I never used a moisture meter to check my firewood. About a year ago i bought one and started carrying with me on all my firewood deliveries in case a customer would request me to shpw what moisture was on the wood they were purchasing. Stay safe my friend
Tim the meters take most of the guess work out and they are reasonably accurate.
Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT

Tony, enjoyed the video, when I stack wood , I put it on cedar boughs that will not rot. When I test wood, I always split it before testing. I liked many of your ideas.
Chris I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I would love to have access of cedar runners. Splitting the wood before testing is definitely the right way to test wood.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
I enjoyed your review of the Erichill meters. Seems like they would work well for my needs.

Hey Tony ,nice review on the ERICHILL meters . I like the idea of the pavers under the pallets. I ordered my Pinch-a-log , can't wait to get it . Have a good week !!
Del you’re gonna enjoy the pinch -a-log.

good tips on the patio pavers. both on how to use, and how to source. Thanks for the reviews of the Erickhill meters.
Ron glad you enjoyed the video.

I have put runners under my pallets feom the beginning. I have used everything from metal girders to old aluminum ladder sections to used railroad ties. Erickhill.
Putting something down before stacking your wood is a great idea.
It also promotes better air flow.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
ErickHill. I’ve never heard of them till viewing your video, great representation of the product. I’ve never used a moisture meter but over the years have noticed a difference in wood heat efficiency, I presume from moisture. Now is the time I need to invest in a moisture meter.👍🏻
Larry you’re right, all wood will burn but the drier the wood the more efficient it is not to mention it will start faster and easier.
A moisture meter will take some of the guess work out.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Perfect timing Tony. I’ve been looking for a meter. Thanks for the info!

Nice demo of the ERICKHILL moisture meters. You are correct when you say it looks very similar to the Toptes meter in functions and size. I would be interesting to know if one makes it for the other. Keep up with the videos.
Dan, glad you enjoyed the video.

Another great review. I have to pick up more pallets! Can never have enough moisture meters. I use the Pro Sizer quite a bit I won on your channel, good luck to your subscribers! We love giving back as well!
Heath, wish I was set up to just use IBC totes but that’s not going to happen so I have to stick with pallets.
You’re right you can’t have enough moisture meters!
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Another good one Tony !! Funny how they all read a bit different…..hmmmm The ErickHill does look like a Toptes meter with a tiny cosmetic change…..I don’t depend on one, but find them helpful to confirm what I think is dry/seasoned wood……Thanks for sharing your wealth of product knowledge 👍👏🇺🇸 Rick
Rick, glad you liked the video. I agree it’s strange how all the meters read different ly.
I’m sure with you’re experience you can come pretty close to identifying dry wood.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Thanks for the info on the Erickhill meters. Look like good value units.
Bob, glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT

Dan, glad you enjoyed the video.
The pavers should do the trick.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Thanks for the tip on the pavers for pallets. Like you, my source for new ones is poor. The Erickhill meters looks like a good, simple choice.
I agree and based on viewer comments I think the pavers will work long term.

Very well ,done very well thought-out,
wonderfully executed ,
I don't have a use for a moisture meter ,
but I ended up watching the whole review. You're doing a wonderful job.
And you are correct about the bricks / pavers,
There are three ads on F.B. today for free piles . Over 100 pieces.
Keep up the good work,
Best wishes to you for continued success and congratulations
Jean glad you enjoyed the video.

hi there good show have around 5-6 of those my self , i think the people that need them the most are the firewood buyers , so they know just what they are getting , good show john
Hey John my wife agrees with you 100% that our customers are the ones that should invest in a moisture meter.
See you in a few weeks.

Hello Tony, another great review. Job well done on the Erickhill moisture meters.
Cheers Mark from Niagara
Hey Mark glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
I bought a small meter fro harbor freight to test my camping firewood that I get for free on marketplace. It’s not an Erickhill but does a decent job.
Thanks
Barry I believe all the meters are “reasonably” accurate. They at least tell you if you have to season for 6months or a year.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Yes pallets on pavers is the way to go. I have an unlimited supply of pallets from work but still try to put our on pavers. That EH moisture meter looks like a good one. Very close resemblance to the TopTes🤷♂️🤔 Makes me wonder who makes who? Nice review as always Tony👍🏻👍🏻
Todd you are lucky to have an unlimited supply. And yes pavers are the way to go for sure.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Tony - Excellent idea on the use of pallets by keeping them off the ground. Now I need to figure out how to raise the full ones up - right. Like the Erickhill meters. Much more information than my current meter which like me, is old. Stay safe - Dud
Dud, glad you enjoyed the video and content.
You may have to wait until you unload the pallets before putting bricks down.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Erickhill moisture meter sure would be nice to have in the Woodyard

The Erickhill meter looks good. I think the wood pallets on bricks will work.
Rick I agree and based on the comments from the viewers the pavers under the pallets will work.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Well I could use an Erickhill moisture meter, you can never have to many. Tony, I really like the pallet setup. Think I'm gonna have to make some changes to my pallets going forward. Take care
Bobby based on all the people that responded saying they have used bricks and it does prolong the life of the pallets I’m going to keep using them
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT

Good stuff Tony.... My meter is better than my lips and ears nowadays....
Greg, any of my meters just give me a baseline, Touch, feel sound and appearance are the other ways i determine dry wood.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
ERICKHILL-EWM02 is the one for me. Thanks for the video!
Glad you enjoyed the video.

I'm checking out erickhill on your links. Because I haven't won anything since by bride of 43 years said YES.
Allan, one of these days you never know you might get picked.

