Oh man he's pissed off , i like when he gets angry because of media giving misinformation or misleading people , i just love this man ,he's so honest , you have my Respect dr.Mike
I can honestly say as a former science journalist, it's not that they are trying to mislead - it's because they are mobile examples of the Dunning-Kruger effect. Some of us have actual training in science, technology, etc which makes it much easier to cover science and medicine and related areas. We know to check. But there are not many science journalists and pretty much no regular journos with backgrounds in sciences - and for COVID life sciences since what the hell would a physicist likely know about medical stuff? And people on social media have gotten really lazy and respond too quickly. I have even seen accredited medical doctors on twitter with no background in infectious diseases questioning the actual infectious disease experts, like a neurosurgeon would know more about pandemic control and COVID than an epidemiologist, for example. :( People need to check if they have no training in an area but so few people want to bother, journalists or not! It's laziness and reactivity and Dunning_Kruger effect, not mal intent in almost every case.
@@Seek1878 As a youtuber I get comments like yours all the time. It is impossible to think of every single point and issue that one could possibly think up and answer that, nor would people want to sit through a video that does that. I think Mike did a great job. He was concise and kept what he was talking to on what was relevant to the direct topic rather than the auxiliary topics that he could have gone into which would have lessened the impact and clarity.
I understand why though that this really chilled teacher is being like this. He is FED UP with all this hypocrisy and bigotry that is occurring everyday with people who call themselves 'professionals'. Its a Insult To His Job that he has to correct other grown ups who should be fact based instead of rhetoric based. He is disgusted that he sees the doctors of trump covering up facts and still downplaying the COVID-19 Pandemic. He's very exhausted that Politics had to mix with Science during this Worldwide Health Crisis. I understand why he's angry. I agree with everything he said but we need to stop caring so much about the rest of the world because the world DOES NOT LEARN nor does it want to learn from their mistakes. Dr. Mike needs to stop caring so much about people and only care about the smart people. Because the smart people are going to be the True People who will survive this Pandemic in the end.
I disliked the video at first before watching because from the title, i thought he would be left leaning, but right into the video (almost 2 minutes) i liked the video instead
"Osteopathic Physicians died while you were writing articles at home." I ACTUALLY GASPED. Dr. Mike is calling everybody out on their bullshit, and I'm SO here for it.
Just an FYI, the "They're not sending their best" remark from Ryan Lizza is a reference to one of Trump's remarks at a rally in 2015 when he stated "When Mexico sends its people over [to the US], they're not sending their best." Not excusing or defending the remark, just explaining it isn't as insulting as it sounds ua-cam.com/video/Jaz1J0s-cL4/v-deo.html
I'm going to be honest. I have trusted Dr Mike THE MOST when it comes to dealing with the Pandemic. His advice is always logical and is usually backed up by CDC and WHO recommendations. Plus, his "alert, not anxious" advice has really kept my sanity intact. Thanks, Dr Mike!
Same, same. Doctors all should be like him. Unfortunately theyre not. At half of the doctors I had in my life I seriously ask myself what they did in med school....
Hey DOCTOR MIKE! Big Fan. PLEASE make a video on how you take care of your "HAIRS". Cuz lots of youths are suffering from receding hairline these days.
I applaud the fact that you’re apolitical in your videos. You never degrade either side, which speaks volume to your character. It’s not about left or right, it’s about facts and health.
Yes! Finally someone says it. The comments always blames the other side. I don't care who says what. Both sides are the same to me. Bunch of old people. They either there to gain money or to help the people and get blame for everything.
i mean he most likely still has a political viewpoint, but youre just better off not mentioning it online, unless you want to cause an argument and even if you do mention it, you should probably stay respective to the other side, because most people have the common decency to respect you if you respect them thats how i go about talking with people that i dont exactly agree with when it comes to anything, and quite a lot of the time they are respectful
@@rafaelhernandez6525 As a general rule, if someone is finding success in politics, they are not there to help other people. I often get labeled as 'alt right' because i put people before politics, and often times, that directly conflicts with left leaning view points. I oppose adopting the same single payer systems used by Canada or the UK, but i am not opposed to a system that would help people get the care they need (i work in medicine, i want to help people, but i want to do it right, not adopt feel good measures that look good in theory, but are terrible in practice). I also oppose affirmative action, especially in medicine. Affirmative Action is not a good thing, period. They lower the standards based on race, and this not only insults the intelligence of minorities like me, but puts patients at risk. My views are 'American' Center, but my views are based on long term, sustainable, policy, rather than 'look at me' policies that do more damage than they fix.
You can see how passionate Dr. Mike is about this and how much respect he has for everyone in the medical community. And he has empathy for every patient. A true doctor. Props to you Dr. Mike for keeping us in check
Eyyoo thanks so much for the shout out buddy. Enjoyed our conversation with Chrissy, she’s one of the best medical journalists out there and yet still has an inaccurate view of UA-cam and the information contained therein, but unfortunately the ‘old media’ do tend to have a blind spot when it comes to evaluating their own accuracy. Excellent video - so glad you’ve been able to put it out so fast. Respect brother!
I think the problem is that your channels seem to be the exception to the rule. There are a LOT of "medical" channels posting false information and speculation, and it's an issue when people see those videos and take them to be fact just because it was a "doctor" saying those things.
I just love you, look at him people. He is one of those honorable doctors who *actually* care for people’s health and not just to take their money and some publicity. I admire you Dr. Mike, you are an amazing doctor. Thanks for being honorable and very factual, investigating, etc. I’m a med student and I really admire you!
Amen! This video should not have been as refreshing as it was. I might disagree with him on some things but he is honest, sane, and humane. Again, these are things that should not be as rare as they are these days. Also blessings in your own studies and on your future patients, Aleyda!
dr mikes eyes got moist when he said "Osteopathic Physicians died while you were writing articles at home", he was really truly angry and upset over this

