My mum used to be a healthy and vibrant 69 yr old until she contracted covid. She spent 8 days on a vent. Twas like a living nightmare. All we got was bad news, her condition wasn’t improving. 4th day on vent, she was given tocilizumab and miraculously got better and got extubated on the 8th day. After a month long battle with covid, she’s finally home recovering. Struggling to even stand on her own, still a long road to recovery but we are grateful we still have her. Yes, miracles do happen. Keep praying to God and never lose faith. Sending my thoughts and prayers to everyone who’s battling this deadly virus 🙏

How would that have prevented this? There's no cure for it. No antibiotics that will help. So it doesn't matter how long he waited to get tested. Nor does every doctor office have the means to test patience for this virus. The doctor office in my town does not. If you qualify, meaning age, health, then they send you to the hospital to get tested for the virus.

I’m here for the success stories. I need the words of encouragement. My boyfriend has not tested positive for Covid but he wound up being on a ventilator for around six days because he has fluid on his lungs. Today makes two days since he’s been off and I finally heard his voice. It broke me because he sounds so weak and he just kept saying he doesn’t know what’s going on but somethings wrong with him😢 I’m praying that right now he’s just still weak from being on a ventilator that long and the medications. I’m certain he has a long road ahead of him but I’m really praying that he will be a success story as well. There is NO CURE for COVID-19, and I wish more people understood that. There are trials going on as we speak to approve drugs that might cure the life threatening SYMPTOMS of COVID-19, but they're not available yet because their efficacy has not been confirmed. I strongly disagree with putting someone on a ventilator if they don't need one -- and why would you put someone under anesthesia and give them a ventilator just because they tested positive for COVID-19? That would be
irresponsible. When this man needed a ventilator (life threatening symptoms), he was given one.
Hopefully these drug trials are successful so people can take the medicine that treats the symptoms of COVID-19 (rather than have to go on a ventilator). And I really hope that a vaccine is developed to prevent anyone from ever needing these very serious treatments. At this point in time, we don't have the medicine and we don't have the vaccines, so ventilators are pretty much the only treatment, and they should not be wasted on people that simply test positive for the virus.

My 11 year old son had gotten really sick... fever, body aches, chest pain this past February. I was giving him DayQuil which only helped temporarily. He started loosing his appetite and one day his school sent him home due to a fever. When I picked him up we went straight to the doctor and they ran test and he tested negative for the flu. I believe now it may have been the covid19. They gave him flu meds and he stayed home for a week. He gotten better in 4 days. The next week he was suppose to return to school but I went into labor so he stayed at the hospital with me. The following week of that this virus 🦠 was viral via the media. To those still feeling parched no matter how much water you drink, that's your big cue to increase your salt (sodium) intake. If you feel a "film" while breathing (pulling in air but not getting through), it may help open that up too. Also cover your other electrolytes too, such as potassium, magnesium, and bicarbonates, etc. Most of that can be done through diet without doing anything extreme but it may need to be watched a lot more closely than usual. (Consider it in regards to recovery from dehydration.) Seems some viral lung infections mess with the regulatory hormone of angiotensin II (feel free to look up what it does), which means a lot of nutrients don't balance on their own as they should. Then look up the symptoms of imbalances such as hyponatremia or hypokalemia, and how quickly those can put a person into serious hurt. Thus diet and increased fluid intake isn't anything to be taken for granted while sick, particularly if in marathon mode of fighting off an illness.
And don't just take some random internet person's word. And it may only be part of some regimen needed to alleviate various symptoms. Do your homework (you've got the internet if reading this) and talk to your doctor as needed.
