All about being in the right spot. How is the smelt population on Simcoe these days? In the 80's we would fish smelt, whitefish and the odd ling in Port Bolster area.
@@shnooglebut Do you think this warm weather coming this week will be enough to make it unsafe? I'm trying to get out for the 27th or 28th and I don't know if I should bother bringing the snowmobiles.
This fish was about 4lbs from the Ontario Record. Never said it was a record breaker. What I said was will the Ontario Record be broken this year or soon, especially with the size and numbers of burbot we are catching.
Love stirring the pot eh Kevin lol 😂 love it. 👌🏻👌🏻💪💪
What do you mean? This video I didn't think I stirred anything. But if something needs stirred I don't mind giving her a turn or two! 😂

Oh man I need to go burbot fishing with Kevin
It's good! It's a blast!
I'm trying to find ice thickness information on Lake Simcoe or lake Couchaching. Do you know how I would go about finding that?
I stayed overnight on cooks bay last night and there was a solid 6-8 inches, from what I’ve heard couchiching has about 8-10

Yes subscribe to this channel and I will post them. Just posted a video for NORTH END tonight.
@jimdent351 Ice is OK 5-6" in the north until you hit the fault line, then she drops to 1-3".
@@FoxFishing4K Thanks

Thanks Man! We will have to get out soon!
@@FoxFishing4K for sure bud it’ll be the craziest fishing I’ve ever done!
Nice burbot Kevin! Such a cool fish. How's the ice looking up on Simcoe?
Ice is looking good. Lake I beleive is capped and getting thicker by the day. However plus temps and rain possibly coming :(
Thanks for the update. Let's hope they're wrong on the temps and rain amounts. Tight lines!
What type of fish is a Burbot? Never heard of them.😮
Eelpout , ling cod and freshwater ling are other names for burbot. Apparently they taste good… poor mans lobster I’ve been told.
They grow to about 15lbs , then spin a web on the bottom of the lake like a cacoon. 1 month later when they hatch, they are a Musky. 😮
What’s the limit on them ?
No limit. Catch and keep as many as you want.
@SeabassOutdoors can rest easy with his 18'lber.
For now! We are getting closer, though 🤣.
@@FoxFishing4K It's all good.
