Bro is NOT gonna like the stage coming up 😭 (It's one of my favorites though) 6:04 in the Hero Story during the president cutscene, the president's secretary tells him that their agent is sending a report, this is what she was talking about. Now that you've beat the game, the final boss is foreshadowed at 18:00 and 29:46
Cosmic Wall is just the best Mech-Level, cause it fixes the biggest issue with the Mechs. You're just very limited in movement. But the low gravity fixes that perfectly
That cutscene where Eggman has a temper tantrum is meant to be right after Sonic hopped into the president's limo and interrupted his demands for the United Federation's surrender.
The last story is beatable without the Air Necklace but it's way easier if you go get it back in Aquatic Mine. I'll be interested to see how you manage.

Interesting fact but every character has a few optional upgrades. They are not required for walkthrough but I'll still write down each one. Magic Hands: In City Escape right after running down the building, hidden beneath metal boxes in the floor. Ancient Light: Returning upgrade from SA1 hidden in Green Forest and Sky Rail for both Sonic and Shadow respectively. For Sonic, you'd need to get on top of the cave section and go to the edge. Camera should drift away, hinting at something being there. For Shadow, it's in the beginning. Instead of using a rocket, homing attack the nearby robot and go to the chao key crate. Wait there for a few seconds and a robot chain for homing attack will appear. This should lead you right to the upgrade. Sunglasses: Hidden in Meteor Herd. You need to break doors by punching meteorites on the first floors of the location and break boxes hidden behind them. Eventually, you'll find a switch that will open the center of the Rouge vs Knuckles arena. You can fall down and find the upgrade on the lowest platform. Laser Blaster: Located in Prison Lane for Tails and Iron Gate for Eggman. In Tails' level, all you need to do is get to the end if the stage and defeat every enemy in the room. One if them is hidden in the corner. Once you do that, the cage on the left of the goal ring will open. That's your ticket to the upgrade. For Eggman you need to get to a room with 4 bonus capsules, it should be right after one of the elevators. There you find two big yellow containers. Break them and you'll see a passage that leads to the upgrade. Protection Armor: Surprised you missed this one. It's in Cosmic Wall. The upgrade itself hidden inbeetween platforms in one of those cylindrical "going down" moments. You'll need to activate a missile nearby to get the upgrade. Flame Ring: Sonic needs this ring in order to advance through Crazy Gadget but for Shadow this upgrade is optional. You'll need to go back to Radical Highway and find a line of rings near the beginning of the level. Thanks to Light Dash, you can get to the other side and get the upgrade. Mystic Melody: This is the only upgrade that literally any character has. Sonic's located in Final Rush. It is supposedly located somewhere after the long platforming section at the middle of the stage. You'll have to be cautious as you need to eventually jump off the rails once you see a platform with a rocket nearby. Take the rocket, it'll lead you to upgrade. Knuckles' located in Wild Canyon. Go up the wind stream and then go find a Pharaoh statue. Above it should be a painting that you can dig through and get teleported into a room with upgrade. Tails' is in Hidden Base. It's hard to explain but near the beginning you need to take the lower paths in order to find a room with upgrade. For Shadow, it's in Final Chase. When you get to the platforming section with a bunch of spinning vertical gravitational cylinders, run upwards each one of them. Eventually, you should spot a cylinder that has its second upper part blocked by lasers which you should be able jump over once you stand on the top of the neighboring cylinder. After that, it should be easy to find it. Rouge's in her first level. Right after you spawn go right and find a diggable painting. Congrats, you got it! Eggman's is also easy, it's in Sand Ocean. Right in the first area there's a first spinning platform. On the left is a platform with Mystic melody. There you go! Also, Rouge has Treasure Scope that is the only upgrade accessible by obtaining Mystic Melody. It's in security Hall. In the main room go onto the second floor, find an old totem that seems out of place. Go near it and activate it. It will spawn a few platforms leading you to an upgrade. I didn't mention an Air Necklace since people already wrote about it a bunch of times. Hope you find that info useful.

