All of my dayz console runs I only hunt and fish for food and hide in tents from rain next to a fireplace, this is the best way to play the game and also try and craft most of your stuff. This is the way to play dayz and not rely on canned foods because that's boring

Stealth kill zombies, craft stone knives, sneak past gun happy players. An finally met another human that didn't beat me to death immediately. Find a server that’s more user friendly I play on 4 soild af servers some role playing some just a really good server to find and meet people that won’t shoot u on site lol this game is amazing and ur lucky u just started I’ve been playing since 0.6 update and it’s come along way game is getting smoother and adding more mods and maps for consoles if ur curious about what servers hit me back up and I’ll send u a couple to try out that are more interaction base instead of the official servers that are lawless lol
I was so geared and went 2 weeks without dying. Decided to check out a heli crash. Heard two separate shots with an initial click slightly before the bang so I knew they were near. Tried to move to cover then got cracked. Had about 4 guns loads of food etc learned a ton from this video. Next time I need to focus on stashes first , running around with too much stuff then losing sucks ass
Dude this is where I am at!! Me and a buddy just left Tisy for the first time. On the way back, we ran into someone who was more loaded than both of us, we had to kill him. Not because we’re assholes but we assume everyone else is. I yanked a SVAL off of him & it pairs nicely with my VSD I found at a Santa crash, I have a KA101 I found at Tisy. We’re so overloaded, we have basically no stamina to use, I’m going to finish watching the video for stash tips.

I always starve to death but my last play I got creative and I’m still alive and fed. I was in a hospital starving looking for beans and I opened a door and a guy behind it swung an axe at me. I had 1 shot in my 12 gauge that I put in his chest and he ran off. I chased him down and beat him to death. First I turned his bones into a knife and then scraped bark off a tree and got a stick. Then I turned another bone into a hook and his guts into a rope. I went fishing and ate a mackerel even though I was planning on having to eat him 🤣 I turned this guy into a fishing pole literally 😂
I'm not sure if this was implemented at the time of making this video, but there is a benefit to smoking or boiling food over baking it. Smoked food will last much longer in your inventory and even longer than that in storage. Veggies/fruits can even last indefinitely in storage if smoked. It's great for making stockpiles of food, but at the same time consuming smoked foods will not yield any hydration whatsoever while on the opposite end, boiled foods will yield more hydration but won't even last as long as baked foods and simply serves as being a way to achieve both hydration and nutrition quickly and simultaneously.
Fill up on food and water first, don't worry about loot other then survival and clothing related. Once that's sorted, make hunting stand runs for the warmest clothing in the game. Then worry about the gear you'll miss. This will increase your survivability, minimize your populated area exposure, and reduce your visual footprint.
Is food and water not survival? 🤣🤠 keep in mind that being this specific about what to loot for first will make you miss a lot of stuff along the way. Think about how you loot a town in dayz. Loot from house to house, from one key building to another, and as you go-- pick up stuff you know is important down the line. Much easier for brand new players to grasp, especially once they learn what they specifically will need.

What I mean about survival related loot is a knife, can opener, a weapon to defend against at the very least zombies, water tabs, rags, iodine, ect. I've found most death comes from the city, so it's good to know when you're good enough to get out of town.
@@SagaciousDjinn Gotcha dude, I misinterpreted that. Dying does often occur in the city, but sometimes taking the time to loot a little for a few things to get you going can make a big difference in terms of your long term survival.

Sadly I've finally gotten to the point I survive for hours to days, then I eventually let my guard down and someone runs up on me while I'm eating or something, and mows me down, fresh spawn or not, doesn't help that lately ive found farming a better source of food until you start hunting Also, great video, thanks for even going into protection stats on vests, that level of detail versus "plate carrier is better than stab vest" is what I think alot of us really want
That's usually how it goes. You can't ever l;et your guard down, but I fall into that same cycle lol. But thanks dude! The more advanced statistics and stuff isn't really my thing, but I thought it was especially useful to help explain the pros and cons of each vest.
It is a vicious cycle lol, and thank you! The advanced statistics aren't really anyone's thing, hense why it usually falls to a select few, but it's good to have clarification on the vests, for most people they act like there are only the stab vest and plate carrier

