REACT TO SYSTEM OF A DOWN MIND LYRICS (this song doesnt have a music video)
Try to react to falling in Reverse - watch the world burn. That's could be interesting... lots of ❤️
"Chester's voice is the sound of the human condition..." I don't think there's been a more profound and truer statement than that
This song still gives me chills. Hearing a new release with Chester singing… it hits hard in so many ways. Hearing the lyrics and knowing what happened is just heartbreaking.
It's like hearing him sing straight from heaven. I hope they'll release more songs, I didn't think I'd ever experience hearing a song of his for the first time ever again. It hurts so much, but it's also so beautiful at the same time.
That's how I felt after hearing new Nirvana after Kurt Cobain's death or new Chris Cornell after his death or really any album put out after the death of the singer, the lyric hit completely differently.
It hit me too. Pretty heavy
Absolutely hit nail on the head. Rip chester. 😢❤
when he says, '...but I'm tired...'💔😢😢😢
The part where he says “and I’m tired” always hits. It’s so simple yet so impactful
Came to comment this. They way he says "but I'm tired"...
The way he sings it and afterwards as if he is so exhausted and tired and so unique
Of any reactor I thought she would talk about this part and she didn't even mention it.
it's like when you sob then you H - - H - - H - - inwards, then you're kinda done crying, but then comes the pain surging again, your forehead starts to clinch, you're literally tired of crying, your head's pounding, your chest aches, arms and legs heavy, you're probably sitting somewhere leaning your head on the wall or the beam on the porch, you want/hoping something to happen, ("but i'm tired") you tell your self that, and all you're left with is pain and long silence
The way he said it, he's shaking deeply..
"But i'm tired" - it broke my heart. It's impossible to listen any further without crying.
I feel your pain. I’m in the same situation. This song is so powerful and painful it breaks me every time.
i feel that brand of tired constantly. It hits so ridiculously hard.
and tired is not being sleepy but your soul or whatever being completely exhausted and unable to fill up again, if you've been there you know
Same, here. First time I heard it I just broke down.
This song is 20 years old. It was one song from being added to the Meteora album. They shelved it because they already had Numb and it was a kinda similar. Since it it Meteors 20th anniversary they decided to release Lost. It was already mixed and ready to go. They didn't change or add anything. Mike talks about it in an interview. It was really interesting. That's how relevant their music is. Just as good today as 20 years ago. Miss you Chester.
P.S. Please react to- Crawling-One more light live. Its raw and stripped completely down. It's beautiful. He gets so close to his fans. It was also one of his last performances.
Yes and yes to your suggestion!
I also second your suggestion. I also highly recommend his performance of One More Light for Chris Cornell. That was just heartbreaking.
She needs to do any version of Crawling, they are all great but it'd be a real disservice for her to miss out on such an amazing song. I'd say Crawling live in Texas is probably my favorite LP song/version ever, In the End live in Texas a close second. Listened to that CD hundreds of times on 5 hour drives to see relatives in the hospital.
@Congratulations, It's a....... Squid she will 100% cry listening to one more light.
Please, could you leave here the link of Mike’s interview?
Not only is this recorded before Chesters death, it was over a decade prior, and still it seems to describe exactly what he felt like in the end. So tragic.
The song is actually over 20 years old, and was meant to be on Meteora. If they had gone for thirteen songs instead of twelve like they originally planned, the song would have made the cut. But since they went for twelve, they cancelled this song because they though it was a bit to similar to Numb.
She really clung onto that idea that it may be an ai recreation lol why would that be a first reaction 🤣
@@izanagi_vii I think because LP used AI for the graphics and AI has been the hot topic as of late (especially in the arts), so I can see how someone who doesn't follow them to think that it was a possibility. Thats just my take tho, I've been an LP fan, so I knew it was a 20 yr anniversary release haha
@@mikeyserrano9748 I totally get it but imo it’s disrespectful to his legacy to create new music through him with an ai and I don’t think his band mates would do him like that. I think it’s disrespectful to mike and the rest of lp to think they’d tarnish Chester like that. That was my issue with her thoughts on it.
I's say it's quite disrespectful to the band to insist on the AI comments. The video is AI, and the song isn't. End of story. I would think there are quite a few songs that didn't make the cut and people haven't heard.
Chester is one I'll never get over , this band was the closest thing to therapy as a depressed kid in a world that doesn't believe in mental health. R.I.P Chester Bennington.
Legend
Same. Numb helped me deal with my father. Saw them live in 01, and this song broke my heart.
But we carry on for those who couldn't.
I know, I feel ya.
Same. Hang in there, friend.
