If you've made it this far in the description, remember to be safe when creature adventuring! Most wild animals can cause injury if harassed, and I do not recommend attempting to capture any creatures without purpose and practice. The reason that I interact with wildlife is to produce these educational videos, and I have years of zoology experience under my belt. Also, I always ask permission from a land owner before exploring on their property, and you should do the same.
Keep adventuring everywhere, and keep your adventures safe at all times!

my corn snake is 5 feet long and is 3 years old and is still growing
Wow!
That is enormous for one so young. How often do you feed her ?
Mine is 4 1/2 feet long and is 6 years old
Sometimes that happens when over feeding. It cuts their lifespan significantly though 😢
I've always loved corn snakes, they just have such a beautiful color palette. I'm amazed at just how docile she was for being wild, and she's huge.
Honestly, I always did want one as a pet, though I do still prefer my far more affectionate dogs and cats haha
Yeah they are so gorgeous. This was such an amazing animal to work with!
We love watching your videos in our homeschool!
That's amazing, glad to hear you're enjoying my content!
What a beautiful corn snake, that colour and size wow!
Yeah it was stunning!
Amazing Ben!!
Great one Ben. It was a treat just to see that corn snake.
Thanks, it was a stunner!
That corn snake is unbelievable. Thank you for sharing
It was amazing, thank you for watching!
Awesome as usual !
Well done mr Z
Thank you!
Awesome video. Racers are always fun to see and I don't know how you catch them before they are gone. Amazing.
Thanks, Robert! They are sooo fast
IDk how this channel doesn't have 1M subs
Haha thanks man, but at the end of the day if the content reaches just a few people and helps promote conservation it's worth it.
Ben, my man, you are amazing! Love these videos. Stay safe out there!
Thank you so much, will do!
Hey Ben 👋. Nice catch ❤. I wish more people were like you and would help the snake 🐍 across the road. I was on my walk last week and so where someone ran over a Rat Snake. 😢 . Keep up the good work Keep the videos coming my friend 👍✌️
Thanks Walter! Also oh nooo that's so sad
Always enjoy your content and your respect for wildlife. Thanks so much! Have a great one Ben! 👍👍👌🐍

@@TheWildReportOfficial cannot imagine!
Awesome video! 💯
Thank you!
So much Steve Irwin energy. Im so glad I stumbled across your channel and subscribed.
Haha thanks so much Alex, that's a high compliment!
heyy sharkbait! its me chloe from the trip. i was a sea turtle with a camouflage jacket.
Hi Chloe, welcome to the channel!
remember we came and saw you for our field trip to Tybee back in January its was fun and will always remember it
Great video, and know that there's a few of us who rescue snakes and turtles off the roads. You're not alone! 🐍
Thanks Joy. always glad to be in the company of other reptile lovers!
Ya I prevented my mom from accidentally running over a racer snake in the Everglades. Gives me faith in humanity when I see and hear of other people who also rescue reptiles and amphibians and don’t deliberately kill them (unless they’re invasive in the region.)
Lovely corn snake. I was excited to see this. ❤🐍
Awesome video!
Thank you!
nice finds
Thanks, Owen!
Another superb video and what a special corn snake! Also, props for the excellent b-roll footage
Thanks so much!
Great job with finding a wild corn that large! Good video 👍 subbed!
Thanks, appreciate the sub!
That Corn snake is huge! Just bought an adult from Underground Reptiles today and it came in great condition. He is super friendly. I'm assuming he's been somewhat handled all ready. I'm giving him a lot of space though so he can get comfortable with his new space.
Love the vids man. I recognized some landmarks in your previous vids as a fellow state man🐺 and am excited to look!
Hi Ben it’s me Ben from camp
Hello, idk if you remember but it's me Sebastian from when CS came to the 4H center in March
Yeah I remember you, welcome to the channel Sebastian!
Silas loved watching this with me! Great content.
Amazing, glad you enjoyed!
That corn snake was a beast
Yeah I've never seen one like it!
Love to see you finding stuff in my neck of the woods. I live in the middle of nowhere coastal georgia, and it is certainly one of the best places to go herping
Haha coastal herping is just special
That corn snake is beautiful. By the way if anyone has advice for someone interested in this I’d appreciate the advice. I love animals, especially reptiles and insects, but I’ve never done field work before other than beekeeping and I really don’t care to make mistakes that could put me or the wildlife in harm. Thanks again for the video
A great place to start learning about herpetology is to check out your state herp website! Most states have a reptile/amphibian conservation group which provides online resources.