Honestly I feel so lucky to have Dr. Mike here to educate and help us. He’s clearly so pissed off but still handled this whole situation with so much class and accuracy. Thank you so much Dr. Mike. You certainly have our respect and support!
I love the standard Dr Mike holds himself to. He may not always be able to achieve it of course, because he’s human. But he’s absolutely always trying to hold himself to a high moral standard and that matters and I’m very proud of him for that. Good on him.
I agree with all of this. Just think about this: if the almost irredeemably idiotic governmental system of the U.S. (yes I do live here) could stop caring about some select individuals within it, the U.S. wouldn’t be responsible for a 1/5th of CoVid19 deaths worldwide. That beats countries with truly supersaturated urban areas such as India.

What I think is even more refreshing is that, and i'm guessing here, Dr. Mike probably leans away from Trump in his views but still is willing to speak out against the hypocrisy. If only our politicians could put partisanship aside...
Paid or not doesn’t matter, his own president proves that. He’s still putting his popularity and tv appearances below maintaining integrity on his priority list. Dr. Mike still chooses to state known facts and advocate for fellow Doctors and proper practices rather than appear on broadcast TV and spout BS.
Absolutely. Who cares if he gets paid? Who cares if he doesn’t? At least he provides every information only after a fact check- something the media ought to do and is failing terribly at. And this MD vs DO issue has been prevalent forever; it has come into limelight right now only because of Trumps doctor. I feel that this reality check and clarification was necessary that DOs and MDs are equally qualified. Who better person than Doctor Mike himself? :)
I love how passionately he's talking about his job. You can clearly see, that to him it's not only a job but a mission. And I don't care that he's not a M.D., the more important think is, that the doctor works thouroughly and is trustworthy.
M.D. is equal to DO. Some MDs are dumber than some D.O.s. Some M.D. are smarter than some D.O. This is a dumb debate. They are both equally qualified to treat people and perform surgeries, dispense medication, etc The only difference is their philosophy about disease?
What a freaking role model you are Dr. Mike. I’m a first year DO student and couldn’t be happier that you are at the public forefront to represent DOs!!
The thing he said about CNN and FOX News seeming like they are reporting on two different countries is so spot on. I had never watched FOX news until I got curious after last week's presidential debate. The difference in the way each network (ABC, CNN, and FOX) viewed and presented the outcome of the debate blew my mind!!
So different networks will have very different opinions, and opinion columns or pieces are extremely biased. Traditional news outlets though also state facts, report on factual things. Often the facts that will be highlighted will be chosen because it aligns with a certain political line (for example, giving data on the percentage of Black people in prison vs giving data on the percentage of Black people being randomly stopped and searched). But the facts that are given have typically been checked and there's been multiple people who reviewed them. News outlets also have the duty to issue corrections when it turns out they said something false (not just an unpopular opinion but a fact that is demonstrably untrue). This oversight does not exist on places like UA-cam or blogs, or Twitter. Which is why the description of reputable UA-cam channels often contains many sources to back up the facts that they are bringing up. Viewers on UA-cam channels should make the extra effort of checking that there are reliable sources backing the facts used to build an argument. Whereas on traditional media it is more a matter of looking for other media to question the arguments or see a broader set of facts that could balance it, not checking whether the news anchor is outright making stuff up and lying.
@@tweetybird11211 And CNN/MNSBC is the literal opposite, also ridiculous. As an RN on the frontlines, this was incredibly powerful and motivating for me to watch. All healthcare heroes come together during these times, and all deserve recognition and respect. Especially from those sheltered in their homes writing nasty false claims. They are fortunate to never witness what we deal with on a daily basis. Thank you Dr. Mike! You are the voice for us healthcare heroes!
I agree. The people who want more testing and are dying on the front lines saving YOU, are as bad as people who encourage massive gatherings, no mask, misinformation, and lies. Nicely said.
True but it was really the left just ignoring the achievements made by the CDC under VP Mike Pence and President Trump. You can’t blame the two for doing something about this virus. I mean going outside in a SUV to thank his supporters was risky.

