Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is such a beautiful game, there is nothing like it. As an aussie I think its really cool to have a game based on Australia. I actually live on the only island that Tasmanian Tigers ever lived on and believe the biting mechanic is based on how massively wide Tasmanian Tiger's could open their mouths, it often looks like they'd dislocated their jaws! Its too bad that theyre extinct now :(
+Amar Rama I can't remember the Link, but I'm sure you'll find it by typing it into Google. The HD remakes have been confirmed for both Steam and PS4, and is expected to be available on Xbox One Marketplace sometime soon.
They should bring Ty back. Then again, Jak & Daxter and Crash Bandicoot were bigger names and they're completely forgotten by their developers, so it's not likely.
Azariachan Anytime, I have to warn you though. They had to make Ty 4 in 2D because of lack of budget; however, I heard that if the re-mastered games do well then Krome will remake it into a true 3D title.
RenegadeElite101 Yeah, I looked it up on Steam and was surprised it was 2D. I'd prefer a proper 3D sequel, but I quite like 2D platformers as well. Rayman Legends was fantastic so if Ty 4 is anything like it, it must be awesome.
True Pride Jak & Daxter MIGHT be coming back. Naughty Dog's been posting a lot of J&D stuff on their Facebook page lately, and since Uncharted 4 is supposed to be the final game in the series and they'll need new stuff to work on, many people think they're hinting at a future J&D project. Crash is probably gone forever thanks to Activision, though.
Hands down one of my favorite video games. It's not the deepest game in terms of story or gameplay mechanics, but for what it is - a simple 3D collectathon platformer - it's highly enjoyable. Not to mention this game has an awesome soundtrack.
This looks like a combination of the three characters that are in the hospital beds... Crash is the level design (theme wise, all natural and stuff) Spyro is the characters abilities (ranged attack and melee attack... Even gliding!) And sonic is character design, seriously the two look super similar (just me? Ok)
this was my childhood along with jak and Dexter, sly, and ratchet and clank its all so the 2 game I ever 100% with jak 1 being the first. wish I stall have the game might buy it online to replay it.
+Zuon94 Lack of budget, their currently remaking the original trilogy though in HD. It's been confirmed for steam and PS4, with Xbox One expected to be announced soon. Rumor has it that if the HD remakes sell well enough, Krome is going to remake Ty 4 in 3d.
+RenegadeElite101 They won't be remaking Ty 4 into 3d. Krome stands by the fact that it's canon and they're leaving it untouched. Howver, if they have the budget, they said that they may try to make an all new 3d installment into the franchise, Ty 5. Hopefully they get the budget for it... I wish I could donate to Krome Studios.
That's not true the games are selling also they are gonna make Ty 5 on the unreal engine 4 after the collection gets sent to PS4. Ty has a decent fan following.
i loved the second one as a kid, i played it a lot, you having a video about filled me with nostalgia, thank you, AntDude, for reviewing this because it is a lesser known title, and i loved the games!
Nonono! You got the story wrong, this is the real story: Boss Cass wants to take over the world and kill all mammals, but he needs the talismans to do it, thats why ty's family protect it!
Oh my god, literally everything in this video I remember, every line of dialogue and every level, every location of all the scales, cogs, everything. This might be my most played game of all time, every day as a child I would play the same levels over and over and over again that never became boring, this is defiantly one, if not the greatest game of all time in my opinion....
My experience with this game: Looked around local gamestop as a kid looking for what game to get with my birthday money Start randomly looking at the used gamecube games cuz they were cheaper and I had a gamecube back home. Picked a copy of this up looked at the back cover saw a koala (My favorite animal) showed mother she knew what was up and we went home with a new platformer for the family collection. 1st time I got save file 1 before my other brother. I still fondly recall grabing all the rainbow scales and finding the secret level that I know know was just a test area for the devs they left as a secret for players to enjoy if the 100% the game.
Hey, I had this game when I was a kid, awesome! Never really beat it or played much of it though, I just used All Boomerangs and scales codes for it and walked around. I think the game didn't have enough direction to tell me where I was supposed to go and what I was supposed to do.
There's actually a lot of controversy on whether they're truly extinct or not. There was a big thing about it in 2016 when one was said to be caught on film.
I used to play this game really much when i was like 4 years old. I only reasently found the title, and its a giant nostalgia boost for me seeing and hering the sounds of this game.
I saw that commercial on YT a long ago, and it was probably the best one for a 3D platformer of that generation. Also, it's very sad how this game won't play on a slim PS2.
what i liked about this generation of platformers, was that because of the technology, they made much bigger world and levels to explore. 3d platformers are my favorite type of game, and the diffeence i notice with n64 ones, is that they are smaller and more cramped, but more puzzle like and still have all the great things of a platformer. with this generation it was cool to see how gigantic they could make the levels.