I was under the impression that the Pioneer only spawns at police car crashes and the prison which on Chernarus+ would be Prison Island, not at actual police stations. I could be wrong though. Personally I would say, forget all about tents. They take up a lot of inventory space when you're hauling them to your prefered location, they are difficult to find, they don't blend into the environment half as much as the improvised stick shelters do. Sure, they do seem to have ample space (but in reality they don't - see below) - but they're also a pain to place on the map, cause more often than not - it's impossible to place them where you want them, despite it not being in a slope or having trees or stumps where you want to place it. The improvised stick shelters has half the storage capacity - sure, but you can place four wooden crate in each improvised stick shelter (you can place two in the apse of the medium tent). So, in total an improvised stick shelter gets: 100+50+50+50+50 = 300 and a medium tent: 200+50+50 = 300. So, in my opinion stick shelters are better, because they blend better with the environment, are a lot easier to make/you don't have to haul it across the map. To each their own though, if tents work for you - go for it.
Pioneer has a very slight chance to spawn at PDs themselves. But yes, it's more common to find them at crashes or prison spawns. As far as your shelter method: that's extremely smart to do, but it's also very inefficient in terms of sorting through your stuff (I was also under the impression that they removed storage stacking like that, but if this works then it works I guess). You'd have to take out a crate and loot the crate or cycle through them all trying to find what you need. But I do agree tents are a hassle. I only offered it as an option because it's something you can try and see what you like better.
Me and a friend just recently started playing tpgether and after a full day of learning the ropes we were found by a random fully geared hummer guy. We are now his accomplices and work to fill his trunk. Its honestly stupid fun that we already have so much protection. So much fun that we had a little 24h play session, including looting heli crashes and tons of military stuff. This game is the most fun i think ive had ever, and the best part is that now if we die all our good extra stuff is stashed :) bring on the gunfights
No. It provides calories and hydration anyway, but boiling it adds more to the hydration value. Baking significantly adds to the calorie intake. The point of eating is to fill your stomach, getting water intake with it is nice but it's so easy to fill up completely at a well that boiling is a waste.
smoked meat is more durable and will stay fresh for much much longer, although it gives you less hydration. I smoke 2/3 of the meat because it doesn't go bad for literally days. it's basically jerky.
It also loses caloric value. This is a fair method. But I find it more efficient to bake my food and eat it all (or most) to save room for other items. You're gonna burn the energy off either way, might as well fill up and save space!
I play on a community server on Xbox that’s a full map pvp server in which I run a character that uses a sledgehammer and a bone spear which I replace with the bones of my newest kill. It really trains me to avoid gunshots because of the fact that I’ll most likely die to a decent caliber shot
A week of dying and i successfully have started one fire and got attacked by zombies and clipped through the screen and died. These have helped i also have been trying to play without izurvive
Yeah the shitty thing about that is you have to shoot them in the head to get that vest or even backpack or you ruin it. Makes so much sense you can deck a zombie 10 times in the skull and ruin their vest lmao
@@cptsparklfingerz9210 the issue is that the hitboxes are a bit off. You have to aim higher than you'd think for melee. Or you can stealth kill them and it doesn't ruin the vest🤠
Filled up on food and water ? More like 20 minute cycles of frantically searching entire neighborhoods to find a single can of baked beans. Then filled with joy and excitement you realize you don’t have anything to open it with, so you search for another 20 minutes for a knife 🔪. Finally you find one and open your beans and enjoy, only to be filled back to your original starving point due to the extra 20 minutes it took to find a knife … (exhales) I just started today 😅
Lollll. You can craft knives dude. 2 small stones = stone knife. Can easily find them on hiking trails and dirt roads. It takes time to learn the game, but once you do you'll love and enjoy the adventure!
i really think there should be skills or crafting objects ie weapons, only there for players who have survived for a long time ,even like a perk system with tac sprint and advanced sniping or crafting skills all based on how long you survive so it makes a player that lives a long time in this world the top thing to seek not just loot kill die repeat . thoughts ?
I think a perk system would take DayZ in a much different direction than it's going, and not necessarily in a good way. I just don't see that as a fit for a game that is aiming to he hardcore survival. However, I do think that you should be rewarded for living longer. In the PC winter maps, the longer you live, the higher your cold resistance is-- some added things like that would help reward players for living longer. You could also maybe add chances for crafting to fail or you "mess up" bc you're inexperienced (aka fresh spawn) and you get a badly damaged or damaged product. There's definitely something they could do to accomplish what you're wanting!