Hello, Mike. I am an MD doctor and proud to call you a fellow physician. A DO is by no means less than an MD, and anyone who thinks this way is simply stuck in a very conventional/narrow mentality and is clearly not a medical worker. No role, small or big, in the healthcare world is less than the others. Anyone who sacrifices their life, youth, health, time with their family to work in a hospital, even before there was ever a pandemic, is a noble and selfless person and is dignified and important, whether you are MD, DO, PA, nurse, radiographer, technician, janitor, receptionist or porter etc.
100% agree. Idk why people feel like they can rank others because of their title. Idc what kind of doctor you are - caring for others is an absolutely selfless thing and no one should be degraded for it. Im on my way to becoming a Pediatric DO, and I cant help but notice the pay difference compared to the job load. Money isnt everything to me, so I’m not sobbing about it, but I can’t help but feel like others are being under appreciated while putting their lives on the line.
I don't understand though. If they do the same residency and program as MDs and even do some of the same board exams, why are they not just called MDs then?
Speechless. You’re such an admirable human being Dr. Mike, I hope that one day I can achieve having even the slightest level of intelligence, patience, and heart as you do. If more people thought and behaved the way you do, then perhaps our society would be making better strides in how we grapple with this pandemic mentally, emotionally, and physically. As always YOU take care, may you be well as well as those most important to your life. Love brother.
Dr. Mike: stating facts, being passionate, being a decent human being ( regardless of who he is helping ), and standing up for what is right. This is why I love your content.
His rants don't have any sway towards left or right..he seems like a real human who also wants to be a good doctor but has a sense of being human 😂 instead of treating us as machines..
As an MD resident who works with tons of DO fellow residents, attendings and mentors, the discrimination against DO's was something that never even occurred to me. They are 100% as qualified as the rest of us and everyone in medicine knows this. Your commentary on how we as healthcare providers (MDs, DOs, PAs, NPs, RNs, PharmDs, RTs and so many more) are all working side by side with extreme risks during this literal pandemic is spot on.
I think the problem is that most doctors in the country are MDs, so people are unfamiliar with DOs and think they didn't go to med school or are otherwise less qualified. It's always ignorance that's at the heart of the problem.
I remember when Reagan was shot in 1980. When the doctors wheeled him on a gurney into the O.R., Regan asked the doctor (jokingly), "are you republican or democrat?" The surgeon chucked and replied, "today, Mr. President, we're all republicans." Different time.
Period!!!! Professionals need to remain professional, the division of our country is disgusting currently. People unfriending friends and family over being on the left or right! People of professional businesses should keep their political opinions to themselves during a time of crisis.

