- This was supposed to be my GRAND ORGANIZATIONAL video, but here we are, still decluttering! 😂 It's all good though! We are getting rid of SO MUCH STUFF in the process and it's almost time to get some DIY storage up!
If you saw my video last week, I asked y'all, "What does your garage say about you?!" Apparently mine says I'm a hoarder and it's telling the neighborhood that my house is gross too... 🫠🤪
Today is part 2 (well let's call it 1.5 lol) of a 3 part series of my husband and I taking on our garage. It has been so incredibly bad since we moved in and this process has been over 6 MONTHS in the making... I shared back in October that we had started working on our garage and I shared some VERY embarrassing footage of it... After a day of a massive decluttering in October, the holidays snuck up on us, then the cold of winter, etc. etc. We never made it back out to finish it up. That has all changed these past few weeks though! I'm in full on, get rid of it all mode, and I'm excited to bring you all along! Next week we will finally get to ORGANIZE!! 🎉🎉🎉

It's so nice to just sit here and watch someone do the decluttering. I have done it so many times the years that, I just want to watch somebody else, that's young and full of energy to do it. Why don't you buy some racks for the ceiling in the garage, and put totes full of pool type things, Christmas things up there? Have them easy to get at and marked properly. Have a couple of Bike racks on the inside garage walls? Things like that, would work.
Yes! I really want to do some storage higher up! Our ceiling is super tall in the garage so it would be perfect!
At 15:36, when you were talking about the stack of shoe boxes that fall over if you pull one out, that’s why my whole garage and craft room are organized with the Sterlite drawer units of various sizes.(from micro to macro sorting) because nothing falls over when you pull out a drawer.🙌🏻 I’ll never go back to any kind of plastic box with lid except for a super large tote bin.

To help park your Suburban try hanging a tennis ball at windshield level where you should stop. It helps your not hit the wall or stop too short. This is looking great!

I like what you’re doing to your garage work that is very smart thing to do. That’s not my brother-in-law does🎉🎉❤❤😊😊😅😅
If this garage were mine... I would build wood shelves on the side of then garage with the door but towards the end of the wall by the outside. I would have the shelves start halfway up the wall and leave the space underneath the put bike and stroller. The at the end of the wood shelves put your rolling tool chest then have your deep freezer beside it, closer to the steps leading into your house. If the freezer works and you need to get something out, you will have to open the garage then walk around your car just to get into the freezer. If it is by your door, it will be easier access. Then maybe the wall that the freezer is now, you can put your shop vac. Up above it, get those giant hooks for bikes and large items. Screw 2 into the wall and use them the hang your larger ladder, so you have the floor space. We made use of our vertical space in our garage and it made floor space for shop vac and air compressor. So building a wood shelf where your black plastic shelves are now but leaving bottom open will give you space for bikes and stroller AND be close to the exit making it easier and faster getting stroller and bikes out. Without kids running their bikes into things or possibly swiping your car if they have to go past it with their bike. I hope this makes sense. I was planning it in my head. Haha

Great job! Garages can be so difficult to organize. Especially when the kids are young and growing! It's awesome that you can now get your vehicle in the garage! Do you have any problems knowing how far to pull up? I know some people hang a tennis ball on a rope from the ceiling to indicate where you stop - like when the ball touches the windshield if that makes sense? Our garage is full to the max too because our backyard is in the process still and we don't have Shed yet and we are still in the process on that one as well. Whew! Lots of projects as well here at our home! With 2 toddlers.
In our front yard too we put our rocks already we just waiting on HOA approval on pavers we r getting.
Are you gonna do a workout area in your garage area, too? Maybe in the future do a workout routine maybe videos in the the future once you clean your garage out or your other projects in your house! Hehehehe
