Hi Richard, your channel is going to become huge soon if you keep up this kind of content! You've found a great mixture of education and entertainment.
Just had around 10hours after the PPL skill test and this video really gives me a brief look on how a zone transit to be done in a easy and professional way.
Thanks for this I’m a Southampton lad who is living in Leicester now but Lee on Solent brings back happy memories of my younger years going to the air shows and the hovercrafts which used to enter the Solent on the left hand side.
Hi Richard, I just discovered your channel today and I’ve been blitzing all your videos. This one is special for me as you passed over Ascot (where I used to live near the racecourse) and then Fareham ( where I moved to after Ascot). I used to drive to Lee and sit and watch the aircraft doing circuits. I even inquired about taking flying lessons at the school there but I moved yet again to Scotland. A brilliant channel and love your videos ( you make it look SO easy). Keep up the good work.
Fantastic and well put together. Showing everything your doing and doing it so clear. So fascinating to watch makes feeling like playing a simulator better doing a check list like you are professionally
Another fantastic video Richard. Since Jaunty17 stopped, I've been looking for another quality DA42 channel, and you're it. Please keep it up. What would be nice is reading out the power and speed settings once you're on the approach :-) Oh and thanks for waiting to film the Spitfire take-off at the end!
Thank you so much! Yeah I watched most of Jaunty's videos, shame he stopped! I will take that into account, I'm working on camera angles so hopefully you'll be able to see it soon! Can't miss an opportunity to film a Spitfire! 😁
Hi Richard, really enjoying your videos. Your DA42 looks amazing. My office is 1nm from the threshold of EGTB RWY24 almost directly on the centreline so I guess I'll be seeing you on final whilst I'm gazing out of the window at the GA traffic rather than doing what I should be!
This is so cool that you can just jump in your plane a pop down to Southampton (in 30 mins!). Could you chuck a couple of suitcases in the back and head down to the Costa Del Sol with the Mrs if you wanted too?
Hi Richard, love your videos, I was a private pilot on helicopters for 10 years, Jet Ranger and Hughes 500. Can you do a video on an pre-flight and engine start up please. All the best mate..
Hey Paul! I've got some time in the JetRanger, but never flown a Hughes 500! Always been on my bucket list! I will look at doing that! I best get in the books first to make sure my facts are correct 😁
Great footage Richard, I used to be baed out of Wycombe which was a great airfield. really liking the editing too, look forward to future posts. Quick non related flying question.. Where did you get your jumper from haha?
Thanks Nathan! 😁 Visibility is great, seating position is good and there are no obstructions on the canopy! The iPad mount only restricts the view of the engine so you don't really lose anything there either!
Hi Richard, love your videos, especially this one as it's my local airport. Do you ever take people up with you? I'd love to join you on one of your future flights if you are ever in the EGHF area.
Thanks Stuart! Like many other UK pilots, I love going to Lee! Lots going on there. I do sometimes but my work schedule is a bit erratic so I can never really guarantee anything! I'll let you know if I am next heading to Lee empty! 😁👍
Yes they would approve it! You are normally kept below 1200ft, so in a SEP just keep an eye out for safe landing areas near a few of the congested patches! 😁👍
The Diamond Aircraft Industries design team are to be congratulated on the DA42 and the newer DA62 variant - light twin aircraft have come a long way since the Piper PA 23 of which we had a history with 30 years ago www.lebas.com
Yes, it is a GoPro Max (360 camera). I use Final Cut Pro to edit, takes a little time to get used to but you can get some really great camera angles from it!

Thanks! Great to hear you are enjoying it! 😄
Agree. Good channel. Let’s keep GA in the UK alive!
Nothing can beat that sound of rolls royce merlin engine at the end of this video - marvellous😃
Pretty special when your there! It was a busy aircraft doing pleasure flights 😁
Just had around 10hours after the PPL skill test and this video really gives me a brief look on how a zone transit to be done in a easy and professional way.
Glad it came in handy! Safe flying and maybe hear you on the radio at some point!
Thanks for this I’m a Southampton lad who is living in Leicester now but Lee on Solent brings back happy memories of my younger years going to the air shows and the hovercrafts which used to enter the Solent on the left hand side.
It’s still a great airfield to fly into! They have changed hover crafts to big helicopters now!
Beautiful close with the Spitfire
Stunning aircraft! Make's a great noise on departure!