A DO saved me from losing function in my leg. How dare these people say DO are not doctors. Thank you to all the DOs all the MDs and Nurses, cleaning staff, IT, admin staff all the hospital workers for everything you do.
I think it is easy to misunderstand DO and MD. In the US they are basicly the same, but in a lot of other places osteapaths are just a fancy massage therapist that have little to no medical training, and are bunched together with other branches of alternative medicine. I think its weird that DOs in america don't get MD because that would make it less confusing for people seeing as they have the exact same training and can give the same treatments as US MDs.
@@magnus6024 Yep, that's a point, in most other countries osteopaths are not considered physicians. The US is one of a few places where osteopaths have to go through the same medical training as MDs. But it's also important to point out that these journalists are mostly American. It's understandable to make a mistake if you are a foreign journalist from a country where this distinction between DOs and MDs exists, but they are American and should know better.
In Europe DO are almost always considered a "natural solution" that isn't too far from omeopathy. I would agree with all the tweets if I didn't know that in the US it's a lot different.
In Germany we have... Idk how it's properly translated, but my lexicon suggests alternative practitioner? It's like a whole job here and even tho many people consider them as an alternative to doctors all they have to do, to be allowed to practition is: to be older than I think 25, having the lowest grade of school graduation (we have a threefold school system here🤦♀️), no criminal record + they need to take a test that basically consists of "if they seem very ill please send them to the real doctor"...

In wars, it was soldiers that fought, and were treated like heroes. In this pandemic, the doctors (and all healthcare workers) are those in the front line, and should be treated like such!
@@dubious6718 you do understand a nurse is also a medical worker right? We want all of them to be treated like heros everyone whose involved in this deserves the best treatment with they're efforts
Although I see your comment comes from a good place, I wanna point out that this analogy fails greatly in multiple places. Soldiers aren't and were never treated like heroes, countless veterans end up in debt, on the street with severe cases of PTSD and aren't getting the help they deserve for putting their lives at stake. A pat on the shoulder just doesn't do it. The ones profiting from war and being treated like heroes are the people in high places, people who sit on their comfy office chairs and send out soldiers as if they were emotionless chess pieces. The working class, be it in minimum wage jobs, medical field or military, are always the ones paying the price for big people's decisions and it's truly sickening to watch.
My first GP was a DO and I wish I could still see him (he retired). We had a great relationship and one of my favorite things about him was that he treated the whole body and wasn’t quick to throw medications at a problem.
Thank you Dr. Mike for speaking on behalf of all Osteopathic Physicians our there. I’m a first year DO student myself, and it’s really hurtful when people view DOs as inferior or incompetent. I’m working my butt off learning the exact same material, practicing the same clinical skills, preparing for board exams just like MDs, because I aspire to become a great physician that can connect with my patients and provide the best care for them in any situation I will face. You continue to be an inspiration for me throughout my medical education! Thank you!
I've been treated by a few DOs in my lifetime, including the psychiatrist who has been treating both my son and me for a decade. I have never seen any difference between DOs and MDs. I trust and respect them both, and appreciate their care.
Hello, I'm a bit confused about the difference between a DO and an MD, cause in my country we only consider MDs as physicians so DO is quite a new concept to me. I read that osteopaths do not use medication, how would a DO thus treat a viral infection such as Covid if not with medication?
Apalala, no worries. For the most part, the difference between DO and MD is minimal. In short, the first main difference is the “mindset.” DOs will tend to have a more holistic approach, where the body is viewed as a whole, comprehensive unit with many different parts that are all interconnected. Because of this mindset, DOs will try to treat patients in a way that encompasses many different aspects of the body/health. The second difference is osteopathy teaches that the body has an innate self-healing ability, and thus, DOs are taught to first try to help promote the body’s own ability to heal through Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Of course, depending on the patient/situation/etc, DOs will still employ the use of medication and any other forms of standard medical treatments in order to best help a patient. That is a common misconception, but yes, DOs are licensed to and do indeed prescribe medications just like MDs. Other than that, DO and MD are pretty much identical. Both have the exact same basic 4-year curriculum (anatomy, physiology, immunology, pathology, pharmacology, clinical skills and techniques, etc), both have the same experience in research and in clinical settings, and both have the same residency and career opportunities (Family practice, Emergency Medicine, surgery, etc). In regards to your Covid question, since I am only a first year DO student, I myself do not have enough experience to know how a physician (DO or MD) would treat a patient with Covid. But I can say this: in any situation, both a DO and MD physician will do everything they can to provide the best treatment possible to any and every patient. Lol. I know this was a lengthy explanation, but if you managed to read all the way to here, I hope that helped you understand Osteopathic Medicine a little bit better! Have a wonderful day! =)
@@matthewbeland8443 Thank you for your thorough answer, that helped clear it up! I misunderstood that DOs do osteopathy exclusively, but it makes more sense that they do it additionally.

