I know nothing about snakes and just stumbled across this video. However, I think it's hilarious how the first Mud Snake has these bright dangerous looking "stay away from me I'm venomous" colors....aaaand it's harmless!
I love how you guys put them back where you found them instead of just letting them go in random areas, where they’d be confused. I love this aspect about you guys’ hobby. You genuinely care for the snakes. ❤️ 🐍
Right? We have tons of snakes here in Montenegro, whipsnakes,adders,grasssnakes...And as soon as you even close the distance on the snake it starts hissing and biting.
I love how you all enjoy the snake day! Especially at 13:45. It's obvious that the guy enjoys it. I am super afraid of snakes and just the thought of seeing one in person makes me wanna scream and cry
Wow, lots of snakes.. in all my years of herping (roughly 53 so far) I have never seen a green snake, rough or smooth on a flip. They’ve always been in a tree, bush or just out in the grass. What a great day you had! 👍🏼
Seeing you find all these snakes makes me wonder what I’ve stepped over/on and walked by in the woods when I was younger. Keep up the awesome videos 👍✌️
I’m 60. Love me a lunchable. My cardiologist, neurologist, epidemiologist. Endocrinologist, urologist, gastroenterologist, (these are the people you meet when you get old) all tell me lunchables are bad for me, but I tell em all to pound sand.
These videos really help me with my snake phobia. Naming them and identifying if their harmless or not in the video makes me feel more comfortable. Thanks fellas!
I like that you are content to simply look at the venomous snakes without feeling like you have to pick them up and piss them off. They’re pretty chill when respecting their boundaries. It seems curious to me that there is such an abundance of tin sheets all over the ground.
@@catbirdherping9857 There snake traps, im from lousisana and we generally use metal sheets or large wooden planks to see if any snakes will come, and yes we do take most of the sheets from hurricane debris
Fab StillSmokin my friend says it’s because they spray so insecticide in Tennessee and the green snakes eat insects and that’s why there aren’t as many!
Fab StillSmokin bro idk about Boston but in Tennessee we have so many bugs and farmers spray their crops with insect killers and which kills the insects and decreases the population on green snakes. No he’s not 8 years old smart ass!
This is herping paradise! The biggest day for me was in California, when I caught nine snakes in one day. There were two boards in Monterey under which my brother and I found three gopher snakes and four ringneck snakes, and also a skink. Then later in the day under another board in Carmel I found two garter snakes, or it might have been one garter snake each under two separate boards. That was 1983, so my memory of the day isn't perfect. But there were times when I could go into the woods every day for weeks without finding a snake. In California it seems like late April, through May, and June were always the best time of year to find snakes. Finding areas with good ground cover is sometimes tough. Boards are the best, as they are easy to flip and put back, and snakes love to hide under them. A board on the edge of a clearing or a field, right next to the tree line or some tall grass or vegetation is usually the best spot. I kind of wish people wouldn't litter, except for wooden boards! Please leave lots of wooden boards all over. Thank you.
Not just the sandals but lifting the tin by hand knowing there are copper heads, cotton mouths, and rattle snakes in the area. Asking for a trip to the hospital.
A little tip when hunting these snakes: When lifting up debris and trash, act quickly and silently or else the snakes hide under leaves or move somewhere else. Trust me, it helps.
this is great, you got a perfect example of what we Louisiana folks call a canebrake, for some reason some of our timber rattlers dont have an orange dorsal line, i have only seen this in LA
