That skull/face rock at the front of the substrate barrier keeps pulling my eye as an accidental focal point, I love it! The Bob Ross reference was also peak haha.
Don’t be afraid of going extra tall with vampire crab enclosures. They don’t need much water at all. But they get a lot of use from vertical spaces and are very adept climbers. In forests they will even climb up to the canopy and make use of tiny puddles of water they find up high in the leaves and branches.
This is crazy, I just graduated culinary school, Ive always loved animals and wildlife I tell everybody if I wasnt cooking Id be a Wildlife Biologist. This is like my new favorite channel
That is stunning. I’m new to your channel and I’ve just binge watched a fair few. Best build yet. Cool footage of the gecko hunting at the end. Well done. New fan from Australia here mate.
Awesome build! Keep an eye on the geckos though, they'll be quick to polish off any of the smaller baby crabs they come across. Collecting out all the babies from tanks is a massive job! They just keep coming! 🤣
Dude this looks EPIC. I would be so proud of myself if I made something like this. You for sure outdid yourself. The pieces of wood/stump you round and the rocks were amazing and really the perfect fit. The one rock that has a face, I thought it was a skull at first. Why does it have black spots? They look like eye sockets. Also the method you used for the silicone spray foam background looks really good way less time and hassle than the "regular" method of spray foam first, cure, carve, silicone, pat eco earth/moss, cure again. And again with the foam pads, then potting fabric, leca balls with no mesh in between, and then the substrate. There are no set hard rules just an overall guide of how you can do the setup and man, you nailed it. I really enjoyed this video and fell in love with this enclosure.
The rock is called flint stone and sometimes they are white on the outside and black on the inside. Thank you so much for the kind words I really appreciate it !! 😊
what a beautiful setup, a perfect addition would be epiphytic micro orchids mounted on the moss wall you’ve got, and who knows maybe one day you’ll include a drip wall.
Beautiful! Gorilla glue (the expanding normal version) can be useful for the attaching spagmun to expanding foam (saw it on cliffs reptiles and used it a few times) Doesn't expand as much as expanding foam tmk, tho iirc chemically similar. Can use spagmun while wet also (actually helps it harden uirc), which helps when getting it in compressed form and thus needing to expend it prior to use. Good luck with the mourning geckos! I am ultra careful whenever I open their enclosure.
This is amazing! I haven’t done a build yet but really want to and I so appreciate the fact that you went slow and didn’t skip through parts. Made it so much easier to follow! One question- were those isopods and springtails that you added? If so, do they need to be fed in a new system like this or do they just feed off of the plants and the waste from the crabs and geckos?
Thank you so much, I’m glad you liked it ! Yes exactly, they will eat waste, leaf litter and when I feed the crabs fish flakes I put some extra for theme 😄
You think the crabs multiply wait till those mourning geckos get going. You’ll be up to your elbows in babies. 🤣😂🤣😂🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎 Beautiful tank excellent job. 😍
Thanks ! I failed to mention it in the video but I added a small power head with a sponge. Just to kept the water flowing. Yeah I crossed my mind. Maybe in the future I’ll add something like that. 😀
Love from Norway, i would love to see a waterfall going down the whole scape with rocks, and a heater so you can have fish in there(the corse fosm, and the waterfall will work as a filter)
I was inspired buy you and now I have done my first background ever and I used foam and clay like you did. I hope it works with Swedish mosses in the terrarium.
Fresh looking design, man! Those animals are lucky to have you. What brand of enclosures are those? I like the single swinging door on the smaller one.
Love this build! I thought vampire crabs didnt breed in freshwater/captivity? Did you have to do anything special to get them to breed? Brackish water etc?
excellent 😍 I will soon make my hardscape for my future extinct vampire crabs video gave me ideas which will be very useful👌 so it made me want to subscribe to your channel curious to see your next videos 🙋
Amazing channel! Fantastic builds! I was just wondering whether you know any websites that ship globally, for live insects and reptiles/a,phibians, Sadly, morph market does not ship to where I live.
I added a small filter. I realized now that I didn’t mention that in the video. I don’t have heaters in any of my setups. My crabs are doing fine without.
17:00 I don’t think you should use vinegar for treating something mouldy since it is a type of acid and can damage plants/animals. Instead try hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) it gets rid of mould/decaying matter and is safe for plants. When it does get rid of mold n such it will break a bond in the molecules and it will turn into water and oxygen. (It also works with houseplants if they have mold/rot in their soil. also works with getting rid of some bugs apparently)
I can’t seem to find it. You might want to try searching for terms like: • "pond planting clay for water lilies" • "aquatic plant soil for water lilies" • "clay soil for pond plants" • "heavy clay for aquatic plants in ponds. Sorry I couldn’t help you.
Right now the crabs are too big for the geckos to eat theme and the same the other way around. How ever if they have babies it’s a different story so I have to keep an eye open and separate the babies from the adults the in future.
Mourning gecko fact, they are an all female and asexual species that reproduces via parthenogenesis, which is kind of like cloning but not quite. They are sometimes called lesbian geckos, just for fun. They are NOT a lizard you want getting lose in your house. You will end up with an infestation of geckos. They are some of my favorite lizards.
I get your frustration! Breeding vampire crabs can sometimes take time. Maybe there is something you can do to stimulate breeding? Maybe you have 7 males (unlikely). Do you have enough hiding places and vegetation? Are you familiar with @indoorecosystem on UA-cam? Maybe his videos can help you. Good luck !
Accurate mourning gecko music it's always a montage of moving furniture/tanks and having to look in angles you'd never look at otherwise
Haha so true ! Morning geckos definitely keep us on our toes with their curious antics 😄
The "I did this, me" moment
Haha glad you enjoyed it!
This sounds totally amazing!
I would want to see it when it’s finished 😊
@@terraquaman absolutely!
This channel is so underappreciated these builds are fantastic
Thank you glad you like them! 😊
I've never seen the clay technique to cover the foam before! Such a great idea, I love it! (ps. I greatly appreciate the Bob Ross segment)
It worked out well! The moss seems to like it 😊 haha I glad you enjoyed it 😀