I FOUND IT! I have been trying to explain this game for over a decade to people, trying to find anyone that remembers this game or can remember the name of it but not a single person has any idea what I was talking about. I was beginning to think I was going insane and had hallucinated the whole game. I remember loving this game when I played it, even though I remembered next to nothing outside of the basics of gameplay and the general map but for the life of me couldn't remember or find anyone who knew the name of this game (or anyone who'd even HEARD of a game like it). Everyone always thought I was talking about Banjokazooie.
I use to play this at my aunties... the day i got my xbox and my mum gave me this game i was so happy :D i love ty he was great and being an aussie the language was just perfect to hear being there wernt many if any games that used aussie slang
Dude i played TY 2 ages ago when i first got game cube, i just this week came back to it now i wanna get the whole series. But i might just wait for the hd collection, its gonna be rad to play them all
Ty 1 was great with its simplistic design like Spyro in going through portal & doing portals & the music & collectibles were great. Ty 2 however changed the voice cast, had a boring soundtrack playlist, made it a tedious open world & changed the artstyle & character models. Sure a letdown. Idk on Ty 3 but only Ty 1 was great for me.
Throughout this whole video I kept pausing and being all technical and I always said "sir" at the end of everything lol Okay the "medallions" are the 5 Mystic Tailsmans and when you collect all of the Rainbow Scales you get an extra heath meter. Sir. But yeah this game is like my whole childhood and I absolutely love it.
Ty has a lot of replayability, the whole series does thanks to cheats to start a new game unique. Here's something thats the ULTIMATE trolling of sequence break in ty3: ring rang + zoomer chassieses + 2 to 3 magnet chassies = skip all latform puzzles with items at the end by getting the right angle and sniping them to you.
Mom bought me Luigi's mansion from eBay or something for my 14th birthday. Opened it, and a ty the Tasmanian tiger 2 disk was in there instead of Luigi's mansion. I'm still mad.
This was the first video game I ever played. Never beat it, I was complete garbage at it, but I to this day have fond memories of it and can't wait for the remaster to come out!
yeah, I am glad they are all real Australians. I am glad they have real Australians for this because that is how you do it, you don not get American actors or actress to do the Australian characters.
lol i wish i could of experience this game, but as a kid I got stuck around the first few levels. i remember you had to do something (or find one of those colorful orbs?) in a cave nd unfortunately, walkthroughs were more reliable in books than the internet in the early 2000s. :( i want to go back and beat the game!
I forgot about this series for a while until I played Blade Kitten when episode two finally got released... I know it sounds weird but trust me its good.
Gaming adds were pretty ballsy back then. If it isn't Crash making smack talk to Nintendo it's Ty brutally assaulting some of your favorite characters.
Kind of odd how a game set in an Australia and from the Gamecube/PS2 has more voice actors that have Australian accents than the Mad Max video game from 2015
this game had the best final level in the history of video games, you did not need to find things,it was a very nice change. The level design was very varied, finding one orb felt good, and you get a new level for 100% completion,
the fact EVERYONE is an australian animal is cool, and the setting looks very Australian too. They did their research. but the accents are... not the worst ive heard... but... its about as accurate as walking into a texan bar shouting "HOWDY PARTNERS! YALL SHOULD COME ON A ROUNDUP AND A BARN RAISING" or whatever. we dont sound like that. we dont say those things. its not too bad but don't try and pass that off as accurate. also, its Cassowary as in "im WARY of that bird with the fucking knife for a head!" and Frilled Neck Lizard.
Is it just me or did the "Hedgehog" look more like Tails than it did Sonic...? It also kinda looked like Conker. But it didn't look anything like Sonic to me... Which was weird for me cause the Dragon and Bandicoot were clearly Spyro and Crash, respectively, and looked exactly like them.

+Pookiebutt That's really interesting! I always wondered what Aussies thought of Ty!
Glad you love it just as much as the rest of us :D
Shiny Anaru
Yeah, I always thought the Ty series was awesome. Aussies should like it even moreso because its so reminiscent of aspects of Australia :)
This is the reason Australia is my favorite country. That and your amazing accents
Pookiebutt I'd actually like to visit Australia someday
Come down, it's pretty good once you get used to the fact that everything is trying to kill you.
TY THE TASMANIAN TIGER HD CONFIRMED BY CHROME STUDIOS
WHATT????? Can you give me a link please!?
+Amar Rama I can't remember the Link, but I'm sure you'll find it by typing it into Google. The HD remakes have been confirmed for both Steam and PS4, and is expected to be available on Xbox One Marketplace sometime soon.