I love to sing along to Chester Bennington
For me this song is kind of a sister to "Breaking the habit", and not just because of the animation but the way Chester sings softer. When I heard the tune I got goosebumps because I could tell right away that it belonged in Meteora. A real amazing gift from LP in 2023.
Well, if you look at how LP produced their music, it's clear why their albums tended to have such a cohesive quality to them. The track came first, and then the lyrics. This is why if you listen to the anniversary album you have all these songs, some with and without vocals, that sound like they would be able to fit on Meteora. I think they chose the right songs for the original release, but my goodness I'm glad they held on to the rest of the material and saw fit to release mixed and mastered versions of Lost and Fighting Myself.
I think Hybrid Theory is their most iconic and "hits" filled album (even though obviously they had hits all over, especially these first 2) it's their most nostalgicly recognisable but I'd argue Meteora is their best album in terms of writing, the vulnerability in Chester's voice, complexity in their soundscapes and song structure. It was like LP were a depressed but talented teenager but Meteora was a contemplative adult actively trying to come to terms with the fact that they once were that teenager (I really hope that metaphor makes sense) and I don't take anything away from Hybrid Theory but they really expanded on it with Meteora.
I heard somewhere that for their album they had to choose it was either this song or the song Numb because they were similar
Fact that she calls it futuristic while this song was intended for the Meteora album in 2003 but cut at the last moment... It shows just how ahead of their time Linkin Park was. While for me; listening to this song for the first time catapulted me back into the 00's. It was like a time capsule in a song. It was such an experience. This song hit me right in the feels. I was sobbing on the sidewalk listening to this song for the first time while on my way to work.
Absolutly, it felt wrong to listen to the Song without Winamp or loading it from Napster or later Limewire^^. In 2017 Mike Shinoda said that a Song like Numb ( for which this one did not get on Meteora because the vibe is so simular) wouldnt work nowadays but was perferkt for the Time. Well he was wrong OR more likely , Chesters Story made this Song at this timing such a wonderful thing for every LP fan.
@@MrTheRoqua Yeah it was track 13 on Meteora but sounded to similar to Numb as a radio freindly song so was left off.
They were really ahead of their time. If this still sounds futuristic, then they were even more ahead of their time than people guessed.
It made me incredibly nostalgic, but at the same time it really felt like it could have easily been a song from A Thousand Suns or Living Things. It's insane how diverse their sound was.
@@MandatoryFruit spot on. Wouldn't sound out of place on One More Light either tbf
This song is like losing a friend, but he appears in your dreams after a while.
I keep expecting Chester to pop up in interviews, for Mike to say “yeah we thought he was gone and then he just walked in the room” and everything picks up from where it left off. Like it’s still hard to comprehend that he isn’t here.
I lost my mom and she came to me in my dream and as we talked I was looking around and Chester was there and he came over and said hello and gave me a kiss on my cheek.
@@dinahdunlap5937 I'm sorry.
When it came to Chester, he was someone who helped me feel less alone through his lyrics that expressed exactly what I had felt all these years.
But in response to your comment, I had those same emotions when I would see my mother and/or my grandfathers in a dream.
If you can find it, “My December” is another wonderful song that is just wonderfully hypnotic, Chester’s voice is just liquid velvet.
This song showed a very good voice from Chester more calm
This is my December, this my time of the year
Yes! This is my favorite Linkin Park song.
"My December" is one of my favorites too!
Go for the Reanimation version. Superior to the original, in my opinion :)
I remember hearing this song for the first time without any context and instantly realizing it was from the Meteora era. The lyrics: "I'm trapped in yesterday" where no new memories Of Chester can be produced, all we have is the memories of him "where the pain is all I know".
This song eerily feels like its purpose was to be only released postmortem. "Lost" would have been in the background if it were placed on Meteora, possibly overlooked by many and a track that got many skips. But fast forward to today and it's unbelievable how much it plays in the full circle. Music has a funny way of making sense when nothing else does.
I was confused .... I feel like I have heard this song many times over? Is that just because if you grew up listening to Linkin Park you just know what the lyric is going to be ..... Or have I heard this song before....or have I heard certain lyrics that repeat in their songs over the last 20 years?
So confused because .... It feels like I know this song already...
Beautiful comment man
The band said it was left on the cutting room floor from Meteora cause the vibe of the song was too close to Numb.
I just discovered this song a few minutes ago and it is easily my new favorite from their catalog and I would have listened a ton to this song. I had Hybrid Theory when it came out but never had Meteora or any subsequent albums and have likely not heard all they put out after H.T. that didn't make the radio. I'm definitely going to UA-cam their other albums and find the songs I have not heard.
