I had 190 stops 250-350 parcels, 8-9 hrs work paid £135... I do this daily for a agency. I'm sure they make money out of me... they do pay my fuel as I rent a van from them, which means I have no maintenance or over heads for the vehicle.
Something most of the drivers don’t know is that they can adjust the payment if you pass the time and still haven’t delivered all the packages. But have to call driver support before you deliver the las package.
Just got done with my first day, 5:15pm to 8:15pm, waited in line for a half hour, finally loaded 34 packages , 7 out of my area, a lot of gated subdivisions with no gate code, worked until 9:30pm, had to drive 20 miles back to drop off 10 undelivered packages, impossible to get that done. Oh yea , this will be my last day. My advice, don’t take a late shift because they don’t want you delivering after 9:00pm so if they do give you a route that is 20 minutes away to start, you won’t feel so pressured if you are running past your time.
That's the other big thing I don't like about this kind of delivery job. When I did Door dash about 4 years ago. I'd screen shot the address and code and save it on my phone. It's a little bit of a hassle but kind of worth in the long run. So many places don't often change codes. I also don't share it with anyone, it's my delivery help. I also update the the codes when I can. We do have a smart phone that can hold storage, especially adding contacts. So if you do try again, this might help you!
I’ve been doing Amazon Flex in San Diego for more than 2 years. Been doing Prime and WF since February 2020 and I chose logistics (DSD3) when it surges up to at least $69 for a 3HR block. With the current gas prices it’s worth it and enjoy making customers happy
I work 8 hours Monday-Friday 7am-4pm for a company in the Plumbing Supply Wholesale Industry. I 've been working for Amazon Flex part time 4:15pm-7:15pm weekends 4pm-7pm 7 days now. Like everything this App job Amazon Flex has its Pros and Cons. I like it
I put in a plastic divider between the front and back seats, always crack the windows, use sanitizer, turn off air circulation, wear a mask, and open all the windows. That, combined with only working Fridays and Saturdays (sometimes Thursdays) is enough to net me 600 a week driving Lyft in the washington DC metropolitan area during COVID. Adding Flex to to that on days that rideshare is slow should put me at around 1,000 per week. I should mention that the car you drive matters A LOT. I have a 2015 Toyota Corolla, so I can estimate that the car will last at a bare minimum of 200k miles with no repairs. From my calculations, gig driving should get me through the rest of college. I'm 21 and am eligible to drive Lyft because I started before they raised the minimum age to 25. Also, rideshare is a good opportunity to connect with people, especially if you live in a city like DC. Install a separation, have nice music, and people are going to appreciate it a lot for the attention to safety and customer experience. I always get good feedback on the driver partition. If you decide to get the partition (I think it should be mandatory) get the soft plastic ones, not the hard plastics. I've noticed that the soft plastic does a better job of completely isolating the airflow thus making it nearly impossible to breathe the same air as your passengers. You can tell how effective your partition is by how the air makes the soft plastic smooth and round. Good driving everyone! I just got approved for Amazon Flex and there does not seem to be enough drivers in my area, so there are always offers. I'll consider doing a review when I've driven for a week or so.
First off most of the warehouses are in areas that no one lives by so therefore you'll spend 20 to 30 minutes driving to it then you get to the warehouse you wait in line then you get to load your packages then they usually send you to the farthest region to deliver the packages sometimes even in other counties they usually send the flex drivers to the farthest locations they give their regular contractors the short routes by the time you get to your region deliver your packages which they'll give you like 60 packages for 3 hours worth of pay $54 it's really not worth it when you can do doordash or other delivery apps to that can start at the house and probably make $30 to $35 before you would even leave the warehouse if you were doing Amazon.
Thanks for watching Scott, some valid points. We have several warehouses here in San Diego - Carlsbad, National City and Via Esprillo. I've only delivered from National City. NC is about 15min or so from where I live now, Carlsbad is too far and so is Via Esprilllo. I think the warehouse locations in NC and Carlsbad are fine as far as populous, in my opinion Via Esprillo is pretty out there and less dense. When I deliver out of NC the routes are generally in okay areas of the market unless it's in the south most region of San Ysidro (furthest from home). Now if a package is undeliverable that is a huge pain as it must be returned.
