We lost Dean on Christmas day 1995 he was only 78. He was still a young man.
It is a shame today's youngsters will never experience Dean Martin or the Rat Pack. He and they were truly an amazing act.
Dean Martin was a first class performer , genuine, fantastic timing.
They don't make classics like him anymore !

I still miss Dean today. He was from Stubenville.Ohio only 253 miles from Cincinnati. He had a lot of talent. And he was good looking.
I am 57 years old now. I remember hearing Dean's smooth singing voice. His effortless charming voice. He had fun in his life. He lived it to the most. He was loved by millions. His musical legacy will live on forever. There will never be anyone even close to Dean Martin. He was a clown and a class act. Always in my heart, Dean. xo

Jerry was the clown, but for me Deans ad-libs and clever wordplay was always much funnier (especially when you consider that he never even spoke English until he started school, and was always self-conscious about what he thought of as his bad English; “When Jerry and I first became famous and used to go to parties, I would never say much and people thought I was stuck-up. But it was because I couldn’t speak well, so I would keep my mouth shut”). Dean just had ‘funny bones’ and always saw the humorous side of everything. As Jeanie once said; “He had his own unique way of looking at the world”
Linda Shelley Well to me Jerry just acted like an idiot, but Dean had the deep humor after he left Jerry if course which was the best move of his life. Jerry hung on to that relationship the rest of his life. He always stopped being an ass when asked about Dean!

Dean loved Christmas. He always had a Christmas Special on his tv show, every year. It is so ironic that he died on Christmas Day in 1995. Yes, I'm sure that Dean is in heaven singing with the angles.

What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful entertainer. Every year around this time (Christmas) I think about Dean, and where I was when I heard of his passing Christmas morning 1995. I was with my oldest sister, we were talking about Dean and all the joy he gave the world. That was just about the last year my sister was well, and we shared tmes like that. She passed a few years later, but I always think of her and Dean this time of the year. I hope I can hear his voice 1 time when I get to heaven.

I saw both Frank and Sammy in Vegas but did not get a chance to see Dean. He was the king of Kool with a capital K. Sammy always wanted to be Frank, Frank always wanted to be Dean, and Dean always wanted to be playing golf. His said and did funny things and Frank could not tell a joke to save his life. Remember the good times. R.I.P. fellow Gemini. ( Died 12/25/95)

As I am about to turn 69 y/o, I realize just how sad it is to " get old". I'm so far from the man I once was --&, watching Dean as he grew old, I understand that no one escapes --he was the most handsome man I ever saw when I met him in '64. --But as with me --now--time wasn't kind to Dean, & I so understand his sadness! Wolfsky9 I am of a similar age to you so I know just what you mean. These days it’s harder for me to get around as easily as I used to. But, as Maurice Chevalier once said; ‘old age isn’t so bad once you consider the alternative!’ So, I’ll just settle myself in my nice comfy chair, watch some Dino on my iPad and enjoy a nice bar of chocolate while the rain pours down outside....👵🏻🍫

Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories of Dean Martin in your tribute. My sister and I had the pleasure of performing with him for nearly two decades... he was the best!!! "For The Good Times," we wrote a book called, "Beyond Our Wildest Dreams" about our time with him backstage in Vegas, on location and at NBC shooting his television show. Blessings!

There IS a Heaven. It's a real place. You can know for sure. Get a King James Bible. Read it. Start with the Gospels. Ask Jesus to come into your life and be your Saviour. You CAN know for sure where you'll spend eternity. It's not how good you are. It's what Jesus did for everyone of us on the Cross of Calvary. You'll spend eternity in Heaven if you accept the FREE GIFT of Salvation. It's not religion. It's not rules. It's not being part of a church. It's having a relationship with a Living, Risen Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Thank you so much for posting this! Wonderful tribute to a man I think was one of the greatest singers and entertainers. Great sense of humor and so witty! I used to love watching his show. He brought so much joy to so many!. I take singing lessons now, at 62. Now I wish I had started years ago. I even try singing a few of his songs. He is still missed! RIP Dean!
Singing lessons won't help, you've got it, or you ain't got it.
+ARTHUR GRIMES Just take the lessons. Be sure that Dean Martin did his rehearsals just like everybody else. You haven t got what Dean Martin had and Dean Martin didn t have what you have. Just keep on trying what the hell.
I happen to find him to a much better singer than Sinatra. Most soothing singing voice I've ever heard.
