    Hey guys its been a minute since I uploaded an ecodiesel video. What can I say the trucks been good! I did have a CEL related to the oil temperature sensor for about 6 months so I finally got around to changing it.
    Stay tuned for my 6 (or 7 lol depending when I start it) 250,000KM review of the ecodiesel. The Good the Bad and the Ugly. Ill be breaking down the most common issues with the little diesel and what I like and dislike about the truck.

    Great video, helped a lot. Thank you. However, I found that going through the wheel well was considerably easier. I also found the Torque Specs. 20Nm, 177In Lbs or 14.75 Ft Lbs

    Hey ,great video helps me a lot my oil temperature drops down on 50 C and it stays there ,than goes all over up and down so for sure is the oil sensor ..
    I wanted to ask you about the obd reader that you are using, I read some reviews on Amazon and some were that they are getting codes on the dash ones they plug the obd,,did you experience any of that ,I need to buy one as well to clear my check engine light .
    And also wasvyour oil pressure reading acting funny when you lost lost the oil temperature sensor .
    Thanks I appreciate.

      my ODB reader works great. Just used it the other day to clear a CO2 error that pops up from time to time
      not sure about the oil pressure...looks ok now.

    Nice job. I'm chasing an issue where my DPF soot loading % goes up, then down and up and down while going on and off the pedal (hard acceleration). Not behaving right. Forums haven't helped much and the dealer thinks I'm crazy. I'm suspicious it is my EGT sensors but can't figure out why it could cause that. No codes ... yet.

    • @GilbertGardens
      @GilbertGardens  4 роки тому

      how are you finding the DPF soot level ? is this aftermarket or on the truck ? didnt realize that you could see that information. My emissions are sitting in my basement so I cant be much help brother.... tune out? lol

      @phprofYT 4 роки тому

      @@GilbertGardens I use a OBD2 Bluetooth port reader and Torque Pro with custom PIDs. I'm suspecting a bad EGT sensor at this point. Some day hope to get GDE tune.

    Hi Gilbert, we are looking into a Ram 1500 Ecodiesel (Gen 2-2015) and we are wondering how has the truck treated you? We are also from Ontario and are looking to purchase a used Ram1500 Ecodiesel (low Km's ~100K for a 5 yr old truck) We are coming from a Lincoln SUV with many woes and trips to the dealership with many issues under warranty. We are currently looking for a nice family (daily vehicle) that is safe rugged and can occasionally tow a car to the race track (Toronto Motorsports Park - Cayuga, ON) its about ~200KM round trip. Otherwise it's a basically family hauler and grocery getter during the week. Thanks Gilbert!

    • @GilbertGardens
      @GilbertGardens  3 роки тому

      These trucks last longer when they do long hauls. You will want to delete the emissions and install a catch can to increase the engine life span. I'm posting a video this week about a couple of issues with the truck. I'm also working on a 7 year 250,000 km review of the truck. Overall I would recommend it but you should remove the EGR and install a catch can.

    • @GilbertGardens
      @GilbertGardens  2 роки тому

      Code P0118 is the result of the ECT sensor indicating a high voltage input from the coolant temperature circuit --- worth a shot
