  • The Bee Gees on Parkinson, 2001. They sang Jive Talkin' before the interview and This Is Where I Came In after. At the end of the show they sang and dedicated How Deep Is Your Love to Parky's other guest for the evening, Sir John Mills.
Due to problems with copyright, I've removed all of the songs.
I hope you enjoy this rapid-fire interview; I loved it!

I will always love the BeeGees!!! I grew up listening to them. I understand their frustration over being treated so badly by the media's being critical of their music and labeling them as only disco producing artists. They were so much more!!! They were (Barry still is) brilliantly talented songwriters and producers. They were also handsome and remarkable men, husbands and fathers. They gave us songs that will last forever. I love their beautiful sense of humor and their laughter is so delightful. I love watching their interviews and getting to know them. The BeeGees will live on through their music and generations to come will be blessed by it. My favorite song is "Alone." It touches my soul. ❤❤❤

Yes. They were such an incredible group. I grew up with these guys. One of my favorite groups of all time. Boy, do i miss Maurice and Robin Gibb. I'm sure Barry has gone through a lot of pain due to so much loss over his brothers. I'm glad he has God to help him. The 70's and 80's were the best times to grow up. I wish i could return to that time period. So much more normal than now. 🎤🎸🎶🎹 🙏✝️🕊

Barry has the greatest giggle. I am truly sorry that Mo and Robin are gone so soon. Since their passing so much information and history has come out about the BeeGees, I would have liked to have known all this sooner, as many people would. It enhances their legacy. The Bee Gees were the best band that this planet has ever seen! I'm waiting for the day they get the recognition and respect they deserve. They will as soon as people judge music by listening and not by the image of the performer. But everyone knows what their image among people of my age (18) and in America is: Bee Gees = Ah ah ah ah Stayin' Alive --> uncool --> sucks.
Being realistic I'm afraid that I'll be waiting for this day of rehabilitation forever…

Great interview, it shows just what a great sense of humour the three of them had
between them. They really loved the British humour, having spent their early years
in the UK. One particular sketch by the late Kenny Everrett, in which he mimicks
them, they found to be hilarious. Sadly, they spoke of their last album "This is where
I came in" but, Ironically lost Maurice just a year or so later, and Robin around
eight years after that. So I guess that album reprised their status as "The Bee-Gees"
However, to fans like me, Their music will live on forever. r.i.p. Maurice, Robin and
    younger brother Andy.

+oldfart4751 Yes, they were British born, but moved away from the UKat a very young age, and grew up in Australia. But, I guess, a little of theBritish humour went with them. And, having British parents, they all spokewith a British accent. Even Andy, who was just a baby when they left theUK to start a new life in Oz.

Thanks for this. It was a fantastic evening as part of the audience. Tickets were difficult to get as Parky was in demand. We didn't know who was on, so to find the BGs and Sir John Mills (please upload that as well) we knew we were in for a good evening, and as it turned out the last BGs interview on the Beeb (I think). The joke about walking off was because the BGs has been on Clive Anderson and hadn't liked Clive's style of putting his guests down. (Worth a look-you can judge then how well Parky gets the most from his guests. And he's attentive to how his guests respond -for example see it at --17:36- whereas Clive just drove the nails in further). There was a very warm atmosphere in the studio that evening. The BGs thanked us at the end too. With their final song, they started it three times because it wasn't happening correctly for them. We were happy for them to get it right, and again they thanked us for being so appreciative. With the Sir John Mills interview, all I can remember is his anecdote about his good friend Eric Sykes (might have been from somewhere else) where they were to meet in a restaurant (?). They both, being very old, had 'helps' who had seen the others from across the room, and pointed both their charges at each other, only for both Eric and John to completely miss each other on the way and end up with each other's 'helps' as their eye-sights were not as good as in younger years!

Barry is right, media are always there sort of Great Brother wanting to decide the trends, wanting to choose for everybody, wanting to influence .. let's be aware of that, as today we should know better but still so many people just drink any mainstream story if it comes from the big TV, big magazine, THEN it's true. ..

Never understood the disco backlash....I grew up in the 70s with the avalanche of great music of all genres. My mom played many country artists of that day, dad played Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass. I'd heard 60s BeeGees songs on the radio & loved them just as I loved their discoesque sound--disco is just dance 🎵. But simultaneously, I'm listening to J5 (my first concert), Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye....and introduced to Led Zeppelin from hearing my older neighbor blast it every day all summer...what was wrong with liking Rock & disco? I still don't get it
