- In this video I spend my day trying to stand and top of a bar. This is one of if not the hardest muscle ups to do. Hope you enjoy me trying to learn it as I attempt to conquer this exercise! Thanks for watching!

I believe I can fly ....
That transition was definitely as cool as you envisioned 😂
Lets go!! That makes my day😂
Keep going..u will definitely get it...still trying to do my 1st good pull up
Thanks, you keep working too and will both get there soon!💪💪
you can do it ! :D excited for the next video about it. Nice to see you kept one of the pole of the pull challenge in your car
My favorite ginger, you got this!
PS. Happy new years 🦍
Happy new year! Lets have a year!
Squat University just posted some demon pull ups too, short vid, happy new year!
Sick I’m gonna check it out! Let’s have a year🙌
COLIN !! Your taking us on a journey !! Really cool video , I'm sure your gonna nail it very soon. Trying to get this in one day was crazy 🫠
That Ice scrapper transition was smoooooth tho 👌 and yes you looked jacked in the microwave 💯🔥
I appreciate it! And I'm glad you liked it, stay tuned there will be more smooth transitions on the way lol
7:38 what is this liminal space??? bar in the middle of nowhere 🤯
Could you make a diet/what you eat in a week type video? You got a killer physique
Pro tip: if you do it in zero gravity, it's a lot easier
Rookie mistake I had gravity on😭
wow i just discovered an amazing ytb channel
dont give up!! you almost had it.
We love youdaddy
I think the scary part is you have to let go of the bar
4:00 It's impossible, yet
I think u had matching socks in every attempt, that's never gonna work man, u need the unmatched socks power
I actually had it mismatch on my best attempt but I need to tap into that power more!😂
@@colinmurrayYT thats the spirit
Are the people of your neighborhood used to the jacked man that regularly does acrobatics on the playground?
nt man. super close
Are you on anything
lol no if I was, this exercise would be easy
I just noticed Colin still has the wooden plank in the cement bucket from the pullup challenge in his trunk lol
So close Colin. Admired your drive to complete the challenge. You just needed more rest and time to achieve your goal. Great video as always!
Thank you and yea I’ll have it in a bit
You’re SO CLOSE. Definitely gonna accomplish this and I can’t wait to see that video.
Dude, really appreciate that you show the whole process.
To be honest, it was more impactful to me to watch that you didn’t get it at the end of the day, rather than just skipping a few days forward and watching a clip of you achieving it.
You truly showed in this video that the things you want to get can take some time… so thanks for sharing
thats gold content man, i enjoy a lot watching this kind of video, keep up the work, man!!!!
Thanks, more to come!
Yikes.. this is scary for sure.. please be careful Colin.. especially when you are by yourself at night or brrrrrr outside in the cold.. 🥶🥶🥶
Talk about an element of danger.. what surprises us most is .. that those gym guys pay no attention ..
Is someone with you when you film at night.. or do you just set the camera up and go solo? If you do this dangerous stuff you need somebody there to help if you fall.. if you knock yourself out you could not call for help..
Sorry to sound like a mother hen.. but please be careful..
And yes.. you can paralyze yourself on a tramp doing a backflip.. have a friend who did just that.. so ..
Btw.. you deserve a TON of cookies n’ cream Greek yogurt.. just for trying.. and you did not look stupid at any point.. we watched this one multiple times.. scared us watching🥹😭😳
Love your videos.. you will get it.. we will stay tuned🤗🤗🤗
Jen999💜💙
Thanks Jen and don’t worry I’ll be safe lol but I appreciate the concern. More to come and I’ll definitely be eating some yogurt now!
@@colinmurrayYT glad to hear that.. and enjoy the yogurt .. you’ve earned it :)
🥳
So good to see someone explain “how to do these” practically & I’m waiting for the planche 🤓
Coming soon! Maybe 😂
❤
It surprises me that you didn't have an audience at the gym.
ANOTHER BANGER
It's really motivating to see people who are aesthetically built good still having troubles with some difficult exercises for the entire day, and looking silly doing it. It really gives you a sense of how progression should look. Keep at it Colin!
Now, I've actually watched the thing, I'll suggest you lie on the floor semi supine and with a stick do the transition in a safer environment. Second, try the one foot stand, before trying 2, should be easier. Anyhow, epic challenge and y'all did make progress, so, progress was made, well done!
Those tips are gold. I’ll put them to use and I think I have it soon so thanks!
Do you have a gymnastics gym or ninja warrior gym in your area? Someplace that has a foam pit or safer practice area.
I wish there was but no:( I’m just going to have to risk it for the biscuit
Nice desk
Thanks!
That was the moment he discovered .... *too late!* ... THAT HIS HANDS WERE FROZEN TO THE BAR
Why isn't anyone talking more about the hella great improvements in the video editing skills? There's some pretty neat cuts and transitions.
Yes! Thank you I've been working on it, I'm happy you noticed
Bro you got me into calisthenics a year ago, Thank You 🙏
Let’s go!!!
I can't do this myself so take my advice with a grain of salt, but since it's clearly a mental game, maybe you could try standing on the bar and practising jumping down in different ways? Maybe jumping down backwards and forwards with only the left and right leg and so on. Just to make it less scary to commit. I subbed so I am excited to see the successful attempt soon :)
Give yourself some time for neurological adaptation, get a good night's sleep. Have you dabbled in Parkour - the end part of this muscle up isn't too different from how you start training for the Kong Vault, by springing up to step on the object you're trying to vault over. There's definitely a mental aspect to it, it's scary to launch forward "head first". I'll say, you got some long legs, that doesn't make it easier.
Makes me feel better about when I can't quite get that next progression! Its easy to forget that others strugfle with new skills the same way I do
Hey collin, do you still train using your Hybrid weights/calisthenics routine? love your vids man, keep up the good work💪
Check out the video of Chris Heria teaching this move to Jesse James West. The latter kills it, even does a backflip off the bar to finish it off