Thank you so much, I'm glad it comes of value! 😁
Absolutely superb video. Love the commentary, camera angles are just amazing and the spitfire at the end. Wow. A joy to watch. Thanks for posting.
You’re welcome! Thank you so much! 😄
Absolutely brilliant as usual Richard! Love your videos, you’ve got excellent radio etiquettes and fantastic airmanship! Well done mate. 😊
Thanks so much! 😄
Great video - I really enjoyed it, thank you. I especially liked the visuals and commentary, both ace!
Thank you! It’s kind of odd speaking to a camera for 35 mins but I’m getting there! Plenty more to come 😄
@@richardtyrer Haha! Can't wait for more! It's great to find a new quality AvChannel. :D.
Very good
Very professional
Thank you
Thanks! 😁
Fantastic video Richard, a very enjoyable watch! Always wanted to fly a DA42, looks like an amazing piece of kit!
Thank you so much! 😄
Great talk, great shots, great aviation. Subscribed!
Thank you! 😁
Nice busy flight that, looking forward to more!
Thanks buddy! Next one is ready to edit 😄
My favorite twin! Maybe some day! until then, I still love you DA40. :)
Awesome video, keep em coming!
Thanks! Most things are identical to the DA40 so you’ll have no problem when you have a go! 😄
Keep up the quality content. I’m so glad i found your channel!
Thank you! Great to hear! 😄

Great video. I enjoyed flying the DA42 for my fATPL training, yours looks wonderful. Keep up the good videos 👍🏻
It’s a great aircraft! I really enjoy flying it! Slightly less stressful than to constant barrage or engine failures you get in ATPL training tho! 🤣

Cheers from Brazil mate!
Love the term ‘Mechanical Sympathy’ I’ll use that in the future
Haha yeah I picked that saying up a while ago and it stuck with me as well 😄
Great video , you make it look so easy. If you could explain the GA Heathrow zone transit in more detail sometime that would be great thanks
Will do! I have another nice Heathrow VFR transit route planned for when the weather finally perks up!
Nice to hear the Tigermoth traffic
Yeah! You can really tell those things are open cockpit! A fair few have come out now the sun is shining! 😄
Hi Richard, love your videos, I was a private pilot on helicopters for 10 years, Jet Ranger and Hughes 500. Can you do a video on an pre-flight and engine start up please. All the best mate..

Loving your videos :-) D130 is Longmoor Training Area (lots of live firing and Army type stuff) - best off way above!
Haha thanks for that! I never knew what went on there! 😁
Beautiful 😍... what kind of camera your using which rotates?
Great footage Richard, I used to be baed out of Wycombe which was a great airfield. really liking the editing too, look forward to future posts. Quick non related flying question.. Where did you get your jumper from haha?
Thanks! 😁 Think that Jumper is from Reiss..... but it's a few years old now!
Fantastic channel. Love your Diamond. What a beautiful aircraft. How good is the visibility?
Thanks Nathan! 😁 Visibility is great, seating position is good and there are no obstructions on the canopy! The iPad mount only restricts the view of the engine so you don't really lose anything there either!
@@richardtyrer It looks amazing.
Great videos man. Just wondering? Are you panning on the 360° camera while your filming or are you panning in post?
Thanks Clint! The camera is fixed (it's a GoPro Max), so the panning is done while editing 😁👍
#basicservice love it😜
I'll get you a #trafficservice if you're good 😋
24:50 81 year old de Havilland Tiger Moth checking in. Awesome.
Im a bit new to aviation so this might be a dumb question. But you said you will be going through class d airspace… then whats bravo airspace?
Hi Richard, love your videos, especially this one as it's my local airport. Do you ever take people up with you? I'd love to join you on one of your future flights if you are ever in the EGHF area.

Hi, what did you use to clean the canopy?
Would they approve transit using this route in a SEP?
Yes they would approve it! You are normally kept below 1200ft, so in a SEP just keep an eye out for safe landing areas near a few of the congested patches! 😁👍
The Diamond Aircraft Industries design team are to be congratulated on the DA42 and the newer DA62 variant - light twin aircraft have come a long way since the Piper PA 23 of which we had a history with 30 years ago www.lebas.com
They have indeed! 😁
nice :)))
Thanks 😋
Plane porn at the end. What a lovely flight.
How do you pan the camera, left / right
Its the 360 GoPro Max i do believe
Yes, it is a GoPro Max (360 camera). I use Final Cut Pro to edit, takes a little time to get used to but you can get some really great camera angles from it!
You could be Will Buxton's brother
Haha I had to Google who that was! 🤣