@@triciaduby9372very close to Numb. I think that’s what you’re hearing. 🥰
For being recorded in 2003 and very much carrying the same feel as the rest of Meteora, it’s kind of crazy how modern this song manages to sound. Linkin Park’s songwriting is timeless.
They did re-engineer it. That might have be why is sounds so up-to-date, even though the production is 20 years old.
2002 actually it was recorded with the rest of meteora
@@whatiwasgoingtosay Mike shinoda stated in a podcast that the song wasn't altered in any way
Most importantly it is skillfull and professional!
Linkin Park is therapy for an entire generation. If I had to pick any song to truly showcase Chester's vocals I'd go with The messenger. Followed by breaking the habit and castles of glass. If you want to hear Mike's vocals I'd recommend The catalyst and bleed it out.
This will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I felt The Messenger needed some softer vocals instead of the constant distortion/scream. I love the song but wish it had been done a little different. I felt so much harsh sound all the way through took away the power of it from the song. That's just me though. 😊
@NayNay I think the songs heavy and shadow of the day do good at showing off chesters softer vocals
I still have to listen to the whole "A Thousand Suns" album to listen to the Messenger, which means I have to do it alone and dedicate an afternoon, because I always end it in tears.
If you want to hear Mike actually sing check out "No Roads Lef".
His whole discography was a suicide note.
The way "...but I'm tired" sounds at 9:57 is just heartbreaking. Always gets to me. There's just so much pain and sadness in the delivery of that line...
more like "unproduced" and "raw" but youre definitely right
To me Chester is my(I'm 39) generations Kurt Cobain. Dude was the voice for an entire generation and segment of kids who have asked for help and screamed for it and nobody listened because the outside looked good. RIP to a legend lost too soon.
Spot on. I can’t even count how many hundreds of times I listened to Hybrid Theory and Meteora in high school/college.
Give "one more light" a listen, it breaks my heart so much, it hits so incredibly deep
oh god that one cuts like a knife
No its not
@@Nichwar19 you ever lost someone bro?
@@cr1s1s0ff41th what kinda dumb question is that
His performance in tribute to Chris was just heart wrenching. I forget if it was Mike who said it, but Chester could barely get through rehearsal because he was such a mess.
One thing to note is that Mike Shinoda is on backing vocals especially during the "I tried to keep this pain inside...." Part. Mike is a musical genius and as much as I love Chester I believe Mike deserves credit for his excellent vocal work as well.
I absolutely love Chester and his voice and choices, too, but you are right, no one can deny Mike's genious.
I feel like people overlook Mike too much, his talent is just as impressive as chester's was and it always brings me back to Mike's song "about you" on his post traumatic album
Sometimes I think that he was too good at harmonising with Chester so people missed his input in parts unless they were familiar with Mike's voice.
Yes it would be great to see a reaction to Mike's singing. No Roads Left would be a good one, or Little Things Give You Away as it bas Chester, Mike, and Dave singing at the end.
@@Feehlo382 omg I didnt know this and its a song I really like. You’re right, I guess we don’t really pay that much of attention. Love these facts (:
As a survivor of suicide.. I cry every time I listen to this song. It hits hard. And I'm alone these days. It's been almost 730 days since I lost my wife. I'm sorry. I'm a lump of a person and a emotional handbag
🫂
hang in there, bud.
Your never alone.
@@andrewzy yes I am. Too broke to do anything, meet anyone, I go to work, come back, change clothes do more work, maybe eat, shower, sleep, rinse repeat. This has been my life for 730 days. I used to think that I survived to care for my late wife in her greatest time of need. She's gone now. I am a ship, no sails, no rudder, and at the mercy of time. I'm in therapy, so yeah I am getting help
Thank you for every day you are on this earth
Phew. I cannot hear this song without crying. Listening to these lyrics and reflecting on how deeply he was suffering really gets to you. It's so tragic that he helped an entire generation through their pain, but couldn't work through his own. RIP Chester. You are forever missed.
This song brings tears to my eyes, just turned 31 on Feb 9th and both Hybrid Theory and Meteora were my childhood, my introduction to rock/metal. Chester knew how to cut through right to the soul, I feel emotional when listening to this song. I'm looking forward to hearing more of these unreleased songs, RIP Chester 😭🙏❤
With the only difference that I just turned 36 on Feb 5th, everything you said 100%. I miss him so much, and it hurts me to know how much pain he was dealing with. RIP
Turned 31 last October and I feel exactly the same :(
turning 31 in june and couldn't agree more RIP
I’m 30 in June so I feel you. LP didn’t come to the UK until a year or so after the USA success. I might be wrong but either way it’s so amazing hearing this sound again
33 this year. I really regret never having really seen them live. That is also what haunts me about 'lost' - we will never get a live version of this. I really miss Chester :(
I will say, Shinoda and Chester were amazing together. Shinoda’s lyrics and Chester’s interpretation of those lyrics show an extremely deep connection and make it seem like Shinoda was in Chester’s head and what was going on in his head..
