There are quite a few repeated falsehoods about the LM002 (even Jay Leno repeated them in his awesome video of an LM002). First off it was never designed to be a military vehicle, the Cheetah was. The Cheetah had the engine in the back and was designed in conjunction with Mobility Technology International which eventually was instrumental in the Hummer being built. Even though the LM002 looked vaguely similar, the LM002 was targeted for rich Saudi oil barons and Texan oil barons to check on their oil rigs out in the fields, often far from civilization (which is why the windshield is flat so that any glassmaker could make a replacement).
Also, LM did not stand for Lamborghini Militara, it stood for Lamborghini Mimran. Lamborghini was owned by Patrick Mimran from 1984-1987 and the LM002 was the last Lamborghini to be cleared for production by him before Chrysler bought Lamborghini later in 1987. As a side note, Parick Mimran and his brother also built a Lamborghini motorcycle through a company named Boxer Bikes, which Patrick and his brother owned.
Also, even though the Lamborghini marine engine was offered as an option there is not a single known production LM002 with one, only one prototype that was made by the Lamborghini factory.

I’ll never forget the black LM002 I saw as a kid walking with my parents in Sausalito, CA. It had a weird nonexistent presence on the street (if you don’t know what it is, it just looks like a hummer) and the guy hopped in and turned the key and everyone went really quiet and turned their heads to look at what it was. Pure Lamborghini sound coming from the most unsuspecting vehicle in sight.
I think that was probably the moment where I started loving cars. Never owned a LM002 and probably never will, but the LM002 still costed me a lot of money over the years!

I cringed slightly at 4:57 when he said "could you imagine doing battlefield repairs on an Italian V12?" Lamborghinis engines are not that complicated or hard to work on. Their V12s have pretty much had the same layout since the 60's and have been proven to be very dependable. That's why they keep using them.

Me and one of my friends were talking about how 3D-printing could change replica cars forever. prewar cars, muscle cars, old exotics? All of it replicated completely new at 2 fifths to half the weight it would normally be at with AI-designed high-strength aluminum structures skinned in carbon fiber, while being stiffer, stronger, and better handling and capable of being designed to adhere to any of the owner's modifications in mind.
An LM002 built a literal ton lighter? almost possible today, and pair that with an Aventador's V12 with Underground Racing's turbocharging? With enough money, you can have the much-loved aesthetic of rare classics with the performance of modern vehicles.

Good video, but it kills me how no journalist will just say the honest truth about the Urus: You could have a Cayenne Turbo for half the price, and it's basically the same car.
I don't mind the platform sharing so much, but it's the engine sharing that puts it over the top with the Urus/Cayenne. If the Urus had the Lambo V10, it would be distinctly its own machine, and it could justify a premium because it's ACTUALLY different. But as it is, it's overcharging posers $100k for a Cayenne, and it makes the Urus a complete joke.

It looks like the steering wheel is set up for the classic Italian driving position with the hands positioned at 6 o'clock on the steering wheel when cruising. That's why there's no room at the top of the wheel.
Motoring journalists like to joke about the Italian "short leg, long arm" driving style, but they don't account for the fact (or more likely, are ignorant of) the way that most Italians hold the wheel when driving on the autostrada. It's just an easy slam passed from the previous generation of the journalists to the current that helps bump the word count of a review or article.
