I like the Civic more. Love the compact sedan handling and feel. Love the dashboard with large digital speed readout. Love the visibility especially out the front window. Both are great vehicles.
I’m a big fan of Honda... so here’s my suggestion to them for the next refresh of both models: # Civic Sport - Use LED for headlights and fog-lights - Use the 1.5L turbo engine (or offer as 2nd option) - Add BSI (Blind Spot Information) # Accord Sport - Use black grille instead of smoked chrome - Add remote start for the 1.5L - Add BSI (Blind Spot Information) for the 1.5L - CHANGE the backlight design
Rick Y. C. Yes, I saw the video when it was posted this week... it’s really a great news. Nevertheless, you’d still have to spend $150 extra for a single key-fob. Honda needs to make that as standard along with the keyless entry.
@@Sami.the.auto.advisor They can't because that's at least $500 more that they could've charged you for it. If anything they're now losing money to the people who know about the Sport key on a base model.

We just bought a civic ex on Friday and I absolutely LOVE it. We were in a toss up between the accord and civic and went with an ex which has all of the features you mentioned the sport models didn't. Sunroof, heated seats (though still cloth), dual climate control, power driver seat, a camera on the right mirror for lane departure. It's a beaut.

roberto ribas I was not referring to any particular model but rather Honda’s choice of using chrome on almost all their vehicles. They probably figured that out lately and hence decided to put black grille on the 2019 civic sedans and coupes. They definitely need to do the same for the Accord... hope that happens for the next refresh, along with a change of the backlight design.
Great Honda Showdown!!! I love both of them but I like the Honda accord better than the Honda Civic, the Honda Accord sits higher! I'm 5"3 I wish I was 6"4 lol! The Honda accord is sexy!!! I can't wait for y'all next video.
They are priced higher then their competition. Honda Civic in UAE costs almost as much as a camry. Strange. They also never dizscount on old stock but reduce the price on certified cars.. Still want one badly.
I moved up from an 06 civic to 13 accord. At that time, the bigger backseat, and available leather was the deciding factor. Today, the civic has closed that down...you gave 1.5 points all tied just to the screen and software, which is crazy.
It should also be noted that if you get the Accord Sport 2.0T vs. the 1.5, you get several more options that you would otherwise only get on an EX, including: Power moonroof, rear HVAC vents, 6 speaker stereo (vs. 4), heated front seats, power driver's seat, and blind spot monitoring, to name a few. You also get the 10-speed automatic transmission found on the other 2.0T models, vs. the CVT (unless you get a manual transmission). Of course, you'll spend about $4,000 more, and you'll get lower fuel economy and range vs. the 1.5T. There is also a well-documented "hack" for the Accord Sport 1.5T, and maybe also the 2.0T, that gives you remote start capability. Basically, the car already has it built-in, but the remote doesn't have a button for it. So, you simply buy a remote with the button, have it programmed (either at the dealer or by someone else with the proper equipment), and bam, remote start.
$4000 difference and Accord doesn't have the remote start? failure. you are too generous on the points toward Accord. That auto start should be a +3 for civic.
All Accords (as far as I know) have remote start pre-built in its Push-To-Start system. It's whether you have the correct Key Fob. I'd recommend getting a Honda Accord Key Fob that has the turn over button for remote start(the one that looks like the Civic remote in the video). Have a Honda dealer program it to your car and bam. Remote start. Enjoy
Excellent comparison vid! Having owned 5 various Honda models over the years no other make compares for reliability and value. The new generation civics are too much like scaled down accords compared to years past both in size and style. I prefer my 2015 SI vs. the newer models which are not as rounded with too many creases, sharp lines and confusing back end styling and now larger than a 90’s Accord! Not enough of a difference between these two to warrant the extra $$$, you’re as well off with the Civic.
Nice comparison. Civic exterior is better looking especially the rear side. While the Honda Accord offers better interior design, better looking infotainment system and instrument cluster along with bigger backseat and trunk spaces. I'd rather still have the Accord over the Civic in this comparison as it's much more powerful and gives you more drive range on its full tank. I only wish the Honda didn't discontinue the 2.4l engine
It's obvious that the Accord was going to win. Higher league, and the fact that they're in different segments makes this comparison comparable as comparing apples to oranges. So in the end, I'm not surprised the Accord won. (spoiler alert)

"Accord has more intuitive (dash)." Because they listened to our complaints about earlier-released Gen-10 Civics having moronic decisions about burying things behind touchscreens vs real buttons and knobs. Hence the volume knob back in the Civic, among others.
Martin Armas save the manuals! I will be test driving the 19 Civic Si and the 19 Accord sport 1.5T this weekend. I currently drive a 9th gen SI coupe but I wanting to upgrade to a four door sedan.