I was thinking about moving from a moded server (with military loot and food being something you basically trip over) to an official server to make videos, and I know these tips will come in handy. Was looking to make a series on how many military bases, police stations, air fields, etc. I can loot before getting picked off. Hoping to be as successful as your channel one day
I been playing for years and I literally just learned today that you need a piece of fat to cook with the frying pan. And this whole time I was just dumb burning food or passing over frying pans 🤣

Don't forget you need gloves to skin an animal or if you don't have gloves you can wash your hands with a waterbottle when you're done. If you don't, you'll get infections when eating. And don't drink water from ponds or ditches. And when you find a bottle of water, empty it and fill it again at a well so you know it's safe to drink. Diseases are the number one enemy of the newbie Dayz player.
Well water is the only source of untreated clean water. Water from ANY other source is not clean and will make you sick. Wells are the closest thing to neutral ground, but never count on it. Be on your guard as some people have no couth.
Ppl crafting tents after watching these videos not knowing and not told how long improvise tents last before their tents disappear 😆 and ALL their loot is gone!...a hard lesson
You DO know, do you not, DayZ is a SURVIVAL game ? You DO know what PvP means, don't you ? The woods (and other areas) are full of players just itching for a kill. It sounds like you plan to make yourself an easy kill.

What server was this video made on? Because I'm struggling as a newbie to find the guns and ammo in the police stations.. I have checked only two in the last week of dying 🤣😂
I recorded on my private server lol. But this is all based off of the spawn locations listed in the game info on DayZ Wiki (linked in the description) as well as based off of my experience. Police stations definitely spawn ammo, but if you're looking in the ones on the coast they'll most likely be looted already and not have as much good stuff🤠

I'm new to dayz. Got about 100 hours in so far. I l've been on official servers only. I've been all over the map and havn't seen 90% of relatively supposedly common things. No m4's, or any AR rifles except sks. Very very little loot. I even tried loot cycling, and only got ammo or welding hoods to spawn in a tier 3 army camp. Wtf am i doing wrong? Love the game, but damn. And I play at night on EU servers bc I work night shift in the middle east. At 4am some servers have like 2 people in it, so it's not "too many players." Are they hoarding loot or what?
I didn't skip it lol. I touched on the fact that there are time-frames for all player built/placed items but I varies on the server. Sorry if it wasn't direct enough🤷♂️🤠 Happy Holidays.
I play on a server that is basically vanilla and 1P. How long will a stash tent last before it disappears as I would like to use one as my forever base in the woods
I like dayz alot but my main problem is that almost all places i visit are almost completely looted already. At least when i play on the official xbox servers. It's not that big of a deal i mostly just craft the stuff i need myself and then go fishing but the fact that i almost never find a gun besides the single shot shotgun is kinda annoying. Also water bottles are rare and difficult to come by for some reason. I know the better loot is inland but as soon as i am ready to go i get killed by some random sniper dude.
Try not to be predictable in your movement. Zig-zag a lot with different size zig and zags. Never stop moving when on the street or in the open. Watch videos on how the pros do it when meeting a random person. Keep looking all around to see if someone is trying to get behind you. If you have to stop, try to do it with concealment at least, cover at best. Hillsides near a town is sniper heaven.
Is hunting and fishing just in Livonia dlc or or dayz (I'm asking bc i was in a forest trying to hunt and there was nothing) and I don't know where to find game that's why
To my knowledge hunting and fishing is a DayZ wide activity. Look for deer inside the forest semi-near the edge. Crouch and slowly sneak. Listen for them. Stay calm and aim for head shots. If your deer turns out to be a bear, escape while you can. If you hear wolves, (they can be anywhere) they are hunting someone, maybe you. If it is you, try your best to kill them all. If you manage that then butcher them like any other animal, you can eat them and everything like any other animal you kill. If you hunt for livestock (pigs, sheep, goats, cows), they are usually found in open fields near farms and sometimes near towns. Hunt like they were deer. Don't try to run them down. They are faster than you. Inside the edge of town, you can sometimes hear chickens. Follow the sound until you can see them. They can be killed with melee weapons or even two hits from a fist. Fish can be caught from any standing water. They can be caught any time of day in any kind of weather. Best fishing time is early morning and evening. In fresh water they will be carp, in salt water they will be mackerel. Both are good eating after they are cooked.

