When I first heard of these cases of people on their deathbed denying they had Covid, I was stunned.
Still stunned when I hear it now. This nurse has more compassion and patience than I could ever hope to have.

I hate when people bring politics into things like this. Even if trump forced people to wear a mask there is always people who won’t listen. Shutting down the country would kill our economy. Which would be even worse during a pandemic. Just wear a mask and practice proper hygiene and you’ll be fine. There is a reason 98% of people survive this thing. Yes. This thought was the first that crossed my mind. She seems to be smiling and laughing as she speaks and the smiles looks more like pain and depression and frustration managed properly by constant smiling.
Sometimes all you can do is try to laugh it off in the face of such chaos and ridiculousness. I would probably go insane and be waffling between laughing and crying if I had to deal with that many patients in denial and yelling at the people who are trying to save them as they die.
No. Burnt out. I work closely with the Covid unit in my hospital, float out there if they need nursing staff or even just to run and get things for them if they are in a room. The staff leave crying on some days but come back in the next day. Only one nurse has left there since the unit was opened up last march, they are dedicated but tired of it all.

Thank you so much for this wonderful nurse and all in the medical field and everyone involved in health care. Including care staff ,cleaners catering and everyone involved. My friend passed a fortnight ago and died of virus after only three days . This is in England. I am extremely sad. She was vaccinated. I pray for everyone who has lost loved ones it is devastating. A lot of people have their beliefs but it is awful how this deadly virus affects so many. My other friends husband had mild symptoms later on was in extreme difficulties and was hospitalised and contracted pneumonia. Luckily he has survived but is going to be off sick for a long time. I really think how brave this lovely nurse is and for informing people of consequences,thank you so much. Kindest regards.

We saw at the very beginning in NYC and NJ how overwhelmed staffs were, and without precautions the entire system would collapse; you're hearing the same cry now, but nationwide. What pains me is, I hardly ever heard those warnings in the summer, even after the Memorial Day spike. It seemed no one cared about docs and nurses when people were screaming about their 'liberties'. They didn't think about the seat belts they clicked on as they headed to their next Trump rallies.