He probably should have said out front that he has a OD degree, oh, he says right at the end. That said, the merger of MD and OD training has rubbed off the flakey mystical aspects in the origins of Osteopathy so that OD's now are just doctors with some extra training that is valuable when skeletal-muscular problems are the actual cause of problems. This contrasts with homeopathy which is still snake oil and nothing more.

I just discovered your channel tonight. Fell into the YT hole that you opened. This video here.......I am astounded with your insightful thoughts and forthright demeanor in disseminating information. Everyone should watch this. Take it in. Be open to accepting what you share. Then watch it again. Well done, Dr. Thank you for this.
Dr. Mike turned down TV interview opportunities because he didn't know enough while other medical experts just jump right onto it. He just keeps earning my respect more and more!
When Trump was diagnosed with COVID, my family and I just prayed that his diagnosis would open his eyes to how serious this illness is. My stepmom is in health care and she has watched so many people die because of COVID. My uncle was in the hospital for 8 weeks and almost died because of COVID and all the complications that came along with it. A few days after Trump announced his and his wife's diagnosis, my husband and I tested positive for COVID as well. My husband had a coworker who came to work KNOWING they had COVID. We got lucky though. Our cases have been minor, mine more so than my husband's. My husband physically could not get out of bed for 3 days because of it. Our daughter tested negative so she went to my parent's house while my husband and I have been isolating. We video chat her but I have cried every single day since because I can't hold my little girl for 2 weeks. She's aware of the virus but still doesn't understand why she can't be with us. My husband obviously is not able to work and so now we are unable to pay rent at the end of the month. COVID is devastating in so many ways and people need to stop treating it like it's a fucking joke because it's not.
@Inconceivable Disputes did I say I was living in fear? No. I pointed out that it affects people differently because people DO die from it so it should be taken seriously and precautions should be taken to try and prevent MORE deaths.
It's sad seeing him so personally offended by some of those tweets since his so caring and passionate about healthcare. I had no idea what a DO was until I started watching this channel!
This quote actually pissed me off. I don’t agree with what that person was saying. However I also feel like this comment is also diminishing the work that is done by real journalist. Journalist also risks their lives to break major stories, journalists also make major contributions to society. Just as people are misinformed about the medical field there is tons of misinformation about the field of journalism especially in today’s work where trump acts as though all media is the enemy.
I'm so proud of you for turning down interviews simply because you didn't have enough information yet and you wanted to make sure you were correct. Thank you for being so humble and so caring. I'm so happy you didn't grab that 5 Mins of fame
Just an FYI, the "They're not sending their best" remark from Ryan Lizza that Dr. Mike said that about is a reference to one of Trump's remarks at a rally in 2015 when he stated "When Mexico sends its people [to the US], they're not sending their best." It does sound terrible but it's not as malicious as it seems ua-cam.com/video/Jaz1J0s-cL4/v-deo.html
@@theKRB93 I picked that up as well. I dislike Trump too but to use Trump's own discriminatory language to discriminate against physicians for having different letters next to their name is unbelievably hypocritical.
People always show their ugly side when the situation is bad. Even while they say such vulgar things, let’s follow Dr. Mike’s example and fight the hate and fear with compassion and logic.
Wow I never comment on UA-cam. I know I am just a drop in the sea of comments. I just wanted to thank you for what you do everyday! You try your best to give everyday people the best and up to date information. You treat us with same compassion as your patients, because you truly care. Thank you for giving us your best Dr. Mike.
As a young German MD here: When the hell get the Western World to the point where people (no matter which side of the political spectrum) with pre-existing conditions are just considered disposable. I hear this argument made by some German politicians and the epitome was and still is President Trump's "do not let it dominate your life" video. I am deeply appalled how we ended up here and sometimes feel like an utter alien trying to do my very best to help a doomed civilization. No real social contacts for over 8 months and then being dumped on continously from different angles (politicians, media, friends, ...) just hurts and I can feel the same in his voice watching his video. To you Mike a very heartfelt virtual hug and we can go through this together!