My fav dayz content is just watching tip videos. Been playing for awhile but every little bit helps. If anything its a refresher or gives me new ideas

Actually Boiling your food is your best shot because it provides thirst and hunger unlike baking it where it only provides hunger
No. It provides calories and hydration anyway, but boiling it adds more to the hydration value. Baking significantly adds to the calorie intake. The point of eating is to fill your stomach, getting water intake with it is nice but it's so easy to fill up completely at a well that boiling is a waste.
smoked meat is more durable and will stay fresh for much much longer, although it gives you less hydration. I smoke 2/3 of the meat because it doesn't go bad for literally days. it's basically jerky.
It also loses caloric value. This is a fair method. But I find it more efficient to bake my food and eat it all (or most) to save room for other items. You're gonna burn the energy off either way, might as well fill up and save space!

I play on a community server on Xbox that’s a full map pvp server in which I run a character that uses a sledgehammer and a bone spear which I replace with the bones of my newest kill. It really trains me to avoid gunshots because of the fact that I’ll most likely die to a decent caliber shot

A week of dying and i successfully have started one fire and got attacked by zombies and clipped through the screen and died. These have helped i also have been trying to play without izurvive

Yeah the shitty thing about that is you have to shoot them in the head to get that vest or even backpack or you ruin it. Makes so much sense you can deck a zombie 10 times in the skull and ruin their vest lmao
@@cptsparklfingerz9210 the issue is that the hitboxes are a bit off. You have to aim higher than you'd think for melee. Or you can stealth kill them and it doesn't ruin the vest🤠

Filled up on food and water ? More like 20 minute cycles of frantically searching entire neighborhoods to find a single can of baked beans. Then filled with joy and excitement you realize you don’t have anything to open it with, so you search for another 20 minutes for a knife 🔪. Finally you find one and open your beans and enjoy, only to be filled back to your original starving point due to the extra 20 minutes it took to find a knife … (exhales) I just started today 😅
Lollll. You can craft knives dude. 2 small stones = stone knife. Can easily find them on hiking trails and dirt roads. It takes time to learn the game, but once you do you'll love and enjoy the adventure!

Find a large tree cut it down and put 20 crates in it. When server resets you cannot see crates if placed correctly. Barrels work too.
I love putting my crates inside a tree.
i really think there should be skills or crafting objects ie weapons, only there for players who have survived for a long time ,even like a perk system with tac sprint and advanced sniping or crafting skills all based on how long you survive so it makes a player that lives a long time in this world the top thing to seek not just loot kill die repeat . thoughts ?
I think a perk system would take DayZ in a much different direction than it's going, and not necessarily in a good way. I just don't see that as a fit for a game that is aiming to he hardcore survival. However, I do think that you should be rewarded for living longer. In the PC winter maps, the longer you live, the higher your cold resistance is-- some added things like that would help reward players for living longer. You could also maybe add chances for crafting to fail or you "mess up" bc you're inexperienced (aka fresh spawn) and you get a badly damaged or damaged product. There's definitely something they could do to accomplish what you're wanting!

I was thinking about moving from a moded server (with military loot and food being something you basically trip over) to an official server to make videos, and I know these tips will come in handy. Was looking to make a series on how many military bases, police stations, air fields, etc. I can loot before getting picked off. Hoping to be as successful as your channel one day

Don't forget you need gloves to skin an animal or if you don't have gloves you can wash your hands with a waterbottle when you're done. If you don't, you'll get infections when eating. And don't drink water from ponds or ditches. And when you find a bottle of water, empty it and fill it again at a well so you know it's safe to drink. Diseases are the number one enemy of the newbie Dayz player.
Well water is the only source of untreated clean water. Water from ANY other source is not clean and will make you sick. Wells are the closest thing to neutral ground, but never count on it. Be on your guard as some people have no couth.