Plus their voices complemented each other.
I love Shinoda and Chester together its always amazing
As somebody who was abused by a family member growing up (Chester was abused by a close friend of his father), I think a lot of people look back after Chester's death and find it hard to separate the tragedy from the art. He had a hell of a hard time, but when Hybrid Theory and Meteora came out they weren't successful albums because of what he had been through, but his ability to connect with a whole generation of people who were lost for whatever reason. That was down to his writing and his performances on stage. I wish he could have stayed strong and still been with us today, but at least he's not suffering anymore. R.I.P. Chester ❤️
P.s. I think this song got left on the Meteora cutting room floor because it didn't fit, but it's a massive nod to the albums afterwards with the change in sound. This song wouldn't sound out of place on A Thousand Suns or One More Light. As for pitch correction, you may be right, but I believe if Chester was in the studio he wouldn't be expressing (out to in singing) and moving around as much so it would be easy to nail one track. Imagine trying to sing Breaking the habit as the 10th song of the set...no wonder he dropped pitch.
Nothing that I've said is a criticism on your reaction, just my thoughts. I miss Chester and the rest of LP as a whole and I come back to your few reactions time and time again just to see a professional breakdown on how much he f***ing rocked. Thank you Elizabeth!
That and not being able to separate the artist from the art (which you obviously can't fully do anyway because some songs ARE about his perspective) but what some either forget or don't know is that some of the emotional songs were actually written by Mike and from his own personal perspective like Numb for example which kind of ignores that that is personal to Mike. I get why people do it, they do it a lot with Nirvana after Kurt died, where they attributed lyrics to him being depressed, ignoring that a lot of the time Kurt wrote from the emotive feel of the beat a lot instead of just straight up personal perspective, which sullies the true intent behind what the music was actually trying to do.
This is the first music video that has ever made me cry, especially because of the lyrics in hindsight. Chester's death hit me harder than I expected for someone I would have never met personally. He got dealt such a bad card in life, and listening to this song (and the rest of their catalog) after his passing adds a whole new level of depth to their music.
The @zwieR.Z. Remix of One More Light will make you cry, too. 😢

"But I'm tired"... That one line overwhelmed me. Hauntingly relatable.
Reactions to this Song are fundamentally different to others. There's excitement at first with a little bit of nervousness, but while hearing people start feeling overwhelmed. There's nostalgia, pain, anger, fascination, gratefulness... this experience can make people randomly cry while smiling just within seconds.
Except Julia Nilon, she was wrecked from the very beginning.
yeah, that first "lost" hit and I teared up. Then the "i'm tired" hit me and I couldn't hold in the sob that broke out of me.
I know this is an older song that they've just released... but hindsight of the situation puts a different mindset on this song. It puts a visceral feeling into the lyrics. The mental struggle was real. And it was a fight he lost.
And yeah, the older songs have that struggle on display just as much, I think this one is different because the older ones are... familiar. comfortable. I played the old songs on repeat for years. Sometimes I am not really even hearing them, just feeling the music pour over me. Feeling the comradery of knowing I'm not alone in my pain. Feeling the nostalgia of the comfort the music gave me in hard times.
this one is new, and unknown, so people are listening more actively and intentionally.
And it doesn't have that familiar sense of comfort to it.
but it is still familiar and very much classic Linkin Park / Chester sounding.
It's beautiful. raw. emotional. and I'm glad they released it.
Hearing Chesters voice again broke me when this song released ... I miss Chester so much. He and LP helped me so much with their music and I am thankful every day that it exists. Mental health struggles are pure horror, thank you for all the empathy and kindness you brought to this reaction.
You should definitely hear "Easier to Run" one day. I think you would love it.
If you've not checked them out, I recommend "Heavy" and "One More Light".
And, yeah... Chester's music is something that hits hard. His songs, the ones that actually delve into his own struggles with mental illness, have helped me get through so many of my own difficult times in my life. I'm still alive because of him. Love the man for how he was able to put so many of my mental and emotional issues into words. #FuckDepression and #MakeChesterProud
Actually, I'd recommend literally any song from the "One More Light" album, that entire thing is truly amazing. For me "Battle Symphony" is my go-to song from that album.
