You could end up munching 3 BF procs for no reason. I know you probably don't feel like using theory crafted guides and post them on your channel, but it's better than making your own kind of guide which results in a dps loss for those who follows it.
Hi @ Ricki, I do folow theory crafted guides. But like they say its theory, I have been playing this spec for a while now. I'm not doing more or less dps with using the above rotation instead of mine. Like I state in the video you can use your ebonbolt on pull and shatter it for more damage. TBH I'm sitting there more than 80% of the time with a GS without BF proc. So I found a solution that maybe is a dps loss in your eyes. But it does finaly makes the rotation playable and takes the klunky gameplay away. With 913 ilevel I'm doing 1.3 mil steady..... :)
Well it is obviously not theories anymore when the guides get released lmao. Then the theory crafting have resulted in a guide that gives the most effective outcome. It is funny how you find it being a klunky playstyle when i shatter plenty of my glacial spikes. At this very moment i can adjust your opener for a better dps output. Cast 5 frostbolts, then your ebon bolt and then your glacial spike. If you are not gonna shatter your EB then you might aswell cast it after you have achieved 5 icicles. This way you will not be munching possible BF procs and you will still have your EB ready.
Im not trying to change your playstyle by any means! you should of course play the exact way you want to and no one should change that. Games are meant for fun!
Will try it tomorow during the riad. The problem with this opener is that you have a bad start. I agree 100% with the fact that pre cast EB into BF gives you the best start. I feel really bad when atm I get my 5 FB and GS ready but no FB. This almost makes me cry. Btw did you gave my rotation a fair chance?
A quick update guys. Mastery got nerfed for the GS BUILD. I sim versa and haste as main stat. Never the less you should still try to reach your shatter cap ( 34% crit ). In my opinion, it will be hard to go for a heavy haste versa build. Because only 2 items in ToS have haste and versa on them. Even when equiping the BiS items, you'll have a lot of mastery anywayz. Tarnished Sentinel Medallion our new bis trinket is a perfect example :(.
I have big problem with mastery, i have: (building the mage) 29% CS 23% Celerity 35% Mastery (its a fucking a lot of mastery) 7% Versa and lady vashj and exodar as legendary I dont know how loss mastery and win versa, its fucking hard :S (i try to set versa gems in all slots) :S
Is there any good way of keeping track of the 3rd fingers of frost? Any addon or? Ive seen streamers have a different UI showing 3 bars where fingers of frost usually show up.
what should be ideal % on stats for maximum dps? started playing a month ago so wondering what % of stats i should aim for (apart from shatter cap which i got is 33-34%)
There is so much wrong in this guide i would say the only think you did right in this Frost guide was recording while in Frost specc. Pls check the forums before you make a guide stat prio is no longer up to date.
Actually I double checked again and apparantely they nerfed mastery bcs of the double dipping. So in my oppiniont, mastery is still main stat. I'm happy to hear your point of view.
you have no clue how to play this at all, biggest mistake is that you can still shatter your ice lances and you go spike-flury-icelance with no brainfreze procs ever (unless you orb with ToS tier bonus).
Hi @ Marc Calvo, like I state in the video you can use your BF procs to shatter FoF and EB. But if you want to be able to shatter every GS you keep your BF. I haven't seen any difference in damage from using BF when its ready, or keeping my BF to shatter my GS.....
I understand :). I'm only playing it from the perspective to get my GS BF off as fast as possible. Without dumping any FoF. I know that you want to maximize your dps by dumping your FoF before GS, use your GS BF into IL and repeat. Squezing in that extra IL at the end would be better min maxing :)

No offense taken it all. I just feel like munching that few BF procs ain't going to make or break your dps. You know what I'm saying?
33.33% is the shatter cap.This is because shatter multiplies your crit by 1.5 and adds 50% to it. 33.33 * 1.5 = 50 + 50 = 100% crit.

I know it is near impossible, even if you get lucky and get a few pieces with a gem slot :(

Sorry, I double checked again. And it lost value but it still increases the baseline damage of our GS :)

Using the brain freeze proc from ebonbolt to shatter GS is a loss. Always shatter EB.
Hi @ Maxx , for me it's a break even, if I keep ebonbolt for my BF to shatter my GS. Or use it as soon as its of cd to shatter ebonbolt right away. :)
Might be, I find it to make my opener seem weaker. Either way, any plan on updating the video since the stats are no longer current since the nerf?