RenegadeElite101 hahaha yeah, I already read KromeStudios tweets about it. Real happy about it :D
+Apocalypsehigh Thanks, man
+Apocalypsehigh Fuck HD, give us another sequel
I loved this game so much. I have great feelings of nostalgia when watching his video.
They should bring Ty back. Then again, Jak & Daxter and Crash Bandicoot were bigger names and they're completely forgotten by their developers, so it's not likely.
+Azariachan They made Ty 4 last year, and are currently re-making the original trilogy in HD.
RenegadeElite101
I had no idea it existed. I must give it a try. Thanks!
Azariachan Anytime, I have to warn you though. They had to make Ty 4 in 2D because of lack of budget; however, I heard that if the re-mastered games do well then Krome will remake it into a true 3D title.

I agree wholeheartedly. They ramped up mechanics and the story line in the second thankfully
This looks like a combination of the three characters that are in the hospital beds...
Crash is the level design (theme wise, all natural and stuff)
Spyro is the characters abilities (ranged attack and melee attack... Even gliding!)
And sonic is character design, seriously the two look super similar (just me? Ok)
Corbin Giese nice observations
4 years later, no sequel videos
Bush Rescue deserves a review. I played through that game 3 times
I think the most underrated aspect of this game is that it has interactive grass, such a great step foward from the competion...
man, this was like one of the first games I ever played.....ahhhh.....memories
This game reminds me a lot of Ratchet and Clank and Banjo Kazooie.
It has that vibe
that god damn turkey.
No, those turkeys. *shudders* Also the demon child bonnie, who gave me the most trouble.
That's called a Scrub Turkey. Yes, they really are bald and hideous.
COOK IT!
Hated that thing. But it was so satisfying to sink your teeth into his annoying ass.
He also has on eye with 2 pupils... like sonic.
this was my childhood along with jak and Dexter, sly, and ratchet and clank its all so the 2 game I ever 100% with jak 1 being the first. wish I stall have the game might buy it online to replay it.
I think I remember that barrier reef level the most, this game had some cool levels.
Just out of curiosity, will you ever get to reviewing the sequels?
Seconded.
I remember that commercial when I was a kid. It got a laugh out of me and because I liked those kinds of games...I of course got it at some point.
lol that commercial made me not want to play this game as a kid
Why the hell is Ty 4 two-dimensional?
+Zuon94 Lack of budget, their currently remaking the original trilogy though in HD. It's been confirmed for steam and PS4, with Xbox One expected to be announced soon. Rumor has it that if the HD remakes sell well enough, Krome is going to remake Ty 4 in 3d.
+Zuon94 Microsoft Hired them to make the game for windows 8, they specifically wanted it to be 2d.
They want to make a Rayman Origins clone.
That's not true the games are selling also they are gonna make Ty 5 on the unreal engine 4 after the collection gets sent to PS4. Ty has a decent fan following.
There’s an HD Remastered on the switch now!
i loved the second one as a kid, i played it a lot, you having a video about filled me with nostalgia, thank you, AntDude, for reviewing this because it is a lesser known title, and i loved the games!
This game was just so much fun when I was a kid.
Ah man. The childhood feels from this game are drowning me.
Nonono! You got the story wrong, this is the real story: Boss Cass wants to take over the world and kill all mammals, but he needs the talismans to do it, thats why ty's family protect it!
And the rainbow scales gives you more health when you got all of them!
Why are Kangaroos in his army then?
I know this video is fairly old now, but really surprised to not see one comment calling out him missing the Aquarangs in his descriptions
Oh my god, literally everything in this video I remember, every line of dialogue and every level, every location of all the scales, cogs, everything. that music I feel the nostalgia
MY CHILDHOOD
It's so strange hearing what you sounded like closer to your Sonikdude days today.
Can't help but roll my eyes over his subtle complaint of Australian stereotypes when this game was made by Krome Studios. A actual AUSTRALIAN studio
"roll my eyes" is the vibe of most of this channels videos
This is undoubtedly my favorite game series of all time. I wish had all the TY games so I could play them again.
you got me into this series man ! only have 3 atm but please review the rest of the trilogy always love a good platformer like TY
This game just oozes out incredible nostalgia and memories. So good~
I was wondering how this video was released in the future until I realized it said 2012
I loved the Ty trilogy as a kid and I still love it to this day.
That ad though! I didn't know Ty rolled like that.
Always loved that game as a kid, really glad Krome came out with some HD remakes.
Hey, I had this game when I was a kid, awesome! Never really beat it or played much of it though, I just used All Boomerangs and scales codes for it and walked around. I think the game didn't have enough direction to tell me where I was supposed to go and what I was supposed to do.
