I owe a huge debt of gratitude to all of my colleagues for not only being on the frontlines, but also for making the time to share their unique stories, experiences, and even hopes with everyone at home. It is clear, while we have different specialties, perspectives, appearances, and locations of practice, we are more united than we realize. I consider myself extremely blessed and proud to say we share the title "Dr." during these challenging times.

P.S. In case you were wondering about "Donald P. Owens" name at the end of the video. My partner, friend, and editor (Dan Owens) lost his father right at the outset of this project due to CV. While we missed Dan's ability to edit this video into a complete masterpiece, the team and I did our best with what Dan taught us.

They save us every day, even before the pandemic. Billionaires and CEOs kill people on the contrary. All that wealth could go to the devastated for health insurance, etc, but instead it's "their wealth", they can do what they want with it. Bullshit. They are complacent to deaths upon deaths due to negligence.

@@carnivoroussarah That's bullshit. Companies like Amazon, Tesla, Google and other provide unbelievable amounts of economic value, providing millions of jobs worldwide, making access to the latest advancements cheaper and more affordable so even people in my country can afford ordering stuff on amazon that they could never get around them because the supply lines simply made it too expensive. What they get back in return is business. They aren't the mafia. They grow because people buy their products. You are a big benifitiary of what those billionaires helped make if you're watching this on a mobile or computer. The fact that you consume your entertainment on UA-cam while saying this is pretty evident that you're just mad at life and need someone to take it out on. @Abbadabs Odell but aren't ypu doing the same thing? You criticise that we are at a point where everyone battles to have the saddest story and then you say that their stories aren't bad enough? And calling others selfish for being sad about things that you don't consider upsetting enough? I don't get it. I think we can all acknowledge that everyone is going through sadness, loneliness and trauma right now. I think this should bring us together. Instead of tearing us apart.
This is not meant in a mean way. I just felt that you were contradicting yourself. But I understand that it is upsetting to be alone right now. I am not entirely alone anymore. Germany has already lifted many of the restrictions. But people are careful. I haven't hugged anyone in three months and it feels bad.

There are bad eggs in every profession, but I just can't feel that way about the majority of health care professionals despite the problems I have had myself.) My dad is a big handful and wants to teach the doctors and nurses not the other way. I cannot change my father. My best memories were those happy custodial staff. They understood I had to be loyal to my father. We had a couple good docs but they were too busy throughout the hospital . Custodial staff with that horrific job were the happiest ones at the hospital. That taught me something I needed to learn.

I am a neurosurgeon working for the NHS, six days a week. I may not directly be involved with the fight against COVID-19, but I have been interacting with carers and nurses on the front line. One of them is called Janine. I pass by her every time I go to work, and I once went to her house for lunch. She has six children, three of them under six, and she also has a husband who suffers from cerebral palsy. I mean, as a neurosurgeon, I have extensively studied cerebral palsy and I very much know the difficulties and implications. He requires round-the-clock supervision and care, but they've hired some carers. What I'm trying to say, essentially, is the fact that she leaves her disabled husband, her very young children, everyday, just to look after people. I have never seen someone so selfless. We really need to think about the unseen heroes, the ones who don't get the recognition but who do all the work. Not only the surgeons, but the technicians, and the cleaners. Without them, surgery could not take place! So sit down for a minute. Appreciate your family. Be nice to them. Because there are others who don't get to see theirs for you.

Thank you Dr. Mike for posting such accurate content and that although, there are a lot that’s happening including my father abandoning us during this crisis, I still have a chance to life and pursue my dream of becoming a doctor like you as long as I’m happy and healthy 🥰🥰

Hey y'all. I am a grocery worker. I've seen so many people come in coughing, and getting mad at town ordinances asking people to pay with card rather than cash. I've seen so many people leave their gloves in rather than trash cans. People come in multiple times, sometimes not even buying anything. I am left exhausted each night coming back from work both mentally and physically...as well as emotionally. My mom has asthma and I worry about coming home sick. I've seen so many articles of grocery workers testing positive.
It's amazing that so many people are thanking me and showing love at check out. Specially from all my elderly. It's for them that I constantly clean any surface like handles even staying off the clock to ensure everything is clean.
I want the public to do the following
    1. Don't bring your whole family.
    2. Please don't come unless you have to.
    3. Clean after yourself. I.e gloves, disposable mask, sanitary wipes
    4. Don't be mean.

I think this is old and people should stop saying that. We’re past the point of being alert. Nothing will totally come back to normal before a year or two. We’re in WAR against the virus.
People lost their job, can’t see the people that they care about, maybe can’t even get some stuff as medication or some treatment. And that will be like that for pretty much all 2020. Students that just got out of school just got no future as of right now. Some people that had really stable jobs lost them. Kids might not be able to go to school next year. Teenagers can’t get the social interaction they NEED for their development. It’s normal for people to be anxious.

