What it do Dream Team!? It's ya boy D.Neal back with another reaction video! In this video you guys know we had to start it off with a new artist dance and just hearing this you can tell that Kenny Rogers story telling is great! Guys they thought that because he always turned the cheek and walked away they could just keep pushing his buttons and they could because he wanted to respect his dads advice. But once they hurt someone he loved, he let loose on them and I don't expect anyone else would've done differently!I loved this from beginning to end! If you guys have a favorite song or favorite artist that you would like to hear me react to please don't hesitate to drop it down in the comment section below!
I do NOT own the copyrights to this music so please go and check out the original video in the link below!

My dad taught me this. " Son, don't ever start a fight. If at all possible, walk away from a fight. If they call you a coward, let them. It's just words. But if they put you in a situation where you have no choice but to fight, and that includes them attacking someone you love, you do AND use whatever it takes to be the only one able to walk away at the end of the fight."
Words I have lived by for the last 40 years. Not fighting doesn't mean you are a coward. It simply means you have more important things to do with your time. Like loving your family.
similar to what I was taught, "never start the fight, and if you can't walk away, END IT"
@@scottstevens856 you got it. Just like my dad. You just said it in fewer words.
"But you could have heard a pin drop, when Tommy stopped and locked the door." Done in spoken word not sung gets me every time. Such amazing story telling.
This line reminds of the “now youse’ can’t leave” line from A Bronx Tale.
Don't know about you, but I swear, I can hear a door being locked! lol
This was fun!
I love for the moment a reactor realizes what happened to Becky and what is about to happen.
Your reaction to the the part about “they took turns at Becky” was so genuine, like wait what 😳??? Keep em coming young man.
That double-take seems to be the response of many people who react to this song.
There's a big difference between fighting for your pride and fighting for your woman.
Whats that old saying "beware the wrath of the quiet man" or something like that.
That's a saying because it's true.
"Beware the fury of a patient man "
It's always the quiet ones you have to watch!
"Wise men know to fear three things: The sea in a storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle soul."
Great reaction. You actually listened to the song. Thank you.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent reaction Neal
Great news!
We have selected 30-60 seconds of this reaction to highlight in our new upcoming Kenny Rogers documentary (includes full credit and link back to this reaction & your awesome channel)
Keep up the great work my friend 👍🏻
Kindest regards