Hey Tony, nice review on the moisture meters. We have an unlimited supply of pallets from all various sizes. We pretty much gave up on the pallets for stacking wood since they seem to be rotted out by the time the wood is dry, one time use then burn them. I could see where the pavers would help keep them off the ground and extend the pallet life. Keep up the good reviews and helpful tips.👍
Frances if I could I would store all wood/splits in IBC’s but as you know my property is not conducive for that.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Tony, it seems like Erickhill makes a really good product with the EWM02 and EWM03. Thanks for the great review!!
Bill, glad you enjoyed the video. They really seem to be good moisture meters.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Turn to Celsius anywhere outside USA... ;)
It’s sad the whole world uses Celsius and the US has to use Fahrenheit.
Just like the difference between metric and inches. I wish we did use metric, much easier!
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Timing is everything. I just put a moisture meter in my reading list until I see some reviews. Erick Hill was one I was looking at. Great review as always, thanks.
Glad you liked the video.
Both Erickhill meters impressed me.

Hello Tony never heard of erichill, good idea with the pallets, Dry is best all the time, Take Care 🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Larry I hadn’t heard of them until they contacted me.
They both are pretty impressive units.

The Erickhill Moisture meter looks interesting.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
The Eric hill moisture meters look pretty good 👍
Richard, Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
That's some cool stuff. I have never heard of erichill meters. I've alweys cut , splitt and let it dry atleast 6 months.
I bet you’d be surprised at how some wood (especially ok and hickory ) take longer to dry.
That’s why having a moisture meter is important.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
@TonysCoolTools I'm sure you are correct. I live in Ohio. We have all the oaks and hickory. Maybe should have a meter years ago.
Hey Tony great review as always. I just shot a review video on the toptes meter and I thought right away that the Erickhill looked very familiar!!
Mike I’m sure one of them is the primary manufacturer and is private labeling for the other.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Great job Tony, I have a Stihl meter and it would be interesting to compare it with an Erickhill meter
Jason, I’m sure someone is making them for Stihl and it would be comparable.
We’re going to have to get a bunch of us together and do a meter test off!
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Love you channel. Erick hill

Appreciate you watching, commenting and supporting my channel.👍TCT
Another great video. Erickhill
Doug, glad you enjoyed the video.

I like the Erickhill with the ambient temp and humidity feature. I bought a moisture meter after the video you and Chris made a while ago testing various meters. Went years without, glad I’ve got one now! 😊
Well you can’t have enough moisture meters around the house!
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Great content Tony! Erickhill.
Dan, glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Another good video as always!! Eric Hill
Mark, glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
The EricHill meters are priced cheap enough! As you know the price of these moisture meters can go from cheap to down right outrageously expensive!! Truthfully I have few different and if you stick them in the same hole they will read usually pretty close to each other
The meters used for fine woodworking I’m sure are more accurate.
Any of the ones I have in the woodyard are good enough and get me close and let me know if my split wood is ready to burn firewood.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Congratulations to the winners!🍀🥳
EWM02 winner is Firewood Therapy
EWM03 winner is Jason Braun

When I did fish tanks a lot of pumps were “rebranded”. Made it hard to replace the impellers :(
when I use my moisture tool on my wood I’m afraid to stab it deep enough in fear that I’d break it.
A lot of company do private label so you really don’t know who is the primary manufacturer?
Many of the companies offer replacement tips for just that reason.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
The Woodhaven Moisture Meter
Erickhill seems to make a good product. I hope I win!
Andrew glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Great tip to put your pallets on pavers Tony!👍🏻 I went to school with Erickhill. Pretty good guy, but could get you into trouble if you didn’t watch it. He liked to party.
Ha ha it could be him if he moved to China.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
@@TonysCoolTools was hoping there might be a consolation prize for most creative use of the name Erickhill. 😆
Erickhill meter looks great.
Dennis, Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
I have never tried the Erickhill moister meters but based on your description, Tony, I think I need one for managing my woodyard! Keep the great content coming. I have been putting my pallets on gravel but I like the weed barrier idea too.
Matthew I wish I had gravel to set my pallets on.
Based on the price and quality of the moisture meters I don’t think you can go wrong.
I’d say it isn’t 100% accurate but it’s darn close.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Nicely presented as usual 😊
ErikHill
Rick glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
I wonder how many ankles each year are broken on bad pallets???
Have you ever considered selling all your tools and then the pole barn could be stacked solid from floor to ceiling with firewood!🤠👍
Ha ha, my wife likes your idea.I compromised and said 1/2 the pole barn!
I’m surprised I’m not one of the statistics regarding broken ankles. I’m constantly breaking slats.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
@TonysCoolTools All I know is if anything was ever to happen to you or I...The estate auction will multiple days long, so bring your trailer!🤣
@ClickOnProfile713 I got you a gift also!! 🖕🖕
Erichill seems like a good one.
My question and maybe you can do a video or short on it. What happens if you have it set for hard wood but use it on soft wood and set for soft but use it on hard.
Jimmie I did try that and the only thing that changes are the moisture percentages going up or down a few percent. It’s not a huge change.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Great products Tony. Erickhill
Jeff &Patty I was impressed with the Erickhill meters.
Appreciate you watching and commenting. TCT
@@TonysCoolTools thank you. I am looking for a new meter for our wood yard. I’ll have to do some more research. Thanx again
Enjoyed the video. Erickhill
Bob glad you enjoyed the video.

I was using my meter today (on a splitting job) as the guy was wondering if it was ready for this year. And it was at 19 to 23% so another 2 months and he will be ready to go..
Daniel I wish my wood was close to being dry but oak takes about 2 years.
I’ve started making smaller splits to cut that time.