Haha it really is a big job. I still find crabs in the the old tank 😄
Nice Bob Ross imitation =)

Ciao from Canada! Just found this channel, great video. Subbed, and looking forward to more builds.
Ciao from Sweden! Thank you so much and welcome 😀
This looks great!
Thank you so much 😊
I really feel like this channel should be pushed out to the algorithm gods and get way more subs and views. Are you on insta and tiktok as well?
I agree 😆 I have instagram. TikTok I refuse haha !
Awesome job! What water filtering system did you install? Did you think of adding a small trickle of water flowing down the larger branch?
Thanks !
I failed to mention it in the video but I added a small power head with a sponge. Just to kept the water flowing.
Yeah I crossed my mind. Maybe in the future I’ll add something like that. 😀
This is so satisfying
I’m glad you enjoyed it 😄
Love from Norway, i would love to see a waterfall going down the whole scape with rocks, and a heater so you can have fish in there(the corse fosm, and the waterfall will work as a filter)
Great ideas! If I ever rescape the tank I’ll definitely include a water fall. I think the water is too shallow for fish. 😊
@@terraquaman allways, love the videos

I use regular tap water and I my crabs are breeding like crazy 😊
@@terraquaman Awesome, Thanks. I've wanted to get some of these guys since I first saw them, just have to build an enclosure for them now.
Beautiful 🤩 tank
Thank you !!
amazing video!
Can you somehow stop the crabs from getting more baby crabs? Do they eat their children?
Well no you can’t but you can sell the offspring or constantly setup new enclosures and yes they are cannibals 😊
@@terraquaman okay, thank you for the information
Omg such a pretty cat tho
The Mino thanks you 😊
How do you keep clean and crystaline de water?

