    Kind of funny... I won a sleeve of those chrome soft balls for having the low net score in my league. I decided to pull one out and hit it on a drive in a scramble. I absolutely smashed a drive, and I noticed right away that it didn't go nearly as far as my Pro V1s. I thought it would be longer, and just not spin as good. Turns out it was WAY shorter, and DIDNT spin as good too. I gave them away.

      Steve Pratt Golf really? that’s awesome i kinda gave up on the chrome soft as an option , not because my driver as i have a 110 speed, but because my 7 iron at 91 was only getting 3900-4500 spin which was scaring the shit out of me , especially when at the time i was considering getting p790s and they were lower spin than my pings and the low spin was giving me a 187 carry with a 7 which would’ve made my gapping atrocious and scary. I love the softer feel ball, i been gaming the bridgestone tiger edition and to bring my spin up i began using the mizuno RB Tour ball, your video was not bad, it was just misleading because i clicked on expecting to hear about ball brand and variance, instead you out a different perspective on it and taught us what to avoid as far as ball finding scenarios. I will say it was very unique. Thank you for the update on the 2020 chrome soft, i loved the old HX Tours as a junior golfer back in 2006/7 for a bit. • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Miriam! You won't go wrong with the Kirkland here as it feels pretty soft, and most golf balls will be within 5 yards of each other at this speed. The most important part of the game will be the approach pitch or short iron and getting it to stop quickly - this will be an enormous factor in your score.
      For distance you will get more from hitting up from the inside and striking the sweet spot consistently. And make sure you have enough loft! You should be at least into a 14 or 15 degree driver at this speed.

    • @jalan8171
      @jalan8171 4 роки тому

      At your swing speed, look for spheres of the lowest compression (Duo's are a good example) combined with high ball flight potential. These may not stop on a dime around the green, they typically add a few yards in carry.

    It comes in colors as well and even wins in the simple rebound test off your garage floor. Don't take my word for it, go buy a box or two and try them. Don't let your ego get in the way because your buddies play Pro V's. You have nothing to lose and you will be surprised at what you find.

If I do miss the green its generally is in a spot where I can up and down it most times. I also focus on elimating doubles, sometimes a bogie is a good score. I worked and played a course were a lot of balls were lost in the brambles and woods and it amassed a collection that filled up eight five gallon buckets. I would take different brands of balls out on the course and compare them by hitting straight, fade and draw shots to compare carry, roll and the ability to shape the shots. There is a marked difference in performance of urethane covered balls which is seen when trying to shape shots. It’s possible to shape any ball, the difference is how much one needs to open or close the face and stance to do it. For a beginner who has trouble hitting range balls straight and keeping the ball in the short grass when playing, a premium urethane ball will result in more lost balls due to slices and hooks than the less expensive balls. But please keep buying and playing those ProV1s so I can keep finding them in the woods. 😂

      I use them too, looks like they've been discontinued however. I've got a bunch, but also finding out that I can play well with multiple different balls

    Depending on the day and how I feel after warming up... love Vice... just look beat up after a couple of rounds, Chrome if I am all over the play...Srixon if I bought it myself, otherwise no idea what it is if picked up off the course. Bad golfer, that is me... but what I do.

    Started playing Kirkland balls a year ago. My handicap has dropped from 10 to 8 in the last year. Not too shabby for a 58 year old. The Kirkland balls are as good as anything I have ever played including Pro V's and TP5's, Bridgestone's and Chrome soft. I have played them all in 45 years of playing golf. I recently played 4+ rounds with the same Kirkland ball so they last. One of the rounds I shot 1 over par. So please Kirkland balls are no better or worse than any other ball out there but they sure are a hell of a lot less money.

      I get really good distance with Callaway but have not tried the Chrome soft.

      @@louiekidd251 I have and he is right. I have hit 2 that were given to me and I ripped them high and straight off the Tee with the driver going right behind them with a Callaway super fast and a Titleist. I couldn’t believe that the super fast and prov1 went at least 30 yards further

      Most importantly, people don’t realize that these are made using the production molds and tools found in an old Titlest factory. They are actually ProV1 in this sense. The brand name of Kirkland on the ball is obviously something people have issues with, not the performance because they are essentially a reverse engineered ProV1

    What is your source claiming a ProV1 loses distance after being submerged for 6 mos.?

    I love the TaylorMade TP5 Pix and the Bridgestone Tour B XS

      They are great mate but they are top of the range $$$$. Looking for some value that are super close to this but about two thirds of the price. Used TaylorMade project A for a few years now and are brilliant. TaylorMade have finished this line and come up with Tour response instead but only a few dollars a dozen under the TP5. Why bother for that saving, just get a TP5 which is what TaylorMade want us to do. I’m going to go to the Mizuno RB566 range and see how they go. I bought a heap of Callaway Supersoft really cheap, I got orange ones intending to use them as practice balls because they were cheap and would stand out as mine if others were practicing on the same area but found them really good in cold conditions so I gamed them for awhile but my playing partners are giving me shit for using orange balls. Looking forward to seeing how the Mizunos go.

    Recently picked up Maxfli Soft-fli 35 balls at Dick's. Three dozen for $30. They fly striaght, far enough for me to be within mid-iron range to the green (I am not a long hitter. 260-ish max on a drive). And, they're durable.

    A premium performance ball can hurt your game more than help it. For the less technical player. Titleist didn't sue Kirkland because it was a terrible ball.

    • @Inmotion70

      I agree that the less skilled less technical player will have a hard time seeing a big difference. In that case, Kirkland moves up as a decent value ball.
