Prashant shares that despite being profitable for 14 odd years, Easemytrip never got validation from the media or the startup ecosystem. He explains how EMT has remained profitable even during the pandemic whereas its 7 competition brands have still not seen any profits!
Prashant reveals why they never got any funding and shares his thoughts on how a bootstrap company can make money and grow with about 93% of repeat customer rate!
Prashant elucidates how India is a relationship driven country and how he personally managed to bring his company at rank 2 with his 2 brothers without facing any sibling rivalries. He has explained how Indian customer is different, how customer loyalty can be built and sustained throughout the journey of entrepreneurship.

I hired him after reading 120+ cvs and interviewed 40+ candidates. 26th Nov is his joining date and he just mailed today that he can not join..😥😪 But still I'm just smiling.... I have little stake in easemytrip, and after listening to it, I am inclined to up my stake. Yesterday I listened your podcast with promoters of Ether ( EV scooters) and will also study their business model and PE and other parameters to see if it is available at discount or nor. May be I will have little stake which can be increased during market fall.

during COVID lockdown, my dad had to cancel his roundtrip tickets to another country booked through EMT. Easemytrip sent him a generic email that stated 'check your account to see if any refund is available against cancellation' and he got it back within 48 hours. No waiting on phone calls, no writing emails / tweets, just a simple process solved it.
I am really impressed with Prashant's frankness and practicality.