To all the doctors including you A C thank you for being there :). I hope that one day we can come to our senses and realize that we are being really just stupid in ways and we need to keep our proprieties in check.
I don't know if it's wishful thinking but I happen to think that when someone doesn't have something to say they shout blame at the closest person, maybe the sensible voices are there and are just being drown out? idk...I hope you stay happy and healthy!
Thank you for pointing out that those of us with pre-existing conditions are not disposable, and it is so insensitive and reckless when people say only (insert number) died. All human life is precious and has high value. With what we know about viruses, these numbers, over one million dead worldwide and over thirty-five million infections, this should not have happened. This not 1918 when people and governments were less knowledgeable about the spread of these deadly pestilences.
@@ashleyjessen4229 Coming from a point of view of a compromised immune system and pre-existing conditions and multiple family members with them, not everyone believes in risky behavior for the sake of your own gratification. It varies from person to person, but personally it's not worth the risk. There's a difference between living smart and living wrecklessly. I do not agree that there's a simple solution (like taking care of yourself) to surviving chronic health issues. There certainly is a degree of mindset required to live with chronic health issues, but that's not the bottom line. Much of the time, if you have pre-existing conditions that rule your life, it's not by choice. So much of our society and arguments in COVID-19 have been about continuing to do what we want simply because we want to and it's our right, and if someone else feels it's not safe for them or their loved ones to do so, they are "babies" and "expendable". How about just have some empathy in your heart for those who know they will do what they have to in order to continue to be with those they love (i.e. a fricking simple thing like order groceries online or wear a mask)?
"The news use to tell you that something happened, then you had to decide how you felt about it. Now the news tells you how to feel about something and you have to decide if it even happened."
I love how people are trying to go up against Dr. Mike and his fellow cohorts. Less than 1% of people become doctors and less than 7% of students are admitted to medical school regardless if it is allopathic or osteopathic. These people are doctors for a reason. They studied hard as hell, worked hard as hell, stayed up for countless hours, seen humanity in its rawest forms, and people are going to try and discount all of this by looking at the letters after their last name...
"When did the disagreement become this bad, that you're willing to allow bystanders to get hurt in this process?" This is it, this is the quote. It's wild to me how politically charged absolutely everything has become, even things like wearing a mask to help keep others safe. When did we lose so much empathy for the people around us?
Where’s the sympathy for those who lost jobs that may never return because of our overreaction to a rather mundane virus with a high survival rate for those of working age?
People really need to start paying more attention to medical professionals rather than news outlets..... Many lives could've been saved if it were not for tabloid medicine gaining glaring prominence😢
Aishwarya S.B. Would have probably been worse when trump said to injected disinfectant people actually bought it and there were higher rates of purchase in those and more people became sick lol
Do you mean medical professionals, like the ones that went on talk shows, with no idea what they were talking about? Or the crazy ones that think that Demon sperm is corrupting America? Maybe listen to the Sane ones, that don't take part in media, whose opinion no one knows? If only there was a trusted, official, Medical organization (that the media believes is manipulated by china), we could listen to them? Maybe an official that works with the White House, who lies to the public, to prevent a panic, we could trust them right?
all politicians globally need to just let doctors and scientists lead the way they keep interfering we shouldn't be treated by the whim of how good a politician is. We have the best scientists and doctors in the world but for what? No one listens to them
@@darkopz, Trump needs to do better! If he thinks covid is something to joke about, while he's giving a lecture of how great he is, to a rally of crowded people, knowingly and intentionally making any stupid, ignorant 'joke' about it is an example of how out of touch Trump really is. He'd rather rally than lead, like an immature rock star. Correct me if I'm wrong.