I do amazon flex since 2019. The trick is wait at least two hours before the block, they increase the payment per hour. I have done a 3 hours shift for 99 dollars, 33/hour. For me this is my dreaming job, i don’t like dealing with people and i get to know the city 😂
Wait you can get tips on package deliveries? I know you do on Whole Foods routes. The Whole Foods instant offers are probably the best thing the gig economy has to offer from my experience. You can do $60/hr at least during pandemic when everyone’s tipping. The problem is I never get those offers anymore I think they hired a lot of people and the demand went down at the same time ):
From the 5 years doing amazon prime deliveries, it's always been over staffed. I truly hate to rush, do impossible tasks. Getting an order of 12 cases of the 35 count water bottles to an apartments, up the 4th floor with no elevator and it's over 100° outside. I've gotten this at least over 30 times.
4:20 - Yes, that is my biggest concern. So I started the other day and it was amazing. I arrived at the warehouse. my 40 packages were literally numbered 1 - 40. I drove only 20 minutes to a gorgeous neighborhood to deliver my packages. I thought I could do this daily. that is until I arrived at the warehouse yesterday. My packages were not numbered or had weird numbers. I started my route - had to drive 40 minutes to an awful part of town. Most of my deliveries were in a trailer park with a lot number, since the address was so long on the app, it did not show the lot number until I thought I was at the right house and clicked arrived only then to see the lot number. The GPS is awful. does things like makes me drive a quarter mile, make a U-turn and I end up on the other side of the street where I was. Then it took me to a very bad part of town. every house had Beware of Dog signs, no numbers, I tried to ask, noone knew things. Then an apartment complex with directed me to a G building and I could never find a building G. I ended up very upset and drove the other half of my packages back to the warehouse claiming I had an emergency and could not finish. Not sure if I will do it again. I did not mind the constant lifting of packages, that I could deal with. I just cannot deal with bad GPS , driving forever.
debbie G you are absolutely right. I started flex about 4 years ago, and it didn’t start out that way - it has gotten worse over the years. I still have the app, but haven’t driven for them in over a year. A lot of packages and poor routes. That $18/hr is more like $12/ hr. If I ever deliver again, it will only be Amazon fresh, because the routes are shorter and usually closer to the Amazon station and closer to my home. I understand people need extra money so I won’t say don’t do it. I will say, be smart about it.
@@SPRest03 yes, the amount of driving I had to do made it about $12/hr. stop /go stop/go eats up tons of gas, but I will now look into amazon Fresh. I still have the app for flex as well and every so often click on it, but don't lol.
Do not work for Amazon flex. 18hr is bull! Your average wages comes down to $5 an hour even less when you total up gas, mileage, tax, drive back that’s usually 30min -1hr away. But if you like loosing money for fast pace hard work suit yourself.
You can claim the standards mileage deduction come tax time to offset taxes owed. When it comes to routes some markets are better than others as far as distance.

@@R_V84 I wonder if you’re checking at the wrong time ? Or if you have some filters on ? The Flex app asks you to set your schedule/availability but has long as shifts are available you can claim any shift. Here in San Diego the latest delivery shift that I found today is 6:00-9:00PM PST. This is what Amazon says regarding certain orders, "When delivering from Whole Foods, Prime Now, and Fresh sites, you can contact the customer for help finding/accessing their address from 5am-12am (midnight)."
Absolutely. You have to upload a picture of your license. This is how they do the background check & they also use facial recognition software, so they will also ask you to take a selfie for the app, so they can verify that your face matches the license picture. In some areas, where customers are signed up to receive alerts “your package is arriving today” they will also see your selfie in the alert to show the customer who is delivering, so that they’re not scared of a stranger approaching their house in a random car, its not an Amazon van.
@@YourDriverMike 18 minus gas, tax, extra miles on your car and putting your insurance at risk (if your carrier finds out that you're using your personal veh for deliveries-they will either increase your insurance or drop you-the greater the risk, the higher the premium........ you think this is worth it? We just did it the first time yesterday and that was the last. In addition customers using covid to skip out on tipping. This alternative is for people who make min wages and have limited options. I was going to do this to put away for travel trips I love taking, but for me, its a hard NO!!
Stop encouraging people to work on amazon flex its bad experience and any other delivery job more better than flex This company make money from you and me. You will go for example for block for 69$ and you will see another driver at the same time earn 81$ for the same block which is not fair This company paying less for employers Not give anyone good support Serivce Their apps is so bad And if you do any accidents they will just saying sorry it’s an independent contract and they should take care for everything .