Thank you. I want to do this but I want to learn about it first
all i find here in sc/nc border are corns and this is certainly the largest ive seen
It was a beast!
PRETTY COOL 😎 BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 GOD BE / BLESS YOU ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES 🙏 THANK YOU 🙏 😊
Thank you David!
Do you have a video on how to identify poisonous snakes?
Your videos are great
Yes, it's called the Six Venomous Snakes of NC!
Great video, and beautiful corn! I’ve been trying to do some herping myself, but I’m not really sure exactly where to search. I recently moved down to costal Georgia from NY. Where did you film this video? I ask because it looks very similar to some of the places I’ve tried herping around here.
Thanks Anthony! I can't publicly disclose the location for reptile protection purposes, but any freshwater systems near the coast will produce at least some herps!
@@TheWildReportOfficial sounds good, thanks!
Beautiful corn snake.
It sure is!
How many times have you been bitten by a snake?
Probably don’t really keep count anymore but if ya had to guess a number to put to it…?
Just curious.
Is it something you just get used to? You don’t even flinch; like you’re pretty much expecting it.
Do they not really hurt? More of a surprise shock thing than they are painful.
Hmm yeah probably hundreds. It's not too painful, basically like getting poked by thorns.
wait I thought the belly scales were what made them call it a corn, because is looks like wild corn
Does it hurt to get bit by a racer (or garter)? Could you compare it to a particular bug bite, or sting? I'd like to get more comfortable handling garters here in Vermont, but struggle with nerves, and have never done more than pick them up at the tail (which is maybe uncomfortable for them?). Thanks for your great content. Just found your channel last night, and can't stop watching.
It doesn't feel great but isn't the end of the world. It's effectively the same as getting poked by a briar bush. Garters have mild venom so if they chew on you for long enough you'll probably get itchy. Glad you're enjoying my videos!
@@TheWildReportOfficial Thanks, Ben! That is comforting to know. I really appreciate the info! I'm very pleased to report that I properly handled my first snake (Garter) today, and it was awesome! A gorgeous VT garter with lots of blue speckling. After a couple initial unsuccessful nips, it was so chill and easy to be with. Do they ever get aggressive again after they've already hilled out with you holding them for a minute or two? Or is it mostly in the beginning when they might nip? Your videos really helped me get over the hump and gain confidence about picking them up. Hell, I'm even looking forward to getting bit at this point! Loved your new video in Japan. I saw that first 4 stripe rat snake keep nipping at you- would it ever go after your hand that you're holding it in? Or is it typically your free hand, or face? Thanks so much and I look forward to more from Japan.
Hey Ben this is Dimitri from the field trip remember I told I you a had a UA-cam channel and I would give you a shoutout if you don’t that’s ok but what’s up man
hey Ben, did you see my latest catch? That baby racer nailed ne like a dozen times, before I could even start filming him.
Dang I didn't see that yet!
That Corn could have been someones pet. Its bodyweight relative to time of year is a telltale sign. Hopefully he does alright
That's true, I didn't think about that possibility. It seemed pretty healthy!
@TheWildReportOfficial it did! That's why it makes me believe he was maybe a pet. Fed well and looked good even for the early spring where snakes are usually thinner and not as perfect as her
Do racers all have white bottom jaws?
Yellowbelly slider, that sounds like a good name for a bar drink.
Yes, at least the Southern racers do!
Snakes are so pretty. Infuriating that people will deliberately hit and kill them with their cars. I remember in the Everglades we were driving to a hiking trail and the drive was long cus it was muddy and rocky. My mom noticed a hawk carrying a rat snake that was fighting for dear life. Later I saw a racer in the middle of the road and yelled at my mom to stop the car. I hopped out to see where it was but it panicked and slithered away. The snake was fine.
Hey Ben do you want to play with the baby racer I caught? I named him JAWS for a reason!
Haha racers are always pretty feisty
Definitely, spring when you're coming across all those critters. That corn?!?! Ridiculous looking! Part 2 better have an E. King or I'm unsubbing. 😉
Nooo guess I gotta go acquire a getula now
