If you watched the video in reverse, it shows Chester committed suicide by jumping off the building. So, he is breaking the habit by ending his life. This video came out in 2003/04.
This is definetly about that lol wtf you’re absolutely wrong mate. This song was written by mike for Chester about him breaking his bad habits with drugs abusing and alchool
@@kruissina5571 It's not. That's a common story that circulates, but it was written before Mike met Chester. Mike had a friend dealing with drug addiction and he wrote this song about him. It does closely correlate with Chester's own drug/alcohol struggles and because of that Chester had a hard time performing it live without getting emotional.
Mike write this song for his friend and for Chester. Chester cried when he recorded this song but this song changed his life.

This song hits me deep because it reminds of my older sister who became a drug addict after many abusive relationships but she could never break the habit which is why I had to step and raise my 4 nieces

Depression is the devil that can exist in ANYONE. It's not always apparent. I certainly didn't expect Chris Cornell to commit suicide due to depression. Chester certainly didn't keep his depression a secret but I was still shocked and heartbroken about his death. With that said, this was a powerful and beautiful song. Wish the mv for this song had as much views as in the end and numb. It's a hell of a banger too.
I know what depression feels like, even my own mother never understood me at that time.
Yeah depression is pretty much a parasitic cancer for the mind..
Not a big Linkin Park fan , I always found them a bit too poppy but this song is definitely one of their best in my opinion
