Whatsup brotha got a quick one for you. My electronic throttle body position light went off which then threw a check engine light code with it. As I lost power I noticed the oil temp needle would rise when I stepped on the gas pedal and then go back to center as I let off. I’m going to replace the pedal with the sensor to fix it but do you have any idea on what I should do to fix the oil temp sensor needle issue????

Great video, thanks a lot man! Going to entertain myself during Thanksgiving break. There are a few extra steps that are not required for this type of job but overall it gives full details about the scope of work. Pity I just changed oil 2 months ago, I guess at least I am going to need to refill a liter or two. Anyway, not too bad, all dealers I spoke with were going to charge me $800+ for this work.

Strange. I’m also a JL, LU 51. also have a 2022 Cummins but mines a 3500, you called that thing a split bolt. We just call that a Kearney 😂 Lineman terminology is funny, changes everywhere. Here a split bolt is at the top of the pole between the ridge pin bolts to help the pole from splitting out when a tree falls on it. Also, the orange jumpsuit was dead giveaway (besides the logo I just seen) that you were Canadian. I’ve worked with some of yall in Detroit before.

i closed the EGR on my old Maxima. Then i read about it and there is a whole laundry list of reasons for having that, including long term durability of the engine. It sounds counter intuitive, but injecting half burned hot air in the engine actually decreases the maximum burning temps inside the engine, which is particularly important in towing. Today I think the intake buildup is the smaller devil and if everything else is good in the engine it is not that big a deal to remove and clean the intake. I have a 2022 Ecodiesel with 17 000 miles and plan on chaning the oil on 3 000 miles and drive it stock as long as it can. No tunes no nothing on this one.

Gapless piston rings... If you're not going to do a delete the gapless rings will drastically reduce oil contamination plus a provent BUT!!!! Before you plumb from that provent back into the intake, buy a small transmission cooler stick it up front and pipe it through there making sure to run the pipe in a way so the oil will have to run up hill and install a T with a ball valve. The provent DOES NOT FILTER ALL THE OIL VAPOR!!! It really does like 50% you can get the rest of it out by condensing it through a small radiator. I do this with my 2018 GMC Terrain with a 1.6 diesel and I'm telling you when I change my oil it is no longer diesel snot black! It just looks like slightly burnt oil more like in a gasoline engine when you go like 10k without changing your oil. Next mod I'm working on a EGR filter since I cannot delete mine.

If you want to do this, the easiest way possible, Get an easy valve off of Amazon and attach a clear tube to it.. Run the oil right into an old DEF jug. Not one drop on the ground. then you take the jug to recycle.. Wrap a gallon baggie around the filter after you crack it loose. All the oil goes in the baggie, And you are off and running. 20 min tops...

I must be one of the luckier Ram owners out there because I have a 2015 eco diesel with 174,650 miles (281,070 km) and my truck is still running fine. No modifications to the original engine configuration except to delete failed EGR & DPI (after ~150,000 miles or 241,000 km) but is otherwise original. I am still seeing very minimal oil usage, have excellent compression and fuel economy. I have been adhering to the factory recommendation of 10,000 mile (16,100 km) oil changes with filter and Shell Rotella T-6 full synthetic 5w-40. Nothing else, except a cam shaft sensor failure at ~148,000 miles that was covered by Ram thru a recall of some sort. I pull a 5000 lb travel trailer with this truck ~3500 miles (5600 km) each year, give or take. 19-21 mpg pulling trailer; 38-40 mpg otherwise. That's ~8.5 km/l (if I did my math right) pulling trailer, 16.5 km/l otherwise. This has been a very good truck for a lot of years so far. I've read about changing oil & filter every 3,000-5,000 miles but I stuck with Ram's recommendation and have a strong engine after nearly 10 years of operation, averaging 15,000 miles per year. This engine is better than a lot of people have been claiming. IMO, it was the add-on EGR & DPI required by EPA that harmed this engine. I live in a Northern state.

Great video!! Very helpful because just got a 2021 Denali 3.0 and it's close to needed the fuel filter replaced. The dealer told me to do it every two oil changes but it's already going for it's third oil change and the percentage is barely going to hit 40 percent but the truck is rarely ever driven. Mainly for long travel because of the mpg I get but thank you once again. It looks easy and simple and will be doing this myself.

My brackets were also cracked and broken. I removed them both completely and welded with a reinforcing gusset. I replaced all parts and put on a new drive belt. The belt continued to pop off occasionally much to my frustration. Off with the wheels again everything looked fine and fantastic. I then discovered very randomly, two of the plastic fins on the fan above the hydrostatic unit just below the pulley had been slightly bent upwards and were touching the belt as the fan rotated. I simply clipped the ends off the two offending fins and that seems to have solved the problem. I suspect the fins might have been damaged when the bracket broke and the hydrostatic unit misaligned

A couple of thoughts here. I think the reason you had a good amount drain out at the beginning was because the transmission pan rail wasn’t level. For these trucks it’s the pan rail that needs to be level, not the vehicle. If the back was jacked up enough to achieve level, perhaps nothing comes out when you initially pull the fill plug at the beginning. Another thing that looked different to me is that the procedure im aware of calls for the fluid temp to be below the 30 C mark just to make sure there is enough time to finish the procedure before it gets to the top spec (122 F. I forget what the C is). After you first fill until it seeps out of the fill plug, you should then start the vehicle and then immediately put more fluid in it until it seeps out again. It looks like you skipped this step and went right to running through the gears. I would not do that quite yet. First do your second fill up (while it’s running) and then after it seeps out, plug it again and then do the procedure where you run it through the gears. And it also calls for (in addition to the Drive / Neutral / Reverse for 5 or 10 seconds each), you should also take your foot off the brake and allow the vehicle to reach second gear for 5 seconds and then apply the brake and rev up the engine until it reaches 2,000 RPM for five seconds. I didn’t see you do these steps. Then after doing this process, then go down and do a final check at the fill plug - as long as you aren’t over the 122 degrees F - and see if any comes out. If nothing comes out, add some and if too much is in there , let it drain out until you achieve your slow dribble. Plug it and done. Bingo.