Krome Studios, the game's developer, also made a Jimmy Neutron Operation: Rescue Jet Fusion game using the same engine as this game.
I would love to see you cover these games again
Rest in peace Tasmanian tigers ;-;

JANUARY 25th 2021 Ah Memories

I miss Saturday morning cartoons with all my heart. Those were the only thing in the world that could make me get out of bed before noon.
I use to play this at my aunties... the day i got my xbox and my mum gave me this game i was so happy :D i love ty he was great and being an aussie the language was just perfect to hear being there wernt many if any games that used aussie slang
wooo! i find your reviews very enjoyable, I subbed too! Quick question what do you actually prefer Banjo Kazooie or spyro 2? :P
welp Ty is going to be back at the end of this month on the Switch's E-shop
I love Ty but his eyes always remind of Sonic's eyes and his mouth is freaky!
I think he looks like something out of Wallace and Gromit lol
Dude i played TY 2 ages ago when i first got game cube, i just this week came back to it now i wanna get the whole series. But i might just wait for the hd collection, its gonna be rad to play them all
this game looks like if an Australian sonic was set in a banjo kazooie type game.
I praise the music, the gameplay the characters and everything is awesome. I give it a 98%.
Ty 1 was great with its simplistic design like Spyro in going through portal & doing portals & the music & collectibles were great. Okay the "medallions" are the 5 Mystic Tailsmans and when you collect all of the Rainbow Scales you get an extra heath meter. Sir.
But yeah this game is like my whole childhood and I absolutely love it.
This and Spyro: Year of the Dragonfly, were my childhood.
Do you ever plan on covering the other two Ty games or the GBA versions? I'd tune in for that. I've never played them but I've always been curious.
One of the first games I ever played when I got an original Xbox as a child.. The memories..
Im not going to lie, the commercial had my fanboy panties in a knot when I was a kid. I never played that game.
im actually a fan of ty, like a huge one,
that means i like ty 2,
that includes the helicopter missions,
nut including the gokarting yet
The theme music brings back so many memories lol
He sounded more shy back then
I remember this game. They need to bring this genre back.
I swear that whole "play tag and then fall into a hole" reminds me of Batman Begins
Dude, your reviews are awesome. I just subscribed. Keep up the good work, dude! :)
Hyped up af when i saw all ty tasmanian tiger games were avaiable on steam and bought it immidetialy
Mom bought me Luigi's mansion from eBay or something for my 14th birthday. Opened it, and a ty the Tasmanian tiger 2 disk was in there instead of Luigi's mansion.
I'm still mad.
I used to play this but I couldn't find it again but I couldn't find the name. I really have memories attached to this game.

I myself can confirm this too, we had a test on it not to long ago.
The Rainbow Scales do actually do something. Once you collect all 25 you get an extra health "paw".
Hey any dude when are you gonna do a video on ty 2&3? I really wanna know your thoughts on the other games
Kind of odd how a game set in an Australia and from the Gamecube/PS2 has more voice actors that have Australian accents than the Mad Max video game from 2015
Ty is so cool..
With his.. Sideways grumpy face..
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger deserved to be noticed a lot more than it is now. It has mostly good qualities about it. Hopefully, people notice it more.
I wish there was a Ty 4, or a Ty HD Collection!
I love you. I had completely forgotten about this game and you have renewed my childhood love for it.
I remember all the good times with the Ty games.
this game had the best final level in the history of video games, you did not need to find things,it was a very nice change. The level design was very varied, finding one orb felt good, and you get a new level for 100% completion,

we dont sound like that. we dont say those things. its not too bad but don't try and pass that off as accurate.
also, its Cassowary as in "im WARY of that bird with the fucking knife for a head!" and Frilled Neck Lizard.
OMG, I play this game when i was a kid!!
Me too!!!
Aye man TY IS COMING TO SWITCH!!!!! it’s time to do videos for 2 and 3!!!!!!
i loved this game
Me too man
Michael Petersen
so many memories
CASO-Wear-e
is how you pronounce it
Is it just me or did the "Hedgehog" look more like Tails than it did Sonic...? It also kinda looked like Conker. But it didn't look anything like Sonic to me... Which was weird for me cause the Dragon and Bandicoot were clearly Spyro and Crash, respectively, and looked exactly like them.
Those luminous eggs.... Reminds me of the data eggs in Digimon Rumble arena 2
I actually played this as a kid but had forgotten about it until now! XD
played as a kid i always thought it was a banjo kazooie for poor people! lol
Damn, i grew up on this game, when i was a kid, i must have played this whole game 5 or 6 times over, memories...
I'm going to have to get this.It will be nice to have a "new to me" good old fashioned platformer.
I grew up with this game and its first sequel! I honestly love them