You DO know, do you not, DayZ is a SURVIVAL game ? You DO know what PvP means, don't you ? The woods (and other areas) are full of players just itching for a kill. It sounds like you plan to make yourself an easy kill.

If you’re close to dying stash your important stuff in a backpack and hide it somewhere so you can get it back after respawn.
While that's a good idea, I don't like doing that. Ruins my immersion. I like to either find a way to live or die trying. Can't say I'm not guilty of ever doing it before though🤣

I wish they added certain preload of firearms. This way no spawning of weapons. First come first served.
What server was this video made on? Because I'm struggling as a newbie to find the guns and ammo in the police stations.. I have checked only two in the last week of dying 🤣😂
I recorded on my private server lol. But this is all based off of the spawn locations listed in the game info on DayZ Wiki (linked in the description) as well as based off of my experience. Police stations definitely spawn ammo, but if you're looking in the ones on the coast they'll most likely be looted already and not have as much good stuff🤠

Love the guides and the content keep up the awesome work ! u def earned my sub, question, im playing on a console only server on the xbox and i used the $unt$field shovel to bury some wooden crates under some trees but for some reason after i bury it it gives me another prompt to bury it again but no prompt to dig it back up, did i totally just lose all my stuff or do i need a regular shovel or something? Have u ever encountered this issue?
Thanks man, I really appreciate it🤠 I've never seen that type of issue before, but because it's one of the weird shovels the prompt to dig up could be broken. I think it says bury again, but I you were to do it, your stash would get dug up. That's just my thought, but I have no idea if I'm right🤣

I'm new to dayz. Got about 100 hours in so far. I l've been on official servers only. I've been all over the map and havn't seen 90% of relatively supposedly common things. No m4's, or any AR rifles except sks. Very very little loot. I even tried loot cycling, and only got ammo or welding hoods to spawn in a tier 3 army camp. Wtf am i doing wrong? Love the game, but damn. And I play at night on EU servers bc I work night shift in the middle east. At 4am some servers have like 2 people in it, so it's not "too many players." Are they hoarding loot or what?

I play on a server that is basically vanilla and 1P. How long will a stash tent last before it disappears as I would like to use one as my forever base in the woods
Typically I think tents are persistent for up to 45 days IRL before they despawn (if untouched).

I like dayz alot but my main problem is that almost all places i visit are almost completely looted already. At least when i play on the official xbox servers. It's not that big of a deal i mostly just craft the stuff i need myself and then go fishing but the fact that i almost never find a gun besides the single shot shotgun is kinda annoying. Also water bottles are rare and difficult to come by for some reason. I know the better loot is inland but as soon as i am ready to go i get killed by some random sniper dude.
Try not to be predictable in your movement. Zig-zag a lot with different size zig and zags. Never stop moving when on the street or in the open. Watch videos on how the pros do it when meeting a random person. Keep looking all around to see if someone is trying to get behind you. If you have to stop, try to do it with concealment at least, cover at best. Hillsides near a town is sniper heaven.

Is hunting and fishing just in Livonia dlc or or dayz (I'm asking bc i was in a forest trying to hunt and there was nothing) and I don't know where to find game that's why
To my knowledge hunting and fishing is a DayZ wide activity. Look for deer inside the forest semi-near the edge. Crouch and slowly sneak. Listen for them. Stay calm and aim for head shots. If your deer turns out to be a bear, escape while you can. If you hear wolves, (they can be anywhere) they are hunting someone, maybe you. If it is you, try your best to kill them all. If you manage that then butcher them like any other animal, you can eat them and everything like any other animal you kill. If you hunt for livestock (pigs, sheep, goats, cows), they are usually found in open fields near farms and sometimes near towns. Hunt like they were deer. Don't try to run them down. They are faster than you. Inside the edge of town, you can sometimes hear chickens. Follow the sound until you can see them. They can be killed with melee weapons or even two hits from a fist. Fish can be caught from any standing water. They can be caught any time of day in any kind of weather. Best fishing time is early morning and evening. In fresh water they will be carp, in salt water they will be mackerel. Both are good eating after they are cooked.
