- Original title: "The School of the Holy Spirit: Studies in Rosicrucian Mysticism", a lecture delivered in Los Angeles on November 3, 1957.
Quite often, the titles of Mr. Hall's lectures are somewhat misleading, which is something he even commented upon himself. Schedules were printed and mailed out months in advance, so he had to pick a topic and name it long before he spoke. And, since he did not use notes for any lecture, and mainly spoke extemporaneously, sometimes the subject would take a different direction. Always, the lectures are more about how the ancient wisdom is useful for our everyday lives, and how to apply these principles in our affairs. Because these talks are over an hour, there are plenty of interesting things for everyone.

Over the course of his 70 year career, Manly Palmer Hall spoke on various Ancient Wisdom Traditions - from Alchemy to Zen. He has been recognized as a philosopher, astrologer, and author, in particular for his magnum opus, "The Secret Teachings of All Ages".
Starting in the 1950's and continuing until his death in 1990, he dedicated many of his lectures toward the topic of self-help, for he believed (as restated many times in his own words) that each individual is responsible for their own growth and salvation. He also clearly makes the point that there are pathways and skills to learn that will assist us along our journeys. Although this recording is over 50 years old, the principles and guidance he provides are just as relevant today.

Now I' m reading for the second time " The Secret Teachings...". No other book I've read so far can equal it. For more than a year, each day I listen the lectures of MPH . Nothing can equal them either. I do my best to apply and live by this precious wisdom. Thank you for posting! 🙏
One of my lifetime favorites
A truly inspiring American that should be looked up to. Yes I know he was born in Canada. If everyone in our country had his same urge to truly understand the world in which we live in the different cultures, religions , the development of man's mind through history, human behavior ect ect then we could finally behold what a exceptionally loving and understanding country would look like. Right now the universal mindset in America is almost entirely structured on fear and misunderstanding. We have got to a point in the united states where it's become unpatriotic to try to understand our country, the culture and how it could be better. We're supposed to just sit back and lie to ourselves that this is as good as it gets. Manly was acutely aware that our country was headed to a complete disaster of materialism where the status of a person is founded upon how much stuff he has and not the actions of the person himself. Now we've become so materialistic that we think our identity is nothing more than the things we like or desire. Ask anyone who they are and immediately they will just start listing off which aspects of pop culture they enjoy most. Sometimes this fallacy of an identity can turn into mental illness. When you ask yourself who you are it should be defined by the principles you chose to follow through life whether they be "good" or "bad" doesn't matter. It easy to just adopt an entire personality from some famous person and just be them. Except that famous person is almost always acting and cultivating an image that will make them famous they are basically cartoons. It's actually seen as conceited to develop some forms of self discipline. People literally look at you like oh you think your better because you have some self discipline. Somehow we turned accepting ourselves into follow your every impulse treat people however you want and never look at your actions because this is just who you are. We're supposed to accept ourselves for things we can't change. Instead I've literally heard people say yeah I'm just a bitch I'm sorry but it's who I am I can't help it. Manly would shit a brick with alot of kids today. On a good note I do feel people are becoming more aware of the ridiculousness of the people we look up to and how they are all fake. One day we will uphold intellectuals who dare to study everything.

I'm 35 minutes in and I couldn't agree more. There was in fact a time not long ago where I believed that all knowledge should be much more widely available, I now believe that a person should be given as much knowledge as they ask for and nothing more.
Jesus Christ explained Truth is something you need to go searching for and if you do you will find it and it will set you free. Even from any masonic initiation oath. God has not given up on you yet. 😌

The secret teachings is amazing, I have read it several times on PDF format but I always wanted the book and ordered it on Amazon and it's sooooo much better, I'm still a book Guy maybe it's because Im 44 and grew up on books but I'm my opinion there is nothing like cracking open a nice paper back book being able to make my own notes Highlight some areas put post it's in others etc .. I also got the Secret Doctrine by The Madam I had so many books on Occultism, Magick, Witchcraft, Tarot, Etc and my Ex threw them all out out of spite along with my all time favorite Transidental Magic by Levi! Now I'm rebuilding my books up.
Synchromystical things will take place like that on your process of awakening . its strange but neat when u see the patterns .

@21:21 and the section leading up regarding personal mysticism is SO good. Not that there's anything trouble free or right on about this AND assume the time stamp may be a bit off.
I just finished listening to the one on thought forms which is another of my favorites but I am constantly struck by how the concepts seem more clear to me now than ever.
When I listened pre-pandemic, the concepts were there and being articulated in a language slightly different from the cultural changes in the lenses of my senses that I was perceiving the lecture but this time it was NOW.
And I've been reading and following the MPH gang for awhile. But many times the language makes them seem so far away you finally just have to put the book down 🤣. Or not. Something happens.
This is great, listening to these recordings of Manly P Hall.!! And it's great to think about all the causal magnetic use of thought and will that went into the creation of it
And here now we have other elements interacting.

