@@richardtyrer New subscriber here! just spotted your vids....me and my son.....and yes, both on MSFS flying the DA62 now lol. Are you ex military? you have that 'calm well trained ' vibe about you.
Just found this video and as I type this I'm only watching you taxi and man, you're living the life, good on you! I'd love to fly in a GA airplane ❤ I may book a flight here in Liverpool! (Edit: I can't stand being in a Jet with all those other people, it's so sterile and boring 😂)
You can tell the consequences of COVID due to the lack of ATC comms, they’re so quiet but that doesn’t spoil what an awesome video this is. My question is; that DA42 privately owned by yourself or part of a flying club? Please keep the content coming.
Yeah it’s spooky! It feels like the radio has failed occasionally it’s that quiet! The DA42 is my aircraft, I bought it to do a world trip, but that has been put on hold with Covid for a while.... Thanks! I enjoy making these videos and sharing 😃
Stupid question - but have Diamond released a new version of the 42? The ones I've flown (and passenger-ed in) had a slightly different panel layout, with more basic pages on the G1000s. Edit, should also have said what a nice video this was! +1 sub
Thanks! Main difference is the G1000 NXI update, so you can get a few extra things like synthetic vision etc. A lot of the additional pages are options (wx radar, satellite weather etc)
Nice plane! I've noticed that most of the time you are cruising around 142 kt ground speed. At a certain point the wind shows 14 kt head, so that would be 156 kt true. Is that really the usual speed of the DA42, or are you really flying "economy mode" on this video?
Nice breakthrough…..lovely day for flying. Props seem to be synced. What companies do you use for NAV and flying instruments? Does your ride require annual inspections, similar to the U.S.? I subbed you and trying to catchup on your earlier flights. Cheers 🥂
Thanks Joe. The standard instruments in Diamond aircraft are Garmin G1000, the iPad APP is Foreflight. The aircraft is on the US reg so it is subject to the same inspections as all other N-reg aircraft regardless of based country! Hope that helps! 😁
I'm 6'2"! There is not a lot of headroom but with the in-ear headsets I'm not hitting the roof! There is good seat adjustment which helps with being taller.
Thanks! No I don’t, with airflow the water disperses quite nicely! It does have an anti icing system where you can squirt TKS fluid on if required, but it’s messy sticky stuff
Hi, Nice and relaxing video for those like me who miss flying.Could you make an introduction of yourself on Video? Have a lovely Sunday and keep up with the work, nice Newbie channel.
Beautiful birds to fly except one thing... TERRIBLE visibility. Very tall dash so unless you're 6'4" or more you've got that to contend with. Otherwise... outstanding aircraft!
@@richardtyrer another issue from a training perspective is that, due to the FADEC system (which is beautiful) it can make a transition to a job difficult for some people. If they get a job flying Navajos or something with mixture and prop controls, some people might find it to be quite a challenge. Regardless, I love the plane!
Thanks for posting this great video! Keep up the good work and many happy landings! Grtz from EHBK
Thanks so much! Never flown into EHBK...... maybe one day! 😁👍
That is a beautiful Diamond you have there.
Your videos ara amazing bro. I m going to fly with a Da42 next week and super excited
Hope you enjoyed the aircraft! It's a good twin to learn on 😁👍
Really helpful video to build my own confidence! Thank you for taking time to do this - have subscribed and thumbed up!
Thanks Harshad! Safe flying! 😁
Awesome watching these videos. Just beginning my PPL journey outside of Munich, hope to manage my own DA42 one day!
Thanks so much! Good luck with the PPL, you'll get there before you know it! 😁👍
It must be so easy to get a pp and comercial license in the us. The gasoline is so cheap. In Brazil we pay 14x more per liter
🤩 Looks the new Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 🛩
Never thought listening to ATIS could make you nostalgic. Loving the vids mate, nice work!
Love flying the DA62 in MSFS 2020. Nice to see that it has a good following in real life....
They have modelled it really well compared to the real aircraft! 😁👍

Great stuff mate, love it
Thanks! 😎👍
Great video. What do you use to hold the iPad mini there?
It's a fixed part specified for this aircraft, with a simple short RAM Ball arm and a tablet holder. Works well in this aircraft!

Nicely put together mate 👍
Looking forward to the next one 🙂
Thank you! 😄
Happy New Year! I understand if you're too busy for more content but hope you're doing okay! Cheers!

very good recording bro, keep them coming, big fan of diamond here
Thank you so much! 😁
Love flying out of Norwich
Great place to fly from! Best of both worlds! Thanks 😁
Great video 👍.
I worked at Norwich some years ago Lonnnnnnnnnnnnng taxi, seems to go on forever.
I used to work there before as well! Great airfield! It can be a bit of a trek going from one side of the airfield to another!
look at you, now even a youtube star, well done. hope that filming is not to much of a distraction
Wonderful video! May I ask what the rattling sounds are while you are on the taxiway?
The nose gear can rattle a little bit at certain speeds and surfaces! Thanks 😁
how tall are you? how do you find the DA42 cockpit size compared to other similar aircrafts, are they on the small side?
I'm 6'2"! There is not a lot of headroom but with the in-ear headsets I'm not hitting the roof! There is good seat adjustment which helps with being taller.
Loved this 😁 thanks!
Thanks so much! 😁
Nice flight 👍 Do you treat the wind shield with water repellent?
Thanks! No I don’t, with airflow the water disperses quite nicely! It does have an anti icing system where you can squirt TKS fluid on if required, but it’s messy sticky stuff
Can you please tell me what gopro are you using and also what cable are you using to hear audio please thank you
In this video it’s a GoPro Hero 9 & 8 black. Cable is from NflightCam, It only works with certain GoPro black models
What app are you using (and that’s overlayed on the side of the window)?
ForeFlight!
@@richardtyrer What are the things it does better for your purposes than SkyDemon? (I'm a single engine PPL, SkyDemon user)
@@richardtyrer personally i think sky demon is better for uk vfr flying
nice :))
Thank you! 😄
Hi,
Nice and relaxing video for those like me who miss flying.Could you make an introduction of yourself on Video? Have a lovely Sunday and keep up with the work, nice Newbie channel.
Thanks! It’s a good excuse to go flying to keep the content coming! That’s a good idea, will look at doing that! 😃
Do you fly to Elstree
I have only flown from Elstree a handful of times, but not in the last year or so! Nice airfield though!
Beautiful birds to fly except one thing... TERRIBLE visibility. Very tall dash so unless you're 6'4" or more you've got that to contend with.
Otherwise... outstanding aircraft!
Luckily I am 6'2" so I find it quick good! I love the aircraft, really a well laid out modern twin! Thanks! 😁

why do you look so sullen mate? You look like you're forced to fly, smile a little