This song felt like an old friend coming back to say goodbye, one more time. Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Hearing something new from Chester Bennington almost 6 years after his passing is haunting and beautiful at the same time.
Also, when he says "but I'm tired" and you can hear his voice break…broke me.
Chester is still making an impact on the music scene years after his death. It just reminds us of how much we lost - so the name of the track is fitting in that way too. Chester was a once in a lifetime talent. He sang pure pain like nobody else can.
His Cracked Voice when he said " But im Tired " absolutely broke me into pieces , chester helped me get through my teenage years and even in adulthood . I will never get over his death ❤ i love you chester .
A bit surprised you didn’t talk about the small break in his voice when he sings “but I’m tired” after you had the full breakdown about how he pushed his voice for those types of feelings. It’s so rough thinking that he was that tired and broken when he was on top of the world at the age of 24-26 and knowing that it never got better for him.
This was recorded for the Meteora album in early 2000, it wasn't finished or released until the 20th anniversary this year.. would have fit perfectly. You need to listen to the first 2 albums, this is perfect
I love how you described Chester's voice, Elizabeth - "youthful, sharp, and full of longing". That's it... That was him. To me he slways sounded like someone who wants what's best but doesn't get the justice in this world. Like a child or a hero. His voice was like crying out to the universe for everything he's lost or is unable to get to. 💔🌺✨💥
If this song was written last year and released today, I don't think it would sound old and out of place. Linkin Park was way ahead of their time!
I think I've listened to this 100+ times at this point. Came at just the right moment for me and is such a great song. The shortness of it leaves you longing for more. I also love as he screams out into the second main chorus of I'm Lost you can feel the pain and the visual is the anime style of him jumping off the roof from Breaking the Habit before switching to the girl all alone. Very powerful and hits hard.
Suffering through depression for the bulk of my life, Linkin Park's lyrics and Chester Bennington's vocals have always had a profound meaning to me. I understand his struggles and share many emotions that he has expressed through not only words, but emotional presentation. Every word of this song hits me HARD!
Mike Shinoda has done a interview recently about how many songs in the archive they have and that they got so much material to do a documentary.
This is definitely Chester Bennington without a doubt.
Iv been lost myself the last couple of years, hard to even talk about it to be honest.
It’s been suicidal from time to time but I’m getting to a better place now at least.
So this hits so hard for me. First album I purchased by myself was meteora when it came out too.
I love that you took your time to react on this so I could follow every word even more and just feel every bit of the song In snippets like this.
This song was created about 20 years ago. And you can hear that Chester have been living with this for probably most of he’s adult life.
Miss you Chester ❤️ Wish I got to see you live.
Best singer I know really to get this deep and get this type of emotions out. You explained he’s voice very well. It’s got layers of softness and rawness that it’s just so captivating.
Celebrity deaths usually don't hit me, this one hit me hard. LP were the sound of my child/young adult-hood. May Chester Bennington Rest in Power! ✊️
The only one that has ever bothered me
The person who reintroduced me to the band was the same person who told me that he died. "Chester Bennington died. He committed suicide." I went blank for a bit. It's like that feeling of being woken up and informed that a friend just died. We were just listening to their songs in the car ride the night before it went all over the news.
As someone who’s made many attempts (to unalive) hearing this song really makes me feel understood how painful it is to be stuck in my mind. And it pains me that Chester couldn’t pull through but also I understand him.
I feel like you found the right words for me. I felt understood while listening to it. I hope you’re doing fine❤️
I’ve been there multiple times and Linkin Park was always be saving Grace. It’s always nice to hear you’re not the only one. I feel these lyrics in my bones
@@MastaaTippy glad you still chose to fight! Stay strong man
This band saved my life and I will never be able to thank them enough. I am here today as a disabled Veteran who has a beautiful wife and little girl in my life. Thanks to Chester and Linkin Park I am here still. R.I.P Chester thank you for all you did while you were here.
I believe that Chester's voice was so powerful and yet so vulnerable, and that's why he can connect so deep with all of us. I just miss him so much.
If you can, listen "One more light" his voice is so sweet and so Chester there
I've never been this early before, but I just wanted to recommend you check out "Faint" or "Somewhere I Belong" by Linkin Park if you haven't already. Listen to any song from the first 2 albums and you're guaranteed to strike gold, the level of emotion is soo raw and powerful!!!
I'll definitely take a look at more Linkin Park in the future!
@@TheCharismaticVoice thanks for your response, please do! Pick any song from Hybrid Theory or Meteora, and you are guaranteed to have a great video that performs well with the audience!