What I love is the universal message..All our men know at times you have to fight..No matter what culture and society tells you, at times you must fight...and women need our men to fight...
"Took Turns at Becky"... I listened to this song for years and never realized the "Full extent" of what that line meant... until it finally clicked...
Tim Jansen - so how did it affect you when it did? I mean what went through your mind in that moment? Your comment got me curious.
@@IChooseJesus9091 IDK that it "Affected me"... it was just one of those "wait what?" moments that made me think what took me so long to get it?
- I assume Neal here is either 100% hearing this for the first time or definitely less than five, and it clicks for him in like five seconds... pretty sure it took me 10-20 YEARS and I know I saw the TV Movie at least once (so at best my excuse is the movie 'sugar coated it' and distorted/protected my interpretations )
@@TJ52359 + So when it hit you, it must have been like a revelation.
Thanks for indulging me with a response.
I guess that was the reason for part of my curiosity. Because I always got it, & I never saw the movie. And it took you decades. So it created a very delayed reaction.
Thank you!!! Most reactors miss that 1 section of "sometimes you've gotta fight WHEN you're a man" it's my favourite line in the whole song. It proves Tommy learned from his father's mistakes, that you don't have to fight to be a man but, there are times when the fight can't be avoided or it's worth it.
Try the Gambler by Kenny Rogers
Kenny has another great song with a good story called "The Greatest".
I absolutely love that song!! It always reminds me of my son when he was about 7. Such a great ending. 🙂
YES!!! It’s one of his newer songs
A lot of people miss the central theme of that song but you got it right off the bat. "You don't have to fight to be a man but sometimes you have to fight when you're a man."
React to Believe by Brooks & Dunn, the video. Another great story.
I’ve always thought it was pretty obvious. Interesting
He's the first one, that I listen, that got that part.
Your reaction was straight gold!!!!
That was one of the BEST reactions I've seen.
I loved how your demeanor changed when it turned serious.
Now. I want to see how you react to LOLA by THE KINKS🤣
A Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash has a good story like this one.
I've always thought that the 2 songs that define humanity.
A boy named Sue. Coward of the county.
When to stop fighting, and when to start.
Jason Young For sure. A deeper meaning to both songs if you really think about it.
Hahhaa. I was just about request this one myself.
I love watching the look on people's faces when this song takes a HARD right turn and they come to terms with what just happened in the story.
Btw...you LISTEN...and your skills show critical thinking, caring, and insight. ❤❤❤
Best reaction ever!!!!!!!
the moment he stopped vibin you know its that part of the song
Kenny Rogers was the best vocal story teller. Over 63 yr career. Watch his amazing biography. He was raised in poverty. Became a huge mega star with The Gambler Album & song. A huge cross over artist Country, Pop, R & B, psychodelic, gospel music. He was loved by everyone Globally. He was a really good man. He helped organize Feed Africa We Are The World song & huge talent session event fundraiser with major talents of the 80's. His songs had weekly TV movies. He was in a variety of bands. He even had his own tv show.
Perfect.
Check out the movie it tells you alot more than the song does The Coward of The County the movie
I love how Kenny Rogers is vague about how the Gatlin boys met their fate...
PG friendly version is they got their butts kicked and learned a valuable lesson
In my mind that's not how it happened, rated X
Kenny was a great story teller
More Kenny! Lucille, Ruby, and Reuben James!
Oh God. I forgot all about Reuben James! Amazing song and story
I had this 45 when I was a little girl, loved this song, played that 45 out on my little red record player.
OMG, I've spent the last hour, watching your reactions. They are great. Had to tell you on this song. I love how you try to work out the meaning of the songs, and when you don't quite have it right yet, I'm like "hold on to your hat for the next part".😁 The last song was Teddy bear, and I'm sorry but l laughed every time you got to a sad part and got that look and turned it off. Good job sir and now I've got another hour or so to keep watching your videos.
Loved this song as a young un and this is the best reaction I've seen you earn a sub as soon as you got gassed and said Tommy ain't playing!
Great song, and movie.
Beautiful song
20 years of being called a coward, but it took an attack on someone else - Becky - to make Tommy prove the county wrong, as touched upon in the first verse.
Best reaction to this song.
Don't know how I missed this one but I'm here now!! Great reaction brother!! If you haven't yet you should hear the baseball song called the greatest by Kenny!!
“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.” -- Patrick Rothfuss.
movie was made based on this song, starring Kenny Rogers, its pretty good too
Love your reactions. Great way to start my day. Thank you!
Best reaction video of this song ! 👍
RIP Kenny Rogers
They made a movie about this song. Kenny Rogers is the uncle in the movie.
Uncle and Father (Playing Twins IIRC)
Gets me when he locks the door then i get pumped !! im whooping ass with him lol
Lady is a great song by Kenny
You should watch the movie. Same name. In the barroom scene, not only does Tommy take out every one of the Gatlin boys (pretty much destroying the whole bar in the process), his uncle (played by Kenny) kicks their daddy's butt. (Their daddy was the reason they were the way they were.) It was awesome.
The Gatlin boys were actually another country group who were good friends of Kenny’s... they also gave beautiful voices... amazing harmonies... check out All the Gold in California and others
He made movies based on this song and the Gambler. And the Gambler had 2 sequels. These were t.v. movies.
Great reaction! Thank you!

Man or woman, at the end of the day someone can only take so much. And once loved ones get involved/hurt, the gloves come off.
Great stuff, yo.
