I love Gloucestershire and Sandown. Two great aerodromes. beaulieu is pronounced ' b'you Lee' BTW. Nice flying, and some great ATC service from Solent and Gloucester.
Brilliant video - subscribed! I fly the PA28 but only in a virtual sense (A2A) but this is a great video to learn from. Would love to get PPL one day :-)
Great video, as usual Ben. The 'old RAF airfield' you mentioned is Ashley Walk in the New Forest. It was used as a bombing range during WW2 and it was here there that the first test of the Barnes Wallis designed 22,000lb Grand Slam bomb was carried out.
Hi Ben. Another great video. I have watched them all now and they were a great help when I was refreshing my licence recently. Question. Looks like you use an iPad mini for Skydemon. I have just acquired one and wondering what case/kneeboard to get for it. What do you use? I like the way you seem able to flick between paper info and the iPad. Would you recommend it? Nick
There's a difference between a trial flight and a flying lesson. Your first flight (which hopefully will include you taking control) will determine whether you would want to become a pilot, whether that be GA or Commercial. It's whether you get that flying BUG.
Hello Ben . Firstly, i'd like to say that you produce some great content and videos , which are really helpful whilst training for my PPL. Secondly i'd like to ask what app that is on your ipad.( i know this is a frequently asked question)
Hiya, what lead do you use with the Go pro camera for picking the Comms up and the ATC chatter. Just started using my camera for my flying and would like to have the Comms in the footage ??
In my experience Sky Demon is simply the best there is, all the pilots at our field use it. It really does do everything you could want in a VFR programme and much more, it even files the GAR for you!

Enjoyed the video Ben. How many cameras are you using now and are you still recording sound via a separate sound recorder?
+Jodel Flyer I'm using four GoPros now and still a separate sound recorder. All the equipment is in the description!

Hi Ben, What software do you use for editing your videos? Thanks!
Nice shot of GCHQ on base! I got the bug for flying at this very airfield as a kid!
+ChrisWhite85 great airfield!
Nice video. About time ;)
+Andy Donaldson I know! I've been down in Bristol taking my next set of ATPLs and had to put editing on hold - I'm back to normal now though aha!
Plane Old Ben oh great stuff. Fancy the airlines then I'm guessing?
Was there a plane, nose down in the grass to your left on departure?
+Danny Whittingham I think so!
Made me chuckle at your pronunciation of Beaulieu @10:59... It's pronounced 'Bewli' ;)
+Craig1231 aha you're like the fourth person to comment telling me how to say it! I'm a northerner, you guys down south spell things weird!
I passed my PPL skills test in a Cessna 150 and on the same day, someone took me flying in a PA28 to Gloucester Airport
Would you be able to review SkyDemon? Cant find any good ones on youtube. Thanks