I think you should just get every upgrade on each stage before the last story. That's what i always do when replaying the game. It's more fun and less stressful. Also you can just use the level select and choose the level without any cutscenes.
29:36 Explaining that whole cutscene There is a complementary story in the Sonic Adventure 2 Perfect Guide called: "The Truth About 50 Years Ago", in that small relatory in Rouge's POV she talks why she thinks Shadow might not be the real one After the death of Maria, where she locks Shadow inside a pod and send him safely to earth to escape GUN, as shown in the scene that played in the last episode in the cutscene prior to Radical Highway (and that you'll see again in the future, not just in this game but in future Sonic games like Shadow the Hedgehog, and apparently will also be in some capacity in Sonic x Shadow Generations), its said by Rouge that the status of the capsule was never truly been confirmed, so the Shadow we see in the present during the plot of SA2 might be a recreation made by Gerald Robotnik, Eggman's grandfather and the original one was lost forever after Maria sent the capsule back to earth, and there's also the fact that the Prototype of the Ultimate Life Form exists, the Biolizard, but you'll know about him more in the future, specificially in the next episode going through the Final Story! The story of Project Shadow is quite complex, one of the most explored and biggest lores in Sonic games, especially when talking about story points that happend in the past, prior to Sonic's first adventure in Sonic 1, like the Echidna Clan, the Knuckles Clan in Sonic Adventure that happend 3000 years ago, the story of Shadow that you're seeing in here and will also be later expanded in Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog (the game from 2005) and Sonic Battle that happend 50 years ago, and other stories you'll see in the future! And the awnser if this Shadow we see in the present day during the story of Sonic Adventure 2 is the same Shadow that Maria ejected in the ARK 50 years ago... I'll awnser that once you finish Shadow the Hedgehog (or you'll find out on your own, maybe)! No spoilers!
@@Neo-Metal17 Oh, I know, I tried my best to not spoil anything too important from this game and future Sonic games, just gave some insights about Rouge's report in the SA2 Perfect Guide, while trying to keep vague things, which I think it's something important that not everyone will read, like, I doubt he would have interest in going to extern media like that report, the stories from the japanese Sonic Team site, the Sonic Channel, etc. to get extra content and complementary stories for the "canon" "mainline" universe I even pointed that out on the comment saying "you'll know more about that later", "you'll see that in the future" Maybe I screwed up talking too much about later games like Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog, still tried my best to avoid spoiling major plot points, and I think by Shadow's popularity and how he continued appearing in future games like having his own game and now with Shadow Generations bonus content to the Sonic Generations remaster, it's easy to assume things about him, but as you said, I don't think I spoiled anything too important about the Final Story

Also you can press jump to launch and trick off of rails and ramps, a lot of the game design expects you to do that which is why you're always flying off into pits.
11:40 Ladies and gentleman I think he's finally learning how to actually play a Sonic game. Now if we can get him to get to try and get to the end of the stages in this **speed focus platforming game** with a modicum of urgency that would be great too.
I'm willing to die on that hill, but people who claim speed is the main focus in Sonic are wrong. Always have been. And Sonic Team not realizing they have been auto-intoxicated by their marketing department is the reason why so many modern Sonic games are mediocre at best. Sonic is not mainly about speed. Speed is the cherry on top for players who know the game to a tee, a bonus for the most dedicated players, but not something essential. Sonic is about physics, about momentum, about level design and fluidity, with a hint of pachinko sprinkled. Speed is secondary at most.
@@Liam3072 speed is actually not the main focus for first playtroughts, but IT IS the reward when you master the game and then you can really go faster trough the levels getting no damage and it is really satisfactory. So yes, speed is a main dish, but it comes after knowing good enough the game and make things really different from playing it for the first time
I have the tendency to try to collect as many things as possible in the first ever playthrough of a game at the expense of slowing down and even hindering my experience playing the game. That would explain why I have these habits in this game. I never finished GTA V's story until a third attempt 2019 despite my first attempt being in 2013.
@@Liam3072 That's literally saying the same thing in a different way. The entire crux of the mastery of Sonic is maintaining speed. Everything you do in the games is to the service of learning how to maintain speed, knowing when to jump, roll, homing attack, trick, boost dodge etc. You've literally just said what I said in a more detailed way and concluded "Its not the same",
@@Sleengo It's mainly a thing I notice when you play the speed stages tbf and you seem to have fun with the treasure hunting and shooting stages but just saying that engaging with the game in a way that it was more designed for to be might mitigate the frustration you seem to have with them. I will admit that I am not the type of guy to invite to watch a movie with.
Especially considering that you cant even carry 90% of the collectibles with you