pls keep doing the videos Its motivation me more vor starting project with lizard thank you
I will keep making videos ! :)
I'm glad that my videos motivate you
Amazing ❤❤❤
Thanks ❤️
its giving "the creation of adam"
Nice video. Do you have to change the sponge?
Do you mean the drainage sponge ? No I don’t think so. It will probably last for a long time 😊
Snyggt! 🤩
Tack så mycket 😀
You got some really awesome looking cages I'm trying to figure out something for my bearded dragon cuz it's so plain right now
Thanks I’m glad to inspire you 😊
Wow ❤️
🔥🔥🔥
Jag tänkte väl att din dialekt var jävligt lokal! Supersnyggt bygge. 10/10
Haha tack så jättemycket 😀!
Hey man appreciate this video, can you possibly tell me what size enclosure you used here?
Sure however I know only the metric system. The tank size is 90 cm long 90 cm tall and 45 cm deep.
excellent 😍 I will soon make my hardscape for my future extinct vampire crabs video gave me ideas which will be very useful👌 so it made me want to subscribe to your channel curious to see your next videos 🙋

Its beautiful, but you should add like a second story, because the beautiful decoration doesn't have any use.
Thanks. I hear you but actually both the geckos and the crabs use theme all the time.
Amazing channel! Fantastic builds! I was just wondering whether you know any websites that ship globally, for live insects and reptiles/a,phibians, Sadly, morph market does not ship to where I live.
Thank you so much! No unfortunately I don’t.
That looks really cool I'm not sure if this has been said but what size is the tank
Thanks!
It’s 90x90x45 cm 😊
Love it, how do you keep the water clean?
Glad you enjoyed it! I do weekly water change and I have I small filter inside 😊
Is there a filter and or a heater in there someplace?? I don't recall you showing it during the build
I added a small filter. I realized now that I didn’t mention that in the video.
I don’t have heaters in any of my setups.
My crabs are doing fine without.
What are you using for biological filtration? I noticed a lot of water movement at the far left side of the tank, a power head with a foam filter?
Yes it's a power head with a little sponge just to have some movement in the water.
What size Paludarium were you catching them from?
Do you mean the crabs ? They came from a 45x30x45 cm enclosure.
@terraquaman You were transferring them to the new enclosure. What size were both?
@@harryfenzleiniii6274 the old one is 45x30x45 cm the new is 90x90x45

• "pond planting clay for water lilies"
• "aquatic plant soil for water lilies"
• "clay soil for pond plants"
• "heavy clay for aquatic plants in ponds.
Sorry I couldn’t help you.
Are you using a filtered water pump?
I added a small filter with a sponge yes. But I have now removed it.
Is there a process to dry the fungus?
I dried it in my mushroom dryer.
Idk if im stupid and missed it but where is the water filter in this build?
I actually failed to mention it in the video but I added a small powerhead with a small sponge just to have some movement in the water 😊
@@terraquaman thank you for responding. I kept rewinding the video over and over haha. Hopefully that got you more views! (Idk how that works)
What are the dimensions of this tank? My partber and I are modifying ikea cabinets and i'm curious to see if the dimensions are similar
That sounds like a cool project!
It’s 90 cm high, 90 cm long and 45 cm deep.
you can add misting system
Yes that would be helpful. How ever it doesn’t require daily misting 😊
Where did you get that enclosure? And what are the dimensions?
I got it at my local reptile shop. It’s 90 cm high 90 cm long and 45 cm deep. The brand is ReptiZoo. ExoTerra had one in that size too.
I see no waterfilter is that correct? How do you keep the water clean??
I failed to mention in the video that I added a small power head with a sponge. Just to have some movement in the water 🙂
@@terraquaman is it reachable?? For you to clean the sponge… I bought a eheim mini flat is that ok or should i get a circulation pump
I saw it… left front corner… 😂
Where did you get the moss?
From my local forest 😊
What kind of clay did you use?
It’s called water lily clay.
Where can I find a palerderium tank of this size?
I bought it at my local reptile shop. The brand is called ReptiZoo. Exoterra has a similar one too 😊
Vampire crabs can swim?
They do not swim they walk on the bottom 😊

did u use a lamp for heath?