Dang Jesse James West is a beast! I just watched it, he did that combo like it was nothing 👀
smh I was waiting for straight arm muscle up (butterfly) or CTI muscle up
even tho you dont have views, subs, likes you still do this and that inspires me man, keep going!
Yeah cause 8thousand views is sooooooo not alot
And 255k subs is sooooo little
"I kind of look jacked in this microwave" - This is the content we subscribe for
great video! You rock! 🏆
Try the thing is a main part you almost there and you definitely hit that , keep ot up ✌🏼❄️😇
Where are these people going? It's only a one-story bar....!
Hey man I love your stuff here! Can you show us your training routine ?
Bro just dont try it at the gym, looks dangerous there! Better practice at the gym and then try to do it at the park.
with a title like that I thought you were gonna go for a one arm muscle up 🤣
there's no way i could ever get in shape like you. but i think you being so tall is a slight hinderance, but for sure its a mental thing thats stopping you. Not that your not brave enough to try it, but subconsciously its the fear of hurting yourself and obviously if you are not great at balance. For me it was when i first solo'd skydiving without a zipline (in the uk you don't have to go tandem to train to freefall solo) compared to when i first was starting to train back home in hawaii. Keep at it Colin, i'm sure you'll get it. may be work on the standing balance with the bar being near the ground to give you more confidence to balance standing when you get your feet on them from the pull up. great vid :D
Yea I’ll get over the mental block with more practice it’s not as scary as sky diving lol I can’t imagine how freaky that’d be! But thank you I’ll be using your advice for sure🙏
Maybe try landing it with only one foot first?
No joke me and my friend used to do these as a kid on the monkey bars in elementary school
man do you want an editor i just love your content
Almost had jt just need a little more will
That transition was amazing
U almost got it come on man we believe in you
Post ring muscle ups
Colin you should do a video where you learn to do a backflip! Thats both a mental and a physical challenge💪
I want too but it’s terrifying! 😂 well see it’d be a great vid so maybe 🤷♂️
7:02 me with my fridge door 😂
👏👏👏
go colin go!
🔥
i'm watching this while i can only do two pullups lol.
i'll be there soon. always great to watch your videos man.
We’ve all been there they add up quick keep working. And thanks!

Dont stop posting man you're my comfort channel
lol ok I gotchu! more coming soon
It's definitely not the world's hardest muscle up, that would belong to a no kip no dip muscle up or a slow muscle up without false grip. Jumping in the bar is about timing technique and balance. I learnt it on an outside bar so if I fell I landed on grass.
The one arm muscle up is probably even harder than those. That makes sense tho I could see how timing the momentum could make it way easier.
@colinmurrayYT oh yeah for sure, when I learnt to jump on the high bar I had to just comitt and fell off lots before actually being able to stay on it. It helps having a soft landing area tho haha. But if you practice on a low straight bar until you can confidently land a balance then it would be easier to comitt to the high bar.
Bro needs a better thumbnail maker 😭
Dog don’t do me dirty like that😂😂
maybe try to do negatives?😂
😂😂I think you’re onto something!
I watch your videos regularly and I love them. I myself am gradually progressing in my workout journey using calisthenics + weights approach. Keep growing man!
gotta risk dying or breaking neck
I got to go for it! head first
Love the determination
Thank you brother!
You’re really close to getting your feet on the bar. I don’t think what’s stopping you is physical, it’s more mental. There’s the fear of the height and the fear of falling. See if there are any places near by that have gymnastics equipment near you. Many of them have days and times for open gym. You can pull a bunch of mats under the bar and try it there. Some of them even have the bars over the foam pits so if one is to fall, you end up in the foam pit. Keep it up, you got this!
Only 1% can do a single pull up 🤷🏻
More like 90%
You have such a charming editing style!
great video broo
Thanks bro!
What do you use to edit ?
Adobe Premiere I like it
The inspiration I get from watching your videos is immaculate, I almost got the one hand handstand in the span of 8 minutes 😂
Wait this is not the hardest Muscle-UP.
Yeah one arm muscle up is prolly the hardest it’s insane that people can actually do that😂
I wanna see you do that in the future 😉.@@colinmurrayYT
6:29 Man, I feel ya. Self-conscious about your form in a crowded gym it's tough. Tho remember that's our own judgemental view on ourselves. We project it on the eyes of others, who are most probably just minding their own business. Mind games is very tricky stuff. Keep up the good work, God bless your year!
Thank you bro it’s easy to forget that but that’s reassuring. I gotta keep that in mind!
hi colin, just try to use your legs in a swing motion so you can get a little bit of momentum. You do the explosive muscle up, then put your legs in front of you and swing them back.
Thanks it’s a timing thing I gotta do exactly that and at the right time. I’ll get it soon!
You're barely letting go of your hands when trying to get your feet up on the bar. You're basically preparing to fail every time. That's why it seems impossible, you have to push off with your hands as well, as opposed to keeping a grip on the bar because you're nervous of the outcome. If you watch Heria, he lets go completely and pushes up confidently simultaneously with his kip. He's just committing to the entire movement
commit to letting go while trying on the low bar and you'll easily get it, by that I mean you'll break the mental barrier that's stopping you
That’s kind of what I was thinking i need to lose the death grip and just go for it. Now I know thanks for the breakdown!
wodering how tall and weight you are now?.