@@CarConfections I live in Florida, and drive the CRV 2018, but have not had this problem yet. I check it once a week. I purchased the CRV anyway because its been reported more in the colder climates.
Civic has a digital speedometer that displays how fast you are going via a digital number. The only Accord model that has that feature is the Touring. Therefore, Civic wins. It's Honda's pride and joy, their flagship!
Actually the Sport trim is the second trim. It goes Lx, sport, ex,ex-l, touring. If you go with the sport you’ll have a lot of exterior beauties but not those expensive ones like the sunroof, etc

If you adjust your mirrors correctly there shouldn’t be any blinds spots...
It's not law yet. In the U.S all new cars have to have a reverse camera by law.

This was a really good comparison and helped me make a decision.
Great!
Which one did you choose? I'm torn between the two
@@Jasmine-rw2xu get accord bro
@@Jasmine-rw2xu they’re cleaner looking
"Accord has more intuitive (dash)."
Because they listened to our complaints about earlier-released Gen-10 Civics having moronic decisions about burying things behind touchscreens vs real buttons and knobs. Hence the volume knob back in the Civic, among others.
Great comparison 👌
If your getting a Accord get the 2.0
I love my 2019 2.0 accord 6 speed manual.
Martin Armas save the manuals! I will be test driving the 19 Civic Si and the 19 Accord sport 1.5T this weekend. I currently drive a 9th gen SI coupe but I wanting to upgrade to a four door sedan.
@@towens9900 I didn't test drive the civic but I drove the 1.5 and 2.0 accord models. The 2.0 is a fun car to drive.
Excellent video!
I want to get an accord but I heard that honda's had some engine issues with fuel getting in the oil? Is that like a widespread problem or has it been fixed already?
Honda claims it only effects the CR-V and they are currently rolling out a recall for 2017-18 CR-Vs
@@CarConfections I live in Florida, and drive the CRV 2018, but have not had this problem yet. I check it once a week. I purchased the CRV anyway because its been reported more in the colder climates.
HONDA CIVIC IS GREAT
what do you get if you compare an Accord with a similar priced Civic? Civic Touring v Accord Sport? Civic Si v Accord Sport?
Honda Accord V8 turbo 450hp.
Civic has a digital speedometer that displays how fast you are going via a digital number. The only Accord model that has that feature is the Touring. Therefore, Civic wins. It's Honda's pride and joy, their flagship!
Digital speedometer, why would anyone want that ?
Dimitri Sainis it was one of the reasons i just bought a civic over the accord lol
Despite the gas mileage the accord is more superior.
Money wise just get the Civic. Accord's pricing is almost on par of SUVS or Crossovers. Unless you want to go fast then get the Accord.
Touring is higher than sport
I was looking in the comments to see if someone pointed that out. 😂
He said "The highest *value* " from
Actually the Sport trim is the second trim. It goes Lx, sport, ex,ex-l, touring. If you go with the sport you’ll have a lot of exterior beauties but not those expensive ones like the sunroof, etc
Jorge Pantoja you forgot EX-T
Uchiha_ OnTheMoon yes but it’s pretty much and EX but with the 1.5
No one rests their arm on the door .. if anything it’s on the window. That shouldn’t have costs points
Naturally aspirated is better and no one seems to realize the Civic is port injection. No worries about all the direct injection problems.
I want one with 900hp!
between 2019 civic hatchback turbo sport touring vs 2019 accord 2.0t sport, which one would you get? paying $3k more for the accord worth it?
Nice comparison!
Thanks!
Love my 2017 Accord EX-L coupe v-6 manual transmission.
So no one is going to talk about the CVT Transmission but when you go under any Nissan car review that’s all that people comment about how CVT Transmissions are so bad lol people really kill me
Because everyone else’s CVTs have proven to be solid. Nissans are literal trash lol
I own a 2018 Accord EX-L 2.0T and would only buy a civic if it was the Type R. I hope they someday offer a Type-R Accord but until then I am doing a tune to mine that should bring HP up to around 300 and torque well over 300.
They would never make a Type R Accord, I mean it’s more of a old man car.
TheBruces56 I have the 2.0t sport Accord with the six speed tranny and I am looking to tune my car also I hear it will have like 305 horse power and 345 torque and that is just with a hondata and a tune then I will be adding lil stuff like intake maybe headers exhaust blow off valve just have to find half of this stuff
Nice comparison
If you can afford it then definitely get the Accord Sport. It’s a better more adult upper class Sporty aggressive car then the civic.
Great review!
Thanks!