Super! Super! Super! "Love" this Great Man. I am a Baconian acolyte and coming across dear Manly P Hall just delights, inspires, confirms and deeply reassures me! For me, this episode is the acme of MPH's work. Utterly so relevant or apt in application or assessment of just what is currently transpiring in our very sorry world - including our cherished Earth created by "God" who then generated Us (via the Anunnaki in part) to live or exist upon It.
The small speech after the lecture, about the Christmas booklet, brought me to tears :) MPH was really a beacon of light

So fascinating...the original Rosicrusian teachings as expressed here align with my own spiritual underpinnings of the gnosis. I always wondered the robed men who heralded my evolution on this earth plane were. Also work with the Rose. This aligns so seamlessly. Todays recollection as part of my mission. Anthropos is so far off center and deep into human degradation. However, I continue on as a Contributor to the Great Work that Spiritual force has downloaded through my Soul into this physical body that is the temple of the Almighty I AM Presence.

I got surprised when Hall described the Rosicrucian purpose of alchemy and was prepared to hear him saying that it was for the alchemy of the individual. But he said it that was for the transforming of society! That was a new take on alchemy for me, a collective purpose.
Because the inner philosophy of the R.C. is Pansophy, the Universal Wisdom, through which society can be rectified as a whole once enough people are rectified. Microcosm and macrocosm.
As a rociscrucian myself I can tell you that we emphasize helping mankind. All power that we gain through esotericism, is meant to be used to aid the fellow man, and humanity as a whole!
Interesting how the veil can be lifted on a reality in the forefront. Most if not all esoteric work is collective and far reaching in nature.
It is an inner process that eventually flows outward.

Imagine majority of the general population delicating their life to learning, who they are, where they come from, and where are they going solely based on school institutions, peers, books, and extracurricular activities that involve ones time, effort and energy. This, can only led to an after life experience. My thesis is that Esporta, “survival of the fittest”, in a sense that the creator or creators find amusement of how humans discovery humanity as a collective and or selfishness.
That's a lot of pressure on the initiate to continue onwards setting the example eternal. ❤

I have heard it was proven that Rosicrucianism is not ancient at all but was invented very recently while still claiming ancient heritage.
. I didn't investigate this claim so I don't know for sure.
. I used to have a book about Rosicrucianism and even if the claim of ancient heritage is false, it's just filled with the same ancient knowledge and training techniques that can be found in nearly all spiritual teachings. .
. So even if it's fake, it's still real..
On the contrary, it is SO old that it appears new. Manly stated this himself I believe.

Why we here in a world full of religion and hate
Every time I see the word “Rosicrucianism” I cringe, because I think of something I heard in a UA-cam video I listened to recently.
Sounds like the same paradise on earth Jehovahs Witnesses believe in.
I’m pretty sure their beliefs stem from the Rosicrucians teachings or something of that nature. I was reading parts of Fritz Springmeier’s book ‘Be wise as serpents’ and Jehovah’s Witness beliefs and Rosicrucians were referenced throughout the whole thing. The book is all about the Freemasons and the New World Order’s Plans if you aren’t familiar with it. Manly P Hall is referenced quite a bit too.
@@Sarah-fd5iv I was a born in JW I’ve also read parts of that book as well as the CT Russell’s Illuminati bloodline. The words Manly used like Society Organization and the world ruled by Religion are commonly used terms in Witness teachings.
My issue with taking man's initiative from the church and into a business is selfishness and the poisoning of the man's soul. A man should be productive but also selfless, because in the end we stand naked before our father.
Why all great knowledge hidden in the dark? .
Because unenlightened people will either attempt to use knowledge to hurt others or they will be so confused that the fear from lack of understanding will motivate people to destroy what he can't understand. I believe that in ancient times the priest class of each culture was in control of the study of the sciences and psychology because they realized that all knowledge could be used to heal or destroy. I don't believe they hoarded knowledge to have control but rather they saw the dangers of teaching the profound secrets of nature to the profane. For example we could split an atom and give free energy to all or we could split and atom and destroy the earth. I believe the old priest knew that the sciences would develop to a point that it could become a danger to every person. I think the reason all this knowledge that has been kept hidden for millennia is being given to the public now is because these secrets have fallen into the hands of evil groups of persons. There may be people using this ancient knowledge to complete tasks not beneficial to all. At the very least there a groups using mysticism and it's iniations to further materialistic ideas and causes. An unfortunate effect of this is that groups who actually study mysticism and how to use it to reach your potential so you may help your fellow man to the best of your ability is getting grouped together with these other secret groups who are only interested in perpetuating there own wealth and financial status.
What is done in the dark will be brought to the light.
Without a full understanding of the context of the knowledge, it would make zero sense to the uninitiated. It would be like explaining colour to a fully blind person..

I've listened to a LOT of Manley P. Hall in my time and it kind of takes the same path in every lecture. At first you're impressed by his wealth of academic knowledge, and rightfully so, the man was a walking library. Then you begin to realize it's all academic, including his understanding of it. Two thirds of the way thru, this becomes blatantly obvious in his pulpit preaching. At this point it's no different than listening to anyone else trying to browbeat you with a boy scout manual, so I turn it off. If he actually understood what he professes to know, he'd get WHY we do what we do, instead of gaslighting all of mankind for doing it :)
Try listening more with your heart and less from your head.🤷♂