@@TheCharismaticVoice Actually, if you want to break from Chester and see Mike Shinoda's genius really shine with LP, I recommend Nobody's Listening from Meteora. They were really artistic-soulmates
@@TheCharismaticVoice I would include the Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns albums in that list as well. Honestly, their first 4 albums (for me anyway), are full of fantastic music. They move further away from the heavy screaming with each album and allow Chester to sing with his normal voice, which I think is amazing (but I do love the screamy stuff too!). I love that you're checking out SOAD and Linkin Park. Two of the most underrated but life-changing bands of our time.
his voice was a gift to us all. When he says "But I'm tired..." just breaks my hears knowing the pain he was enduring. I love the empathy that you express in your reactions. Thank you.
"We are going back because I don't want this to end yet"
How I felt when I heard the end of the song for the first time 😞
When this song released, I was ecstatic. I started sobbing when I heard the lyrics and because I realized it was actually Chester. The way his voice actually cracks on "but I'm tired.." always gets me. May his songs be sung for many generations
The song almost feels like a 'note' left behind to explain what he did, yet it was so far before it. Heart-wrenching to me.
The first time I heard the song I was doing pretty well, until I heard Chester sing 'But I'm Tired' and I broke down x.x holy crap my feelings
I have heard this song about 50 times now. Not a joke.
I still cry every. Single. Time. That I hear it.
I have never reacted to a celebrity death like I did Chester's. He passed the same year my wife passed away. I listened to Linkin Park since I was a teenager. I also have a history of abuse and chronic depression, so their lyrics and Chester's vocals made me feel like I wasn't alone. I followed the release of every album through One More Light, something I have done for literally no other band.
The release of this song is so bittersweet. So many memories attached to them-good and bad. And the "Lost" doubles in meaning for me; both feeling lost and what I/we have lost. When I sat down to watch the music video the first time I cried.
Someone asked me how I can listen to such depressing music, and what it comes down to is a) it makes me feel like I'm not strange for having these thoughts and b) in making me confront these thoughts in this way, on my terms, to feel them without trying to push them away, it can be cathartic.
RIP Chester
In hindsight to everything that happened, the lyrics really sound like how most fans that learned of Chester's death must be feeling like. We're always looking back on that day. Chester's death basically transferred all of his pain onto us, and the lyrics almost feels like Chester is telling us how we feel. It's haunting for sure, but this song almost gives that feeling of, "Don't look back, but look forward towards the future." So try to be hopeful. Never forget what came before, but remember to push towards the unknown you have left to experience.
This is definitely not AI. The band has come out and said it was a song created for their second record which is seeing a 20th anniversary now. It never made it on the album but was completed. They said at the time they said it was too similar to another song on the album in terms of feel so the left it off. I absolutely love it. It’s so painful and heartfelt and amazing!! I can’t stop listening to it over and over again.
I think the music video animation was created by AI not the song itself or lyrics
The song itself wasn't AI, it was a song that was recorded for, but didn't make it on, the meteora album. The video has live recording of various concerts, and if I read the credits correctly, the animation was NOT AI but an animation artist that put animation over the live performances to "voice" the lyrics for lost.
@@carlosorttiz2932 Most of the video is from Live In Texas
Definitely live in Texas and the music video from what I’ve done
@@musamakeup there are overlays from a lot of their videos in this video.
"Heavy" and "One more light" are two other songs which really have a sense of foreboding in the lyrics, knowing what we know now. I've been a fan of Linkin Park for years.
I was waiting for this. I knew you would cover it and I knew I would love it ❤
A voice that can not be mistaken. The pain in his music is so powerful you can feel the vibration, painful yet so beautiful❤ #musicislife #RIPChester✌❤🙏
Please do more LP...there is so much more they have given though music. This song means so much to a lot of people, I think you will appreciate it even more after you've heard more of their work.
I love how passionately u talk about vocals and harmonics... its inspirational!
I hecking appreciate your content, your breakdowns of vocalists and their voices gives me so much serotonin because I feel seen as someone else who can tell the mood, the harshness etc. Hearing this almost made me breakdown. Mental Health has such a big part to play in peoples lives and its very under rated and under appreciated. Thank you
I can't stop crying when listening to this song. I grew up with Linkin Park, I was with them from the beginning and to this day I am still so sad about what happened with Chester. And now this song is out and it is so beautiful and sad because of the lyrics... This goes so deep and hurts so much.
Tears me up and rips my heart out. "I will never be alright". 😭💔 We will never forget you, Chester and Chris.
