    I really love this project, but as someone else said, I do think you got a little too excited with stocking the fish. For example, the one white cloud minnow really needs a school of three at the bare minimum (as do the other schooling species) especially when sharing a relatively small space with some more aggressive species like barbs and rams. I don’t mean any hate at all! The project is dope, but I think you might want to focus a little more on appropriate husbandry for the fish species you choose to keep. Good luck with it all! Most everyone feels exactly as you did when getting back into fish keeping, its just a really exciting time! :)

      Thanks for the feedback, I’m definitely still learning when it comes to the fish keeping side, I think I may have gotten some poor advice from one of the shops when purchasing. I’m trying to make an update video soon, some things went well and I learned on others.
      Glad you enjoyed the video though :)

    When I saw the last video with the boa, I wondered if something similar could be built for a dwarf retic - because that's my dream - and then you introduced the dwarf retic! 😀 It would be really awesome if it could be done with Asian fish, like gouramis.

    Im planning on getting a rainbow boa in the next while and I just adore your builds. There dont really seem to be much out there with really large water features like this, most paludariums on youtube seem to be more ripparium/planted fishtank than something like this and it is so helpful so see someone doing it on such a large scale

    Hey man your video’s are really good, but I’m slightly worried about that water feature. I’m not sure how big it is, but it kinda looks like your enthusiasm has gotten the better of you and you slightly overstocked it. The golden rams for example need a 20 gallon minimum. Also some of the fish like the Rummynose and the cherry barbs tend to do better in groups than in pairs. It’s obvious you really care for these animals so I could be totally wrong, but just to be sure I wanted to share my concerns. Either way keep up the good work!

      I appreciate the feedback
      In terms of size, it’s 21 gallons of water with a canister filter and heater. I did consult with some fish keepers before purchasing, but there’s always more to learn

    I just came across your channel, and it's incredible. I'm super excited to see what you make in the future. That Dwarf reticulated python will probably need something even bigger, tbh once he's an adult since he's gonna be pretty decent sized. It'll be quite the project but it'll be amazing.

    Ive been dreaming of doing this for a rainbow boa, could you do a video on how it acts in this type of enclosure? Ie. does it like to swim, climb, ect. I imagine that it probably would love the water given its close relation to the Green Anaconda

    • @JustTravis_trj
      @JustTravis_trj  Рік тому

      I may!
      And rainbow boas tend to hide a lot and be on ground level during the day, but she likes to climb a lot at night. Surprisingly she doesn’t use the water portion too often, but it does help having it for humidity.

    Question regarding the walls/sides of the aquarium and waterfall portions - curious how you made them. Did you perhaps use some mix of rock/pebbles to give it that gritty, textured look? Love the videos. Thank you for sharing your time and experience.

    I absolutely love this build! I’m about to embark upon a similar build for my ball python using this and a couple other builds as inspiration. I do want to ask about the depth of the base of your paludarium… I’m looking at one that is 7.5” deep, but I feel like that might be slightly too shallow. If you could get me a link to where you got this one I would be very appreciative. Also if you have any suggestions or advice in general, I’d love to hear it!

      The one I got was from Repti-zoo and it’s sold on Wayfair, which is the only place I could find it. Base about 10”

    • @JustTravis_trj
      @JustTravis_trj  10 місяців тому +1

      There’s about 21 gallons of water and it’s about 8 inches deep. I ran into an issue early on that didn’t have to do with the build but the fish are doing very well now :)

    How do you clean all of this?

    • @JustTravis_trj
      @JustTravis_trj  Рік тому

      It’s all set up to be quite low maintenance actually. The land portion has a clean up crew that takes care of waste, mold, decaying matter, and the water portion has a canister filter and snails as well as plants that help remove waste.
      I just have to spot clean on occasion and top off the water.