You can't worry about what others are making, Flex pays a flat $18/hr minimum that's something you can count on. Are there better on demand delivery apps that pay better and are just as consistent?
It's not that kind of app. It is one of those unsecured apps. That's the worst thing about the app, it keeps your app vulnerable. UPDATED MESSAGE- on Google amazon-flex download the app It will take you to home screen from there you'll find the link but you'll also need to download File Manager from the app store
Prime do tip. Just beware many customers are learning about not tipping. True logistics don't tip but sometimes people do and leave message for the driver on customer notes where to find it. Good tippers is normally about location and or just that one customer. Cash tips are sometimes amazing like this one lady that I'd deliver to would always give you $50 cash plus a couple dollars in the the app. Sometimes the delivery drop was for just 3 bags. She sometimes tells you why she's so generous.
Next time when you state that your get paid $18 an hour... do the people the a favor and mention that it doesn’t include gas and the increase on their insurance rate and the unpaid time to drive back. Be informative and accurate.
Didn't stop, I'll still activated and definitely will do more shifts. As of now I don't think Flex is the easiest when it gets dark at 5:00PM which is when the shifts start. I prefer DoorDash for now.
Good for you! What's the background check experience for DD? Length of time for results, what do they check, etc? Is it worth applying vs other food delivery platforms?
I have smaller cars drop things off. Not a driver so don’t take this as gospel. But I’ve seen a ton of average to smaller cars drive away after dropping off.

bottom of the barrel labor. amazed they get by with paying so low but i guess the market needs the job so that's capitalism
It's not bad pay at $18+/hr but it's also best for part time income vs full-time
@@YourDriverMike 18 minus gas, tax, extra miles on your car and putting your insurance at risk (if your carrier finds out that you're using your personal veh for deliveries-they will either increase your insurance or drop you-the greater the risk, the higher the premium........ you think this is worth it? We just did it the first time yesterday and that was the last. In addition customers using covid to skip out on tipping. This alternative is for people who make min wages and have limited options. I was going to do this to put away for travel trips I love taking, but for me, its a hard NO!!
Stop encouraging people to work on amazon flex its bad experience and any other delivery job more better than flex
This company make money from you and me.
You will go for example for block for 69$ and you will see another driver at the same time earn 81$ for the same block which is not fair
This company paying less for employers
Not give anyone good support Serivce
Their apps is so bad
And if you do any accidents they will just saying sorry it’s an independent contract and they should take care for everything .
You can't worry about what others are making, Flex pays a flat $18/hr minimum that's something you can count on. Are there better on demand delivery apps that pay better and are just as consistent?
Returning Driver. I tried to reinstall the Amazon Flex app; did not see it in the Google play store 😒😒
It's not that kind of app. It is one of those unsecured apps.
That's the worst thing about the app, it keeps your app vulnerable.
UPDATED MESSAGE- on Google
amazon-flex download the app
It will take you to home screen
from there you'll find the link but you'll also need to download
File Manager from the app store
Check your initial email from them when you signed up, I think you may need to go through that to find it in the store
Amazon Flex tips? Not for Logistics, maybe Prime
Thanks for watching!
Your Driver Mike needs to stop misleading people. Be smart and not work for Amazon flex.
Not misleading at all especially when the pay is clearly stated for each shift. It's up to drivers to determine if Flex is worth it in their market
Next time when you state that your get paid $18 an hour... do the people the a favor and mention that it doesn’t include gas and the increase on their insurance rate and the unpaid time to drive back. Be informative and accurate.
@@nickovalente4312 those are facts that anyone with common sense should already know. These driving app jobs are nothing new.
Flex worked so well you stopped doing it! lol
Do you have to have a big car for this ?
I have smaller cars drop things off. Not a driver so don’t take this as gospel. But I’ve seen a ton of average to smaller cars drive away after dropping off.
in the uk they screw you over dude
In US too
I love how there’s absolutely no example of how exactly they’re “screwing” you. Really helpful info there.
Not for this old man
Not true dude!
It's a great side gig with options on what kind of deliveries you want to do.
What apps do you like right now Glenn?
What a bunch of crybabies you using your car to make a damn good living and you're crying about your freaking car it's called a cost of doing business you cry babies you snowflakes
Is not worth it