Speaking about Linkin Parks catalogue is like speaking about Radioheads.
They're so diverse especially with the past meteora records
But what stays solid throughout the changes is Chester's haunting voice and the lyrical way he keeps on coping with his demons.
Still cannot believe he's gone and there was nothing that could safe him
Rest in peace. You were a true gift for music and humankind
I always get emotional with you getting emotional. Thanks for another great video :)
Every time I hear that "But I'm tired" at the start of the second verse, my breath catches in my throat. You can hear from the slight crack in his voice that he was feeling that line as he was recording it, and I understand how he felt in that moment. I'm also tired. So, so tired.
For those of us who grew to know and understand Chester through his career, you can't overestimate how much hearing his voice one more time means to us. He's the one person we knew understood, and that's why his death hurt my generation more than any other celebrity death ever has - he helped us to keep going when it didn't seem worth it, because if he could do it, so could we. But when he can't keep going anymore, where does that leave us?
These are the thoughts that this song evokes in me. I understand why they cut this from Meteora (it does sound a bit too similar to Numb to go on the same album), and I'm glad they did. Otherwise, 20 years into the future, we wouldn't have had this special moment.
Every song, listening to it now, it hits in such a different way, we knew he was hurting and fighting, but we didn't know he was losing the fight. It's not fair that a person so good like him was suffering so much for so many years, so much pain in every lyric... RIP Chester 😞 Wherever you are, I can only hope you've finally escaped pain.
The lyrics in this break my heart. One of the songs that really broke my heart is one more light you really should do a video on that one
Thank you so, so much for this react video. Made me realize why I've been so immersed in this song and music video. Helps tremendously to have my feelings put into words. Subscribed a long time ago, but here's an additional bump for those who haven't yet.
I think right now couldn’t have been a better time release this track. Giving us a new sound and meaning that surrounds Chester and the struggles he had hidden away for so long in his life and with everything thing going on in this world, with everyone’s personal battles with mental health, this couldn’t have been a better time for this song. Absolutely love how you created a new way for us to hear this and understand more about his voice and meanings to his lyrics. Also, thank you so much for highlighting the awareness of mental health. ❤
Chester is the reason I can get a ; tattoo, I can't begin to express how beautiful what you said truly is. It destroyed me to know the literal reason I'm alive today, made the choice I couldn't.... it destroys me every single time...
I could go for another ugly cry I suppose 😭😭😭😭
Hugs. At least you don't have to do it on camera again. Still admiring you for doing that.
Oh, you and me both!
@@TheCharismaticVoice 💙😭🫂
If she doesn't cry, she'll be the first reactor I've seen who did not... BTW, love your reaction Julia. It showed you are true LP fan
Had a feeling you’d be in here somewhere Ms.Nilon. Thanks again for what you put out regarding this song. It was raw, cathartic, and enlightening in equal measure. Very glad to see Elizabeth has now accepted the baton on this track. “Be well” to you both, and all…
So nice of you talking about how channeling sad emotions through music reinforces them and allows a space for them to grow, thank you
Love the heartfelt commentary. Keep being awesome 😎
He made an impact on my music taste in such an incredible way. I didn't catch Linkin Park till later on. I'm 29 now but in 2007 Minutes To Midnight came out. I was 13 and my English teacher had an idea for class. Every Friday she would pick a song of the week that we would have to listen in class and then write how the song made us feel, one week was Shadow of the Day and I really connected to that song. That was the first time I really listened to Linkin Park. Immediately got that song and latched on to his voice. Linkin Park was my first band that I truly loved. It hurts when we lost him, but I never really gave them the credit for what they did for me mentally and for my music tastes. Saved me from myself many times... When this song came out, I ugly cried. With that said, it felt so bitter sweet. Love and miss you Chester. Wish I got to meet you before you left.
Chester was a raw talented artist. Every song he has done was full of raw emotion because it came within. You can hear the pain and feeling of lost in his voice as time went on. With this raw talent he was able to help a lot of people get through dark times, myself included. When I first heard this song, when he said "I'm Tired" that's when the tears hit hard knowing what the outcome was. He will definitely be missed but won't be forgotten because his voice will live on through the memories of the people he impacted. #RIPChester
Wow what a thoughtful and sensitive review of this song vocals! Thank you for doing it justice!
I only catch your content sporadically, but you've got the best energy and awareness and I just love your reactions!! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you find smiles this day!
Mike Shinoda truly honored Chester with this release. The “deepfake” animation of their 2003 Texas live performance was so masterfully done. I balled my eyes out when I first heard this and even now after repeat listens, it still hits right in the feels.