@@cedricpomerleau5586 alert, but not anxious mean be alert of the news and people around you and not anxious is that you will not keep passing fake news and bulk buying stocks that you probably will never use if the COVID-19 gets resolved in the near term...
I get the economic problems it's gonna cause but right now it's the most important that we focus on beating the pandamic. All government know that already, most are already doing what they can to help reduce the impact. For example Singapore has introduced many laws to allowed the company to default on their obligations if they could not fulfill it and increased the burden of declaring bankrupt to 6 month insolvency instead of the usual. As for the civil side, they have been drawing the reserves to give money to all adult Singaporeans.
Best thing we can do is to help the healthcare people and the various frontline staff is to stay home, be alert, not anxious, don't add to the strain.

You’re correct that the term isn’t as helpful as it was in the past. But, being anxious all the time helps nothing. Being worried about every single thing that will happen in the future will not lead us to fixing the mess we’re in. Panicking only leads to more chaos and destruction. We are pass the point of being alert and we should be worried, but not all the time. If we stay worried, how will we function and fix the things that are worrying us?

Glen V I agree that panicking isn’t the right thing to do. But you say we should not always worry as we need to function and fix the things that worry us. In a normal situation, yes. But right now, most people at home are asked not to function and not fix what they worry us (not being able to work or see people).
We’re putting people in this, which worry them, then we asked them to stay like that for months. I don’t see how people could get better by any means.

I'm proud to do what I do and I do what I can to make sure I'm performing as best as I can because I know I'm just a small piece of the puzzle. My mom is a doctor and she is almost everyday exposed to the virus. She risks so much, and in return people in our neighborhood threaten our family to move away somewhere else so as we don't expose them to the virus. These are really the difficult times and due to the threats we've been recieving and us being scared too of the possibility, my mum had to move away from us. She has now been spending all her time either at the hospital or at a tiny place all by herself. I miss her terribly and I constantly worry for her health.
So, as a family member of a health care professional, please oh please people, I beg you, stay home. Take this seriously, many people, like my mother, are risking their lives for us. Every single person you come into contact with is less likely to get the virus because of your sacrifice. In my opinion its people like you that are being just as heroic and brave as the medical professionals like your mother.
Try to stay positive, this epidemic will pass and you will get to be with your mother again. Until then, try to talk to her as much as possible by phone, or even better, something like face time, or other video communication program. Believe me, seeing your loved ones on video is so much better than just voice, especially if you can't be face to face.

Unfortunately, the tp she had just wasn't gonna cut it. I told her to go ahead and buy the one big bag of tp she had and that I'd save the other bag for her so she can come in and purchase it later. When she left I rushed over and bought the tp for her. When she came back and I have it to her she started crying because no one had helped her and her team thus far. It was really sad to see someone helping hundreds of people, and in this case babies, being shunned for working along side COVID patients. She did promise to hug me after the pandemic though, which made me laugh :)

I recently saw a news report of a young pregnant nurse who had Covid-19 and passed away soon after giving birth to her child. That got me teary for a while.
So my prayers also go out to their family members and friends as well.
Im not trying to be negative here but reading a couple comments here pulled at my heart strings. This video as well, it really did.
Everyone, our Doctors, nurses, those working in the labs, cleaners, delivery, transportation, people working in the stores, pharmacies, everyone.

As an aspiring doctor who is doing undergrad biomedical engineering the final ' Stay alert not anxious ' gave me chills and also hope that one day this will all be over and our lives will be normal again. And also being a nurse's daughter, showing a little appreciation by clapping for ALL the front line workers in the morning and evening is something we can all do. Thank you, Dr. Mike in fact ALL the front-line workers for what you do !!!!!!!

I teared up. Several of my family members are medical workers in Russia. And when the government issued a prohibition to leave home, people treated it like a holiday: got out to the parks, fired up bbq's, drank and danced...At the same time, the quantity of the colleagues my family members-medics had to burry was...unspeakable. Seeing the video, seeing people applaud the medics on the streets, seeing the comments - that gives me faith in humanity.

The first one made me cry because my mother is a catering staff member it's so heartbreaking to see her go in everyday and try to make sure patients are fed and make their stay as nice as possible yet unlike nurses and doctors who are getting payed double on her ward she is still getting payed the same, she isn't given the same personal protective gear as them even though she deals with patients face to face. It breaks my heart to know that my mother who is working out there on the frontlines isn't getting recognised for her hard work and bravery

The most heartbreaking thing I’ve seen so far is a video of a doctor coming home and his little boy running towards him. He had to tell his son to stay away from him. It was such a sad video. I don’t understand how people with kids can watch that video and still think COVID is not a big deal.

ChickoOn of course it’s real you conspiracist. Many small children don’t understand what’s going on and it’s a child’s nature to want to come say hi to their parent when they get home. Like was said in the video they have to do a 30 minute sanitation when they get home. It’s not a lie
