I love Cut Golf balls. I started with Red and tried the Blue. I was very happy with both of them. I believe I get more distance than with most other balls. I did a ball to ball comparison against some Kirklands I had. I consistently hit the Cut Balls 7 to 10 yards longer with very good dispersion. I currently am using Cut Grey and find I like the ball, but once I run out and need to order more I will be getting more Cut Blue.

You were 100% the reason I tried the Cut line. You are right in saying everyone else trashed the one ball. I wasn’t going to try them until I watched your reviews. I think they put all their eggs in one basket sending the one line to be reviewed and it really backfired.

Hey there! Enjoyed watching your post. I am the developer of Cut golf balls from day 1. (Started tests in 2016 and an official launch in 2017.) Worked with other D2C brands and big PB brands as well. Would be happy to join on a call or share some insights on how golf balls are really made and what these brands could be hiding!

Cut offered logo printing for the Blue and DC balls last year. I took a chance and purchased a couple of boxes of each. I actually preferred the Blue over the DC. I was hoping to order more logo printed balls, but that option disappeared. I recently took advantage of a deal on their Red balls (not with my own logo). I haven't tried them out yet, but I should be trying them in a few weeks.

That I think is the best case scenario. I don't see them coming out with new stuff on their own. Otherwise they wouldn't have went silent for almost a year. I imagine they're going through a transition or sell out if the going out of business thing isn't an option.

I like cut golf ball. I tried the blue and enjoyed it. However they should have marketed the ball as for everyone but especially beginners. I didn’t feel bad losing a ball because it was so cheap. Yes the cover was a bit cheap but really due to inconsistent layer. Their are spots that were thinner than others.
Im definitely buying cut as long as i can. Gonna try the DC next.

I played Cut Grey balls for a long time and liked them. I was one of the first people to buy the Atomic Yellow version and that was a big plus, making them easier for me to find. Sadly, when my stock was running low and I needed to order balls, they were out of stock on them and I've switched to a similar DTC ball that's just a little more expensive, the Vice ball. Since I ordered from Vice, I got an email saying the Greys were back in stock, so I assume they're still in production, but I did buy the Vice in bulk to lower the per dozen cost, so it'll be a while before I look to Cut again..

I recently purchased a box of Cut Reds and was excited to try them out. I had tried the Blue and grey, absolutely loved them and wanted to see what the Reds were like after hearing a lot good things. After 2 holes my ball had 2 big splits in the cover. No nicks, splits. Second ball from same sleeve - same result, this time 4 huge cracks. Took photos, emailed Cut customer service and they couldn't care less. No replacement, no refund, nothing. They made a defective product, why wouldn't they want to make it right? Don't buy Cut, they cut all the corners on ball manufacturing and customer service and its obvious.

It's a darn shame. The cut red was originally on Pace to be a top three golf ball that I had tested on the channel. It was by far one of my favorites. However about a year and a half ago I had people start telling me the durability had gone down the toilet. I've now had dozens and dozens of people tell me this. Which caused the golf ball to be ranked in the higher teens. I love cut golf, but it appears they are either on autopilot or they are just preparing to go out of business. 😢

If Cut is having a slowdown in sales it's partly due to the name brands that are well positioned at golf retailers, online retailers, and green grass locations finally have ample inventory and are now getting more aggressive with their offers. During covid, there was no need to do any "buy 3 dozen, get one free" because Titleist and the rest were going to sell out their inventory without any deals. Well, most of those companies have done the "buy 3, get one free" and some like srixon and Wilson have/are doing "buy 2 dozen, get one free." And that comes at some expense to golfers who are buying Cut based on the price.

    • @GolfBallAddict

Great reviews. I am a senior golfer with a slow swing speed (82) and your reviews have improved my game (15 to 12 HCP). I am using the Cut Red now (which are still available at our local rural WalMart - bought another 2 dozen today) and am very impressed with the ball. I hope that Cut can get their act back together. Based on your other reviews I have ordered a couple of dozen Wilson/Staff Zips (Since my last name is Wilson I get "free monogramming").
I have a further question though. I am an engineer so I am always curious about how technology works and through the years I have had drivers with a thinner face (trampoline effect) and ones that are more solid (anvil effect). I would be curious to know which balls work better with what I perceive as those two types of drivers. Older golfers such as myself would be curious to know.

Never had a problem with the cover on the Cut Blue. Personally prefer the Cut Grey and have 6 dozen in stock from an Amazon flash sale I jumped on this summer. Cut Grey is a good ball. Period.
This spring they went to $25 and for that price point I switched over to Vice Pro. That $25 price point put them in a category where there are other strong options like Vice.
The negative reviews on the Cut Blue and the name, Cut, yeah the cover cuts, has hurt this brand. Honestly, really narrow thinking from people there because that $20 per dozen Cut Grey ball was a steal.