There was no deepfake in the video.
deepfake and AI generated images are different. deepfakes maybe AI generated but not vice-versa
Linkin Park has always a place in this metalheads heart. My heart dropped when the news of Chester’s passing came to light. And it dropped again when I listened to this song when it released. This band and that voice will always be on my playlists. If you’re in pain, reach out. I beg you. From the hardest person to the softest person, we all need someone at sometime.
Oh man, as a long time Linkin Park fan, this is my first time hearing this song. It's fantastic, thanks for sharing this with us.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Never watched one of your videos before but a massive Linkin park fan. I have to say this was an incredible watch, and you hit the nail on the head so many times. Amazing analysis, I can't wait to watch more of your videos! Chester had such a uniquely beautiful voice
Loved the analysis and true emotional response. Thank you for something real
A hidden gem for nearly 20 years. Still sounds like Meteora and on the other hand timeless yet. Chester sounds so young. And even now the lyrics haunting me.
listening to linkin park really helped me to put my anger away or release it when i couldn't hurt anybody. Chester helped me in times that i was down and feeling alone when my mom had cancer , when my parents where fighting or when bullied at school, etc. Chester always was (and still is) there. With Chester and LP i was never alone when i was angry or down. Green Day gifted me Joy and Silliness, Linkin Park gifted me consolation and love. It still brings me tears and leave me heartbroken on my low days.
"I try to keep this pain inside, but i will never be alright" hurts so much hearing 20 years later and just a few years after his passing.
HOLY MOLY !!😲What an AMAZING song. I got goosebumps from head to toe. Even a bit chocked up hearing Chester on this "new" track. Thank you for this, I did not even know they released a new song
Video is not made by AI. It's directed by Polish director Maciej Kuciara.
And song gives massive chills
I'm polish and very proud. He did the song amazing justice
this song was an emotional nail... hearing it, I was in tears.. I am in tears.. this song hits on so many levels. the fact this song was written and recorded back in the early 2000's.. and he felt this for 17+ years... it hurts.
Yet it carries the traditional linkin park familiarity. IT hurts, because it is relatable.. because chester IS you.. he's singing your pain, your joy, your sorrow, your love... he is.. THE relatable singer.
The best analytic reaction video I've seen in my life of mental health professional. Thank you so much for this deep voice-emotion analysis.
I love Linkin Park, and your analysis is just so detailed and accurate. Thank you
Hearing "Lost" after the first time gets me emotional because you start to notice how much the lyrics are impacted by his voice (and vice versa) the more you listen. Chester's voice really hits. It's also interesting that no matter how many times we listen and start understanding him through his song/s and lyrics, we'll never truly know how he felt. But it's amazing how much "closer" to that Chester had and has brought us in and of itself. Thanks for Analyzing this song. :')
I didnt realize just how much i needed this song until it was released. It was like having all my pain screamed for me word for word
Thank you so much for the encouragement you constantly give to strengthening mental health. My brother lost his battle with depression and took his own life in 2021 and afterwards during my grieving and sharing with people I know, I learned that so many people had been touched by suicide all around me and I never realized it until I shared his story. Depression is such a war, so much of it fought in the shadows, and you help shed some light into those dark corners, giving hope to those who feel they have none.
You say "That hits" , now imagine most of us who grew up with this band and listening to them to this day. I am 35 now. It hits like a truck for us
It's saddeningly beautiful how their songs became increasingly relatable to me over the past years. A part of me wishes it wasn't that way...
Their One More Light live performance of Crawling should definitely be next on your list, it's absolutely beautiful and breathtaking how deeply Chester put his soul into it. The crowd work was also magnificent, the connection the fans had, and even still have with Chester, is on full display in it.
Hearing this song literally brought tears to my face. His voice is like a hug from a dear friend you haven’t seen in years ❤️ RIP Chester
RIP chester. I hope you are
Wherever you are, you have found the inner peace that you needed so much. You are missed a lot.
Chester’s songs were the best therapy❤ I don't know if this guy knew how many lives he saved😢 see you on the other side bro😔RIP Chester.
This song gives me such a deep feeling of sadness it’s almost indescribable. I think it’s a combination of the sound/lyrics and context behind Chester’s life. Even the visuals. For me it captures really well what depression feels like. Constantly feeling lost/confused/sad/alone, it’s a really difficult thing to bear, and I feel so much for Chester. I hope wherever he is now, he’s doing better.
I once read a critic talking about Chester's voice and they had said listening to him was like listening to someone rip bandaids off their soul and I don't think I have ever heard a better descriptor of his voice.
