you again!❤
If you can learn Japanese you can learn pretty much any language lol, I am not only lazy but I am also academically challenged and of course I picked Japanese one of the hardest languages to learn and no support or someone to help me, it's all self-study.

Heeellooo! I'm improving my english watching you... Hi from Brazil!
Good question! Actually this guy just messaged me through italki asking if I wanted to do a language exchange. He later told me that he found me through a comment feedback I had made to a Spanish teacher(in English), so he knew I was an English native and was studying Spanish. He was saying that italki’s good because all the people on the platform are serious about learning a language, unlike other language exchange platforms where there’s a good portion of people who don’t really care about the language part. Wow I wrote a whole essay but I hope this helps!:)
How would you recommend a beginner learner to find an exchange person to talk to? A person not interested in a dating situation but to learn. I speak English and interested in speaking with a native Spanish speaker who may want to practice English.
oof, tbh the only reason why my pronunciation is descent is because the pronunciation of Japanese is really similar to Spanish😅😅 but I know that a channel called Bilingüe Vlogs has a bunch of videos on pronunciation, you should check him out!:)
Hello. It's a very good video.I would definitely say American if I didn't know you weren't born in Japan. How did you learn to speak English so fluently and clearly? What is the secret of this business?I am also working on improving my English. Thanks for the advice.
I have to disagree with you about Duolingo it is IMO one of the best ways to learn Spanish (of course you have to mix it with some other methods) For me Duolingo + language transfer + italki are the best Duolingo makes sure that you study everyday (without it I think I wouldn’t study every day!) LT is the best for grammar Italki for speaking skills And duo for vocb and (everything basically)
It depends on your level, but I really like the intermediate short stories by Olly Richards!:) For a textbook, I use Assimil and that's also European Spanish:)

I love watching Quackitys Spanish streams, he hasn’t done many, but when he does it’s like hanging out with one of my primos when I was a kid lol
I would love a video with the resources you use! That could be super interesting! I really enjoyed this video, very good tips indeed (even the controversial one! Lol).