When Dr. Mike is wearing a tie you just know there's going to be a "how dare you"
I can honestly say as a former science journalist, it's not that they are trying to mislead - it's because they are mobile examples of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Media doesnt just do misinformation anymore they spread disinformation
yep
Pissed off, and righteously so. Otherwise, Dr. Mike is going to be out of a job shilling for the frauds running this sh*t show.

@@Seek1878 As a youtuber I get comments like yours all the time. It is impossible to think of every single point and issue that one could possibly think up and answer that, nor would people want to sit through a video that does that. I think Mike did a great job. Dr. Mike needs to stop caring so much about people and only care about the smart people. Because the smart people are going to be the True People who will survive this Pandemic in the end.

@@rafaelhernandez6525 As a general rule, if someone is finding success in politics, they are not there to help other people.
I often get labeled as 'alt right' because i put people before politics, and often times, that directly conflicts with left leaning view points.

Paid or not doesn’t matter, his own president proves that. He’s still putting his popularity and tv appearances below maintaining integrity on his priority list.
Im not smart, but I listen to people who are smarter than me. Doctors are one of them.
I love how passionately he's talking about his job. You can clearly see, that to him it's not only a job but a mission. And I don't care that he's not a M.D., the more important think is, that the doctor works thouroughly and is trustworthy.
He is an MD
I'm pretty sure Dr. Mike is an MD
He’s a DO specializing in family medicine. He’s spoken about it in prior videos, and it’s easy enough to google
M.D. is equal to DO. Some MDs are dumber than some D.O.s. Some M.D. are smarter than some D.O.
This is a dumb debate. They are both equally qualified to treat people and perform surgeries, dispense medication, etc The only difference is their philosophy about disease?
Mrs. Lively he is a D.O
What a freaking role model you are Dr. Mike. I’m a first year DO student and couldn’t be happier that you are at the public forefront to represent DOs!!
Honestly heavily considering going into a DO program
The thing he said about CNN and FOX News seeming like they are reporting on two different countries is so spot on. I had never watched FOX news until I got curious after last week's presidential debate. The difference in the way each network (ABC, CNN, and FOX) viewed and presented the outcome of the debate blew my mind!!
_What can be done about it? Especially in November, when we have the most influence as common folk?_
Fox News is like Trumps personal channel. It’s ridiculous!
@@tweetybird11211 And CNN/MNSBC is the literal opposite, also ridiculous.

Thats what I tell new students, its not just the degree, its experience that makes a good Doctor Great.
I have a sister who is a D.O. and I know that she worked her butt off for her degree. To say that she's less of a doctor is insane!!
I think the problem is that most doctors in the country are MDs, so people are unfamiliar with DOs and think they didn't go to med school or are otherwise less qualified. It's always ignorance that's at the heart of the problem.

Awesome! I had better results with my DO in the military when I injured my back.
There is nothing I love more then someone that doesn't pick sides they pick the truth instead. You are very appreciated.

@@crashfan11 they said nurses too because the original comment only spoke about doctors being the neroes
MSTie thank you for your kind words. I myself hope to one day become someone who can earn the trust and respect of my patients as well. =)
@@matthewbeland8443 Thank you for your thorough answer, that helped clear it up! I misunderstood that DOs do osteopathy exclusively, but it makes more sense that they do it additionally.

Honestly that is very possible in my opinion that is probably happening.
Now the news tells you how to feel about something and you have to decide if it even happened."
soo true 😢
That was never true. Partisanry has been apart of news since its inception.
This, this so much!
Almost. They drop a lot of "both sides"-isms to make some topics appear moot when they are not.
GREAT comment; so accurate! Sigh
Doctor Mike, this is the best commentary I have heard about why you as a doctor would not comment on the news. Kudos.
It really is upsetting to see adults act like this at a time like this.
I agree
It's a bit like that looking at Psy.D. and Ph.D. distinctions.
@@mademoisellemawma2524 haha, 'adults'. Good joke.

"When did the disagreement become this bad, that you're willing to allow bystanders to get hurt in this process?"
This is it, this is the quote.

@@bhimsinghsherry you know that is not what he said, right? Fake news
I've never seen Dr. Mike so passionate. "Stay alert, not anxious."
